My previous company is using it also for it's Git Server too.

We have many servers here running on Linux (Ubuntu and CentOS).

Personally, I am using it in my place of work, so as most developers in working in my team and it is very simple to use, even compare to mac and windows. The only thing is the short availability of software you can install.

There is actually no effective way to achieve this in PHP, because of the way PHP is designed.

You need to use the a PHP MVC framework to achieve this.

Your best bet would be CodeIgniter Framework, but I recommend Laravel.
