DrAnie: Nice move Frank. Congrats! It's a different ballgame living in a western world most esp the US or UK in terms of food, weather, advancement in technology, lifestyle etc. Seems you were studying medicine before migrating. However, you dont really need to pursue a career in the medical field in the States to make good money unless you have a passion for it. I would suggest you delve into computer science or information systems and you will never regret you did, since you already have a penchant for computers. Once you get your SSN, DL and GC you are then "ripe" for the job market lol. Please dont be so excited in getting a job and then grab just any kinda job you find. Some jobs may not be worth doing.. lol. Although, you have to start from somewhere. God bless your hustle! Please do go back to school asap. That would put you at great advantage in the US. Also, the friends you keep would either make or mal you. #Shalom. thanks a lot. |

Settling inSo, at about yesterday, I and my siblings, armed with our social security numbers, went to get our id cards and driver's license (permit). After driving for like 45 - 60mins, we got to our destination. One striking thing about everything Ive seen so far is the fact that everything here is so orderly. As someone who is used to the jaga jaga system of things in nigeria, i find this a whole lot pleasing to the senses. On getting there, we queued up, took our ticket numbers, sat down and waited for our tickets to be called so we would be attended to. After a while, my ticket number was called, I filled some forms and went to take a written test which I passed. Then i went and had my picture taken for the learner's permit and id card. During the course of our little stay there, a group of high school students came in and sang some christmas songs. it was really refreshing. It reminded me of my days in the choir. Surprisingly, the choir was from the catholic church close to our house. I made a mental note about making enquiries about joining the bigger choir when I get to church next sunday. We went for a little drive to see some notable places close to the house -cinema, sports facility etc. Each time we step out, i see some ultra bad-ass cars no be for naija wey toyota full everywhere.

Most of the pictures were taken while the car was in motion that's why some of the pictures were blurred.
Pardon me.

sirRiddy: I live close to the campus gym which is like few metres away from my residence. But time no too dey. It is even worse this period wey to stand up for bed go work now na wahala. I pay 171 dollars per semester for using the facility and I wish I can go there more frequently. Well, depending on your genes and eating habits, you can manage weight issues. Avoid eating dinner after 8pm and eat small meals multiple times a day. Seems you are having fun, please enjoy the moment. Life is too short. Your thread is very entertaining. Thanks man. You should enjoy yourself as well. |
