PoliticsTinubu Chose Osinbajo For Buhari, Was Not Interested In VP: Ibrahim To Paden by frankman365(op): 11:02am On Oct 05, 2016
Tinubu single-handedly chose Osinbajo for Buhari, was not interested in VP – General Ibrahim replies Prof. Paden

A retired general, Iliyasu Ibrahim, has discredited claims that a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was against the emergence of the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo as running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election.
Ibrahim spoke on Tuesday in reaction to a portion of the recently-launched book by Professor John Paden on Buhari, titled: “Muhammadu Buhari: Challenges of Leadership,” which claimed that Osinbajo emerged as Vice President despite pressure against it by Tinubu.

Paden, in the book had stated that the former Lagos State governor had wanted the Vice President’s role for himself and not Osinbajo.

The Professor had noted that, “With Buhari coming from the North-West geopolitical zone, the Vice-Presidency had been ceded to the South-West geopolitical zone.

“Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and political ‘godfather’ of the South-West geopolitical zone, felt he should be the vice-presidential candidate.

“His protégée and the then popular Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, was also a possible candidate.

“Both Tinubu and Fashola were Muslims, which complicated the national balance.

“A third candidate, Yemi Osinbajo, had been Attorney General of Lagos State and a senior law professor and a pastor.

“When the three names were forwarded to Buhari, he chose Osinbajo despite enormous pressure from Tinubu.”

However, Ibrahim, in a statement issued yesterday, said, “I became disturbed about this falsification of recent history. Why would the author say this and have it published when many of us know the truth? The truth is that Tinubu singlehandedly chose Yemi Osinbajo and sent the name to President Buhari. There was no pressure. Tinubu is Osinbajo’s political mentor. The latter was his attorney-general and commissioner for Justice in Lagos and both have a close relationship.

“My worry stretched further when I recall the recent piece by Femi Fani Kayode on Tinubu and his huge contributions to the APC and how he is now being short-changed. Though I do not agree with all the claims made by Femi Fani-Kayode, I am convinced he made some reasonable arguments and his summation about Tinubu’s role in the current political dispensation can hardly be faulted. In some areas, he went overboard and you could see him gloating, the PDP apologist that he is. Also, the mention of Governor Ajimobi as one of the governors working against Tinubu is a fallacy and here he got his facts wrong. Ajimobi has remained consistently behind Tinubu and that is easily verifiable.

“But back to the emergence of Osinbajo as Vice Presidential candidate. I was there the night before the final decision and subsequent announcement. I was there at the Lagos Lodge Annex in Asokoro, Abuja at Tinubu’s place. On the night in reference, Asiwaju insisted that three names would not be sent for the VP slot. He maintained that only one name would be sent. Eventually, the name of Osinbajo was sent to President Buhari. There was no issue of pressure.

“Osinbajo was Tinubu’s man and that was the only person Tinubu was willing to accept to cede the VP slot. Shortly after Governor Amosun came around to the Lagos lodge. He came in and we greeted. Now, it seems clear that some fifth columnists are trying to distort recent history and we should not let them. This history is too recent to be mutilated.”

Despite the challenges Nigerians face within the
country and outside it, some Nigerians keep giving us reasons to smile. US Democratic party presidential aspirant, Hillary Clinton, who recently had a health scare while on the campaign trail, has revealed the man behind her quick recovery, and guess what? He’s none other than Nigerian doctor Oladotun Okunola.
According to a post on usapoliticsnow.com, Hillary’s personal doctor, follows her around while she’s on the campaign trail, and blends in with the secret service. Dr Okunola, is said to be on hand for whenever she needs emergency medical attention. Clinton reportedly tweeted the following words after her recovery from her recent health scare where she fainted and had to be assisted out of the venue of the 9/11 memorial event: “I want to give a big THANK YOU to my Doctor who travels everywhere with me, Dr. Oladotun Okunola. I wouldn’t be here without him! Literally.” Dr Okunola specializes in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology and what is known as sleep medicine, and practices in New Jersey, USA.

Yes! It does make sense, but wives should submit fully to their husbands according to the bible principles. My husband cannot tell me to sleep with his friend & you expect me to submit fully huh
That's very very wrong. Everything is premised on the fact that your husband loves you. If he loves you he can't tell you to sleep with his friend(s). So while his "duty" is to love you, yours is to submit. Kind of an assignment. Lol

My guy merit list knows nobody. The remaining 55% will take care of that. That is if there is anybody oustide that put them and passed jamb. Like I said I am not defending anybody here.
Infact in my class in south south, it is like an igbo class cos they are very many.

cool No statistical reality can justify the over 99% number. If a federal government office admitted 99% Hausas will you ask how many Igbos applied? STOP been a hypocrite cool
If there can be an exam for it, so be it. Trace back and find out which region has produced the state with the best WAEC result for the last 5years or more. Check out which has produced the state with most JAMB applicants. Check out which has the highest cut-off mark for unity schools-these are students that later compete for same jamb with your peeps. Keep complaining why they keep "besting" you in everything you do.

Emilokoiyawon:
So, I was just in my office in the US relaxing (jejely) after a meeting, when I saw the post of UNN, Nsukka's provisional admission list released by the registrar Chris Igbokwe. So, I took a few minutes of my break time to peruse the names. I observed that over 99% of all the newly admitted students are ALL Igbos. Out of the over 15,000 admitted students I could only count about 10 confirmed Yoruba names. In fact, many of the departments do not have a SINGLE non-Igbo student admitted. This is a federal University for God sake! 99% from the same region! We understand that its situated in the East but haba take it easy Igbo people. When the Hausas do it, you are always the first to condemn them. The problem is that my Yoruba people in the SW will be the ONLY ones admitting people based on merit from across the country to the detriment of our own people - because we want to be seen as decent human beings. The Hausas and the Igbos do not give a fvck. The are just too tribalistic. We should start doing in the SW what the Igbos are doing in Nsukka - No more admission for Igbo students in UNILAG etc. until the Igbos change their ways.
You are such a tribally motivated liar. They are about 3683 students on the list. This is based on merit and is about 45% of the total admission list. You think this one is like UNITY schools where somebody from lagos with lower score gets admission and somebody from imo state doesn't get, even with a higher score. Also do you know the no of pple from outside igboland that put the school and their academic abilities. My brother wake up! Compare the no of igbos that apply for schools outside their region with that of other regions and you will come to terms with the truth. Am not defending anybody, but I just found out that you are such a habitual liar to have said that they are 15k on the list.

Keep hating, SW keep growing.
Wait which part of SW is developing? Is it Ibadan with all the RED ZINC? Only Lagos, which is heavily dominated by Igbo millioniers, has something to offer. Make no mistake I don't support any tribe (no be tibe de give me food)
Christianity EtcRe: 10 Common Misconceptions About Judaism by frankman365(op): 7:34pm On Aug 08, 2016
1 Jews Are A Separate Race

Human races are somewhat loosely defined, but many people believe that Jews are a separate race. However, a person of any race can be or become a Jew. If Judaism could be set apart as anything, it would be an ethnicity, but a person does not need to be an ethnic Jew to become a Jew. The term “anti-Semitic” has come to mean “prejudice or hostility toward Jews,” but someone who is Semitic comes from a culture that spoke a Semitic language. This includes people who spoke Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic (among others) with Hebrew-speakers being in the minority and Arabic being the vast majority.

5 Jews Are Very Religious

All religions have their faithful and those who see
themselves as being reformed or moderately religious, but Jews have a large population of what are called secular Jews. These identify as ethnically Jewish rather than religiously Jewish. 42 percent of Israeli Jews consider themselves secular (that number is closer to 50 percent in
the United States). This has led to the term “Jewish atheism” to describe people who consider themselves Jewish but not religious or who do not believe in God. This isn’t to say they abandon Jewish practices completely. Many still go to Temple on holidays. Orthodox Jews are a
minority in the populations of both Israel (8–12 percent) and the United States (10 percent), indicating the number of very religious Jews to be very small.

4 Jews Believe In Heaven And Hell

The concepts of Christian heaven and hell are described in great detail throughout the New Testament, but for Jews, it is very different. Jews do not believe in a hell as described by
most religions. Some believe in Gehinnom, where a soul is cleansed for up to 12 months prior to being accepted into Heaven, but it is not a place for punishment. And many Jews do not believe even in Gehinnom. Heaven is also very different for Jews. There is no structural concept that can be easily pointed to like other faiths. Many do not believe in heaven or hell as a place but rather as a conceptual ladder of consciousness and simply call it “A world to come.” For a Jew, it isn’t about what you believe and where you might go after you die but rather how you have lived your life that is important.

3 Jews Cannot Work On The Sabbath

Shabbat (The Sabbath) falls between sundown on Friday and an hour after sundown on Saturday. During this time, a Jew is not supposed to do any “work,” which can mean a variety of things. As mentioned previously, not all practices are observed by everyone, and working on the Sabbath is likely the least-followed practice for Jews. In the United States, nearly 96 percent of all Jews surveyed indicated that they worked on the Sabbath. The Torah forbids field labor, treading a winepress, loading animals, doing business, carrying, traveling, and kindling fire
on the Sabbath. In modern times, rabbis have further interpreted work to include activities such as turning on a light switch, answering the telephone, and tearing paper (yes, even toilet paper).

2 Jews Reject Converts And Are An Insular Community

Converting to Judaism is not an easy task. Because of this, Jews appear to be insular and often reject people who wish to join in their faith.
Though it is difficult to become a Jew, the option is open to anyone who wishes to do so; it will just take some work. Becoming a Jew is not just about following Jewish practices. It is also about the covenant between Abraham (Representing all Jews) and God. To accept the Covenant, you not only have to believe and make the choice yourself— you need to be accepted by the community as well. And depending on who you ask, if you are an uncircumcised adult male, you may have to undergo ritual circumcision.

8 The Old Testament Is The Jewish Bible

Many people incorrectly believe that the Old Testament of the Christian Bible is the Jewish Bible. In truth, Jews follow the teachings of the Talmud and Tanakh, which are made up of the Torah, Nevi’im, and K’tuvim (Teaching, Prophets, & Writings). It is true that many of these books are found in the Old Testament, but the Old Testament is only made up of parts of these books as a textual source. The Tanakh (Mikra) &
Talmud offer guidance for the practices of Judaism and can be considered a compilation of sources that make up the Hebrew Bible.

7 Jews Cannot Marry A Gentile

Jews believe that God offered the Torah to all the people of the world, but that only the Jews accepted it. As such, many believe that a Jew can only marry another Jew. This is not true for many Jews. Though highly conservative groups may be against the practice, the vast majority of Jews are allowed to and can marry a non-Jew if they so choose. In the United States, intermarriage is very common among secular Jews. Approximately 79 percent of secular Jews in America inter-marry with gentiles (the number is much lower for conservatives, at approximately 36 percent). The
numbers have risen over the previous half century. Since 2000, nearly six out of 10 Jews have married a gentile.

6 Jews Do Not Believe In A Messiah

Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah (Savior) and have built that faith around Him and His teachings. Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah, but they certainly believe that a Messiah is forthcoming. Jews believe that the Messiah will come from the Davidic line (the familial line of King David) and will rule the Jewish people during the Messianic Age, which has yet to arrive. In many ways, this is the core schism that arose and led to the creation of Christianity as a separate religion.

9 Jews Cannot Eat Pork

Eating pork is prohibited for Jews who keep kosher. In the United States, the highest population of Jews outside Israel, only about 21 percent of the 5.3 million Jews do so. Keeping
kosher is a choice that not all Jews make. Even within Israel, only approximately 36 percent of secular Jews keep kosher. Other than pork, a kosher Jew cannot eat shellfish, hares, camels, and the hyrax—a small mammal closely related to the elephant and manatee. The Torah describes the types of meat that can be consumed as coming from a cloven hooved animal that chews the cud. This includes sheep,
cows, and goats, among others. The pig, though cloven-hooved, does not chew its cud and is therefore forbidden.
Christianity Etc10 Common Misconceptions About Judaism by frankman365(op): 7:26pm On Aug 08, 2016
Judaism is one of the world’s oldest practiced religions, and from it came the two largest faiths on the planet: Islam and Christianity. Despite its rich history, many people do not fully understand the faith. Because of this, several misconceptions have sprung up over the centuries about Judaism and its people.

10 Jews Cannot Be Buried In A Jewish Cemetery If They Have A Tattoo

“You shall not etch a tattoo on yourselves.” This passage is the reason most Jews do not get tattoos. But, as with all religions, not everyone adheres to every practice, and many Jewish people have body art. Nowhere in the Talmud does it say that a tattoo will keep a Jew out of a Jewish cemetery. The misconception that tattoos have anything to do with burial rites arose sometime in the 20th century, likely due to a specific policy one private cemetery may have had. Tattoos have become so prevalent in society that it has spread to Jewish youth like any other
community, and all of them can be buried in a Jewish cemetery.
