mamagee3:I have seen your profile pic I must tell you that you are not bad, beauty-wise. People have the right to their opinions but the right to be taken seriously is not and can never be theirs. Always believe in yourself and the rest is story for the gods. |

doneee:Sometimes one is tempted to believe that "life after death" is all about the things you did while alive speaking for you when you are no more. For instance Mandela, A.Lincon and the rest. |

realnews:UN is an organization built on evil. It is only when people destroy themselves like sudan that they will consider to let them separate. If the Catalans go to war with spain, which will be unfortunate, by the time they must have destroyed themselves then UN will come with some fvckin' deals. |

HARDDON:We stand to gain more should MTN leave Nigeria this morning. GLO, ETISALAT, AIRTEL and others are doing awesomely well. Interms of browsing speed ETISALAT beats MTN, is it call rate? Which area is MTN better than the others. Seriously I can't wait for MTN to pack their luggage. Truth is they are going no where. Their subscribers in Nigeria are about the population of South Africa. In the stock market they are not, and others are emulating them. They know that the public gains more if they enlist in the stock market. |
Princedapace:You have forgotten that unregisterred sim cards are used by criminal elements and so there was the need to give a deadline for registration. The fine is big but they say it is #200 or sometime like that per sim card. Make they pay sharp sharp abeg |
The fact is the more effort you put in trying to make Nigeria to work the more frustrated you become. People should be given the right to determine who they are and who they want to be. |
Yanks101:In addition to what you said, what about the efficiency. The engine is not just an electric power source but also the necessary power horse needed for the efficiency of the mechine. They tried though. |

I thought Miss Ebonyi would win this year's MGBN. I believe she would have stood a chance in the miss world contest. All the same Anambra won. Congrats to her. |

THE Deji of Akureland in Ondo State, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi yesterday listed conditions for truce with the estranged Eze Ndigbo of Akure, Gregory Iloehike. One of the condition was that the Igbo leader is forbidden from wearing any form of crown henceforth. Oba Aladelusi gave the conditions during a meeting Governor Olusegun Mimiko had with him and the Akure Council of Chiefs in Akure on the lingering crisis. The governor had earlier met with the Igbo leaders led by the embattled Eze Ndigbo, Iloehike at the governors office. Ileohike was said to have denied disrespecting the Oba and pleaded with the governor to help resolve the over one-week crisis. Other conditions include that the Eze Ndigbo must apologize for his unruly behaviour in at least three national dailies and on air. “That the Igbo leader must write a letter of apology to Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi and the Deji-in- Council. “That the title ‘Eze Ndigbo’ must be reviewed and replaced with a non- controversial honorary title and that the Igbo Leader must comply with all the earlier directives of the palace.’’ Dr Mimiko, however, apologized to the Oba on behalf of the Igbo Leader. Jollyjoy:You justify the reason why western babes smoke and at thesame time crucify naija babes for doing same thing-Double standard. I believe you are aware that it is not everybody that smokes over there in Yankee. Why has cold not killed them(non smokers). Again you'll find out that everybody has his/her own level of adaption which also applies to naija babes. For the record I have no problem with a babe smoking but I will prefer she knows the consequences. |
It took the Catholic about 4yrs to build a university, but in the parish I used to worship, it has taken more than 20yrs and yet it is not completed. What a shame. |
Naij.com analysed all the official speeches delivered by Muhammadu Buhari since his inauguration on 29th May, 2015. It turned out that the President of Nigeria is not so eloquent. Check out what you need to know to speak like Buhari – or at least to be a presidential speech- writer. Muhammadu Buhari’s official speeches are based on frequent using of just 37 words. Not surprisingly, “ Nigeria” is the most frequently repeated word in his speeches. He repeated the name of the country 86 times in his official speeches since his inauguration. “ People” is the second most often used word in Buhari’ speeches, while “ government” is the third most frequently used word. Talking about himself, Muhammadu Buhari used the word “ president” 30 times since May 29. It’s the eight most frequent term in his speeches along with the word “ security” also repeated 30 times. Surprisingly, Buhari talked far less about corruption – he used that word only 17 times since inauguration. Buhari talked much more about campaign against Boko Haram insurgency together with regional allies. Thus, the average presidential speech consisting only of the most frequently used words would sound like that: “Nigeria’s people and government must work for economic development of the country. One of the president’s main challenges today is supporting the international campaign of such countries as Chad and Niger against Boko Haram insurgents. Nigerian federal republic’s administration promotes peace for Nigerians and African youth. After the election the national union against the system of corruption and the insurgency will bring appreciation of every Nigerian as well as the whole Africa.” Read the 37 of favourite presidential words and their frequency of use below: 1.Nigeria 86 2. people 54 3. government 47 4. must 44 5. development 35 6. country 32 7. economic 31 8. security 30 9. president 30 10. national 28 11. The election of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) lawmaker
representing Suleja constituency in
the Niger State House of Assembly,
Hon. Murtala Badaru, has been
nullified by the State and National
Assembly elections petitions tribunal
in Minna, the Niger state capital.
Shaibu Iya of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) had challenged the
election of Badaru on the grounds of
certificate forgery and underage.
In his judgment, Olatunde Oshodi,
chairman of the tribunal, said Badaru
was not found guilty of certificate
forgery as alleged by the petitioner.
However, Oshodi nullified the election
on the ground that Badaru has not
attained the constitutional age of 30
years, required to be a lawmaker.
He nullified the election and ordered
the Independent National Electoral
Commisssion (INEC) to conduct fresh
elections within 90 days.
Reacting, Chris Osuagwu, counsel to
Badaru, told journalists that his client
would appeal the judgment.
Meanwhile, the tribunal had affirmed
the election of Musa Sule (APC-
Kachia) in the state house of
assembly.
The tribunal held that Ibrahim
Ndaman of the PDP, failed to prove
beyond reasonable doubt that Sule
forged his certificate from Zungeru
Polytechnic and was an ex-convict.
It dismissed the case for lack of merit
and ordered the petitioner to pay the
sum of N100, 000 each to the first
(Sule) and second (APC) respondents
in the matter as cost.

@airmark of course that's what Saracki wants. |
Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Wednesday averted what could have been the outright rejection of the nominees of President Muhammadu Buhari who are to be screened by the upper chambre. The nominees included Mr. Williams Babatunde Fowler, Acting Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS); Eng. Umaru Garba Dambatta, Vice Chairman of the National Communication Commission (NCC); Ahmed Lawan Kuru, Managing Director of Asset Management Corporation (AMCON) as well as Mr.Kola Ayeye, Eberechukwu Fortunate Uneze and Alh. Aminu Ismail, Executive Directors, AMCON. The Senate President had read the communication from Buhari on the nominees during plenary on Tuesday and according to the rule of the Senate, he should, during the Wednesday sitting, raise the matter for the chambre to decide what day and how the screening will be conducted. However, before the commencement of sitting that Wednesday, Saraki did a random sampling of opinion of his colleagues and, sensing that many of them were angry about the breach committed by the nominees who had assumed office and were already acting in their various capacities contrary to the position of the law, the Senate President ensured that the matter was not listed on the Order Paper for the day. He also refused to mention the issue on the floor. Senator Barnabas Gemade, who did not know the reason Saraki refused to mention the issue, raised a point of order during the plenary sitting under Order 40, Rule 1, which states: “The President of the Senate shall immediately after prayers ….read to the Senate any message addressed to the Senate by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. The Senate President had to counter Gemade by citing Order 40, Rule 2 which states: “A message from the President, if presented to the Senate by the Leader of the Senate may be brought up at any time before the commencement or at the close of public business, and shall be considered forthwith or ordered to be considered upon a future day”, The phrase relied on Saraki to save the day is ‘considered upon a future day’. The belief is that if Saraki had tabled the matter for discussion and put the question to vote on when and how the senators should commence the screening of the presidential nominees, an overwhelming majority might oppose the screening and that summarily interprets to rejection and disqualification of the nominees. “That was what happened when President Jonathan nominated Mrs. Mfon Akpan from Akwa Ibom, as Chairman of FIRS. Her nomination was summarily rejected during voting on whether to screen her or not. That is why a Director in the service, Mr. Odugbesan, was the one acting in the office until recently . If the Senate President had raised the issue, last Wednesday, the nominees could have been rejected. That is why the Senate President and the Presidency must be in good terms so that they can watch each other’s back”, a senator said yesterday. The senator added that Saraki also demonstrated good faith in dealing with the Presidency later that Wednesday when he chose to stay in the office till 5.00pm to receive the ministerial list from the Presidency despite the fact that the Senate had concluded sitting around 1pm. “If he had left the office after waiting for the list till 3.00pm, it means the Presidency would not have met the September deadline it set for the release of the list of ministerial nominees as announced by President Buhari to the nation and the international community. However, Senator Saraki waited until they brought the list and even announced to the nation that he got the list that day. That is to tell you that the National Assembly will always co-operate with the President at all times to ensure that state policies, programmes and appointments get the necessary legislative backing”, he said. This is not done to make employers to begin to appreciate hnd but to change the mentality of the populace. At least we have to start from somewhere. |
The Registrar of The Joint Admission
and Matriculation Board has
announced that President Buhari is
willing to implement the waiver that
will end the Bsc and HND dichotomy.
According to him, Buhari has already
received the updated report
surrounding the Bsc and HND
dichotomy last Tuesday.
In his words: “The last administration
set up a committee to look at how we
can now merge the two, the report
was ready but it was not handled by
the last administration.”
“The system has not given adequate
vision for the other levels of
education. We have not encouraged
technical education, we have not
encouraged Teachers education also,
in fact we have not encouraged
Agricultural education to the extent
that everybody feels that the only
way to survive is to go to the
University.
“The only way to make it is to have a
degree, so I am saying we should
revisit our system, we should look at
why candidates don’t want to go to
polytechnics, and we should look at
why they don’t want teachers’
education we should also revisit why
they don’t want agriculture.
“By our experience, most people will
like to study law, engineering,
medicine, accountancy, these are the
top courses been sought for in the
universities nobody wants to study
education. So I see we have problem
in that area and I am sure the
Federal Ministry of Education is trying
to solve that problem.
“First of all Technical Education,
there’s dichotomy between Bachelors
degree and National Diploma or
Higher National Diploma, (HND). It
was one of the things presented to
Mr. President to find a way of
implementing the waver of the
dichotomy between HND and the Bsc
degree. The so called HND should
now be changed to Btech which
means Bachelor of Technology.
“Former President Musa Yar’Adua
may his soul rest in peace, said he
doesn’t have any problem with Btech.
Unfortunately, government also has
not sorted this entire problem. And
there are such cases of people like
me in this country, I wouldn’t have
been able to read, I wouldn’t have
been able to go to school. So what I
am saying is, government should look
at how we can improve technical
education.
“Let me refer to what Oby
Ezekwensili the former Minister of
Education said, she was determined
to implement Btech in our Technical
System, college of Education. All this
places should be well equipped for
Btech.
“Four colleges of Education have
been upgraded to universities of
Education, you will see the rush into
those universities now because they
can now get bachelor’s degree. And
when they come to the public they
will not be a push away. So this is
where we are, I think if I go by what
we saw on Wednesday, President
Buhari and the Vice President listened
and they were interested in what we
presented.”

Now, deactivating those SIMs would have resulted to severe difficulties for users who had genuine reasons for their inability to update their account.
