Child Mortality the shame of the world and Nigeria

Believe it or not, more than 700,000 children died in 2014 and more than 700,000 children will die in 2015 before they are 5years old in Nigeria. Child (Under-5) mortality remains one of the shame of the world and indeed that of Nigeria. Everywhere there is a child and maternal mortality seminar, conference, program etc in the world, Nigeria is often the butt of the joke, ask any Peadiatrician you know, Nigerian doctors often sink in their chairs in shame when they attend these programs.

Immunization one of the wonders of the World

There is little or no disagreement about the effectiveness of immunization in saving thousands of lives every year, and sparing many families the pain and agony of the death of a child, that is why all over the world and indeed Nigeria there is major effort geared to immunizing all children, and yes we have recorded many progress, however the immunization completion rate in Nigeria is low. That is the number of children that are fully immunize within 12months is significantly lower than the number of those that started the immunization program, thus only those that are fully immunize are fully protected.

Mobile Phones to the Rescue

To fix the issue of incomplete immunization and enforce higher compliance many countries have turned to mobile phones, by using mobile phones SMS to remind mothers of their immunization schedule on or before due dates. This simple cost effective solution is saving many lives, so WHY ARE OUR GOVERNORS & COMMISSIONERS OF HEALTH NOT USING MOBILE PHONES TO SAVE THE LIVES OF OUR MOTHERS AND CHILDREN?

Politics / Akwa Ibom: Akpabio Vs G22 PDP The Ultimate Loser by fragment: 9:14am On Jan 01, 2015
This Election Season is filled with uncertainty- anybody and any party can win and I like it. Akwa Ibom is not left out of this uncertainty, there is a strong and sustained battle of wits going on in Akwa Ibom state, between Governor Akpabio & Udom Emmanuel on one side and the G22 on the others side (The G22 is made up of 22 governorship aspirant that refused the outcome of the PDP primary in Akwa Ibom). If you remove all the noise the battle is about control of the state, on one side one says he is the best candidate for the people on the other side the G22 says if this is the case why not let people decide.

I hope the people of Akwa Ibom decide for what is best for them, if this battle does continue though the ultimate loser is the PDP party. As I watch the battle, I begin to see a traditional PDP stronghold state being open up to any winner- Interesting

@ mikolo80

I wish they would all talk and debate, at least this can only help us all decide better. Also I did ask, do you know others doing interesting, funny, even crazy things to reach the electorate? it would be nice if we all add them so that we all benefit.

I found this Akwa Ibom politician's message quite innovative, and I was wondering what other politicians may be up to. If you have any funny, crazy, innovative etc political message lets have them. See this one on www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1012041318812660&set=vb.719413524742109&type=2&theater
