April 8, 2024 - Applied for dropbox but was refused under 221G and asked to schedule interview

B1/B2 interview (221G) Lagos Nigeria- 20th June 2024

VO is Black/Asian or Indian American VO(very critical ,stern and thorough man)

VO - where do you work?
ME - I work at bla bla lagos Nigeria as Manager

VO- why are you visiting USA
ME - Holiday/ transit to Canada after

VO- why are you visiting Canada
ME - Most of my family are in Canada

VO - Do you have a Canadian visa?
ME - I am a Canadian PR

VO - Really? Why are you a Canada PR
ME - Because I am and most of my siblings are either PR or Citizens

VO - Are your Parents in Canada
ME - Not at the moment but they frequent

VO- Have you visited any-other country
ME - Yes…Multiple,

VO - Laughs at Multiple
ME - besides studying in UK, I have visited France, Italy, UAE, Netherlands, Canada, Spain,etc and then Bosnia and Serbia

VO - Bosnia and Serbia (Surprised)why were you in Bosnia and Serbia
Me- Went for a friends wedding in Bosnia and visited Serbia mostly coz my luggage was lost in Serbia Airport so i took matter into my own hands and drove to Serbia airport to get it

VO - okay nice, was the friend who wedded in Bosnia Nigerian?
Me - No, he is Pakistani but lives in London

VO - okay, typing typing typing
Me- Quiet and minding my business

VO - what will you do on this trip to USA…
Me - Vacation as usual before heading to Canada

VO - Why are you not living in Canada.
ME - because i’m taking my time and rounding up my work here. Since i’m still single i’ll take my time and move to Canada soon

VO - Laughs…okay okay ( u don win) here is this white paper…bla bla bla and enjoy your trip
ME - thanks (in my mind i mustered small small dey reject these people visa oga, fear God small but thank you o)

*Addition* I purposely inserted my Canadian Health Card and PR card inside my Passport when he requested for just my passport…dont wanna take chances. He picked the health card up later after the the interview and looked at it in Admiration. Something the USA does not have. Ntooooo to them

Also, the VO denied 7 out of the 10 people before me. Its like he had a particular vendetta for women who gave birth with their visas in the past.

Theres no question he didnt ask them yet denied most of them. He went as far as a calculating when they got their visa to when they gave birth to prove to them that they had the intention of giving birth when they were applying for their visas.

The man is something else. And it was just him that did all interviews for 221G today.

Anyway just thought i’d share

Did my biometrics in Lagos on the 29th of August.
Got the email that my passport was ready yesterday 13th September and the passport was delivered to me today 14th September.

Visa approved - 3 years.

Please did how much travel insurance did you buy? Was it up to 3years?
