A girl went to school and the teacher asked, how old are you? She replied I don't know but I know that I'm half my mother's age. The teacher asked OK how old is your mother? She said I don't know but I know that my dad is 5 years older than my mother. The teacher, then asked how old is your dad? She said I don't know but I know that if we add our ages the answer is 100 years... Now, how old is the girl, her mum, and her dad? Please show your workings! |
Everybody likes stories about success. And the good thing about achieving success is that it is not exclusive to some select group of people. Therefore, I make bold to tell you today that “you sef fit make am“. But in order to make it in life, you need to heed the open secrets presented in this article. Some of them might seem very basic, something you’ve probably heard of before. But the taste of the pudding is in the eating. So, get ready to dig in. What I’m about to reveal to you are the ideas financially successful people apply every day to make and maintain their wealth. Make yourself comfortable as we are about to begin. Who are the rich ones? If you want to spot the truly wealthy people, you may have to try a little bit harder. Why? The reason is because you might not find them driving the most expensive cars, buying private jets, or wearing a million dollar watch. Rich people are more concerned about making investments and consolidating on their wealth, instead of blowing it all away on wild shopping sprees and drunken nights. That’s exactly why they are rich in the first place. They don’t splash the cash around every chance they get. Instead, they allow their money to grow. Want to find a financially successful person? – They are just ordinary people who work to create value, and then save and invest their earnings sensibly. They are people who live unassumingly and don’t try to show that they have it all. On the contrary, a rich person would prefer not to attract unwarranted attention. When they spend, they do so to make their life easier, not to impress themselves or anyone else. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean they don’t have a good time. Ever wondered why some football or TV stars with 6 figure bank accounts suddenly go broke at the end of their career? Well, the answer to that you can answer after reading this article. Some people may ride fancy cars or live in big mansions, even though they are deep in debt. Soon enough, most of their earnings go into paying off debt rather than compounding. *A Rich Person’s Secrets How They Do It The road to wealth is open to anyone who is willing to walk it. You might realize that you are already practicing the ideas that will be presented here. If so, continue on the path. If not, it’s never too late to start. *Here’s how the rich build their wealth and keep it:* 1. *They have multiple income streams* Rich people venture into any opportunity they find profitable. They don’t receive a paycheck and go to sleep. Instead, they diversify. They also have passive income, where they let their money work for them. For instance, through real estate investments. Multiple income streams don’t only make you richer, they make you financially secure, that no matter what happens, you have something to fall back on. If you happen to work an office job from 8 to 5, and don’t have time for anything else, you could open a retail store where you only have to breeze in for inspections (it will pay you to have a trusted sales person in this case), or if you have the means, build a house and become a landlord. Just find any channel where your earnings can make you more money. It’s a good idea to build yourself a decent private residence, but even wiser to have real estate that puts money in your pocket first. 2. *They don’t always think about making a million bucks; but serving a million people Value creation; That’s the phrase. Why most people fail financially is that they focus too much on making money rather than on creating value. This is the reason why many fall prey to their own greed. In an effort to get rich, or get rich quick, they end up losing what they already have. It might sound counterintuitive that to make money you’re not supposed to think about money… huh! But that’s just the fact. Let’s say you are a business person and your purpose is to make a ton of money. You’d find every opportunity to squeeze every cent out of your customers; even cheat them if need be. The result? Dissatisfied customers. Even if you are not dishonest, you might remain stagnant at your current level. But when your goal is to create value, you’d regularly brainstorm for productive ideas to serve your customers better, to make people want your products, or even how to reach a wider audience. You start becoming innovative. You hire experienced people and benefit from their skills and knowledge. The effect? You get positive reviews and word of mouth, attract more customers, serve better products and services, and before you know it, rise to the top of your industry as a leading brand. Find ways to make people’s lives easier. Put your skills to work, create value, and money will flow. 3. *They live within their means Don’t try to keep up with the Dangote’s and Adeleke’s. Live within your means, have a plan for your money, and spend only on things you can afford. Let’s assume you make 200,000 naira every month. You shouldn’t try to spend it all before the month runs out. Save half of it and live on the other half. Practice discretion. This also means maintaining your belongings well. Be it your car, clothes, working tools, you name it. This way, you won’t always have to spend on new stuff all the time. When you save up, you increase your chances of grabbing a wise investment opportunity whenever it presents itself. Also, when you face hard times, you wouldn’t have to run to your rich uncle for help since you’d have something to sustain you till things go back to normal. 4. *They keep learning Learning never ends for the rich. Always find ways to improve yourself. Learn new skills and new ways of doing things. Your earning power is deeply rooted in what you can offer. Without continuous improvement, you’re heading towards creative rot. Keep pushing your earning potential through education, training, and personal development. For some, this could mean going back to school or gaining that special certificate. It could also mean stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. If there’s something that you find difficult, but which can help you in your field, immerse yourself in it until it gets easier. Investing in yourself will not only make you a better person, but also help you expand your reach and grow your connections. In conclusion You don’t need to make six figures from the start before you set out on your path to financial freedom. No matter how much you earn, take the first step today and start practicing the ways of the rich. In the absence of Governor Godwin Obaseki the Hon. Commissioner for Education Bar. Emmanuel Agbale yesterday received the Leadership of NISAYA state Executive along side SUG Presidents, NANS Rep, NAESS National President and Nigerian Students. They presented a communique, which 9jatrendingnews reporters saw a copy, which reads as follows “The Executive Governor The Commissioner for Education The S.S.A to the Governor Youth/Students Matters Dear Comrades Fellow Nigerian Students Ladies and Gentlemen COMMUNIQUE OF NISAYA STATE COUNCIL MEETING ON THE OUTCOME OF ITS CAMPUS TOUR Looking at the deepening catastrophic state of our higher educational sector, and government seemingly lukewarm stand in addressing the epileptic condition of our tertiary institution and indigenous students welfare. Sir, on behalf of the 1.4 million Nigerian students in Edo state, we say the current state of higher Education in the State is alarming, sardonic, retrogressive and a source of concern within the intellectual community. However, we shall not relent in the struggle for the emancipation of a better educational system, where students dream would become a reality, guaranteed students and staff welfare, active presence of government infrastructure to enhance learning, accessible scholarship, grant and financial aid to carry out research by staff and students like our counterpart states. Sequel to the above, our demands are; 1. That a standing committee be setup to immediately address the state of all shut down institution which include; College of Agriculture, Iguorakhi, Tayo Akpata University, Center for Community Development, Education, Edo State School of Nursing. 2. That following the poor conditions of our tertiary institution viz, Edo State Polytechnic (USEN), Ambrose Alli University (AAU), College of Education Igueben; we demand that the state government declare a state of emergency and set up a rescue committee to be headed by his Excellency the Governor himself with the aim of finding a long term solution to the seemingly logjam currently being experienced in the higher educational sector which has led to educational cash flight from Edo State to neighbouring State. 3. That the government should tell us, as research have shown that closed down schools still enjoy allocated funds. Consequently, we beg to know where those tax payers money go to at the detriments of our educational system and our teeming youths whose studentship has been kept in limbo. For the purpose of clarity, College of Agriculture Iguorakhi and Tayo Akpata University, even though under closure have continued to have monies budgeted to them in the state appropriation, our simple and direct question are where are the monies and why are our students still at home? 4. That the State |Government begins the process for the payment of bursary to Edo State students. So as to aid their daunting financial challenges. The request for the payment of bursary is not out of place and not out of the reach of government to achieve. Thus, Edo state is invariably lonely when it comes to government demonstrating care, affection and encouragement to their students in tertiary institution as they remain adamant in the nonpayment of bursary to students. The need and importance of bursary has been over flogged and cannot be over emphasized. 5. We demand that immediate measures be put in place to check and forestall incidences of police brutality in the State particularly the wanton arrest and torture of innocent student by the State Anti Cultism department of the Police Command in Edo State Mr. Governor, it is our hope that we will be able to achieve most of our demands without resorting to confrontation, but we shall not hesitate to mobilize the over 1.4 million teeming students across the State in condemnation of the poor state of tertiary education in Edo State. Yours in Nation Building Aluta Continua, Victoria Acerta. COMR. OSEMUDIAMEN E. OGBIDI NISAYA Chairman Edo State and Acting Vice President South-South University of Benin COMR. Some social rules may help you to look professional: 1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call that means they have something more important to attend to. 2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the other person remembers lending it to you. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes. 3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is treating you for lunch/dinner. If possible ask them to order their choice of food for you. 4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ For god’s sake it isn’t your problem. 5. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. Doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public. 6. If you take a taxi with a friend, and he/she pays now, you pay next time. 7. Respect different political opinions. 8. Never interrupt people talking. 9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. 10. Say “thank you” when someone is helping you. 11. Praise publicly. Criticize privately. 12. There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic If they want to talk about losing weight, they will. 13. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next 14. Don't fix a time without being punctual yourself. It's bad habit. 15. Take time management serious because time is actually money for many people. https://9jatrendingnews.com/2019/04/04/some-social-rules-may-help-you-to-look-professional/ |
Kolade Johnson: UNIBEN Alumni Group protest in Benin, demand justice for slain comrade A group of ex-students of the University of Benin, under the aegis of ‘Concerned UNIBEN Alumni’ took to the streets of Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Wednesday, to register their displeasure over the killing of Mr Kolade Johnson, an alumnus of the University of Benin who was killed by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives, on Sunday, in Lagos. The protest kicked-off at the NNPC mega station, Sapele road in Benin city metropolis with members of the group who trooped out in their numbers in solidarity of their slain friend and comrade. The alumni group barricaded some entrances and connecting junctions in Benin metropolis beginning from their take-off point; Sapele Road, through the Edo State Police Headquarters, with songs of solidarity. The Spokesman and Convener of the group, Oguche Divine Omale said the protest was to register their grievances in the most peaceful manner over the death of a fellow alumnus, Kolade Johnson, who according to him, was killed due to the recklessness of the SARS operatives. Omale also noted that the peaceful march was to tell the Nigerian government and the Police that “enough is enough”; stressing that such occurrence would no longer be tolerated in subsequent times even as he demanded for justice for their late friend and comrade, Kola. Addressing the group on behalf of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, the State Police Public Relations Officer, said the incident was a regrettable one, which also saddens the the command. DSP Nwabuzor also described the act as man’s inhumanity to man. He told the group that the prosecution process of those involved in the act had begun, and that justice must be served in the end, while pleading with them to exercise equanimity. President Muhammadu Buhari had also reacted on Kolade’s death on Wednesday, reassuring Nigerians how much his administration prioritizes the life of every Nigerian. The President also extended his condolences to the family of the deceased with strong assurance that all those involved in the act would be brought to book. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, had on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased; assuring them that justice would prevail at the end of the day. Kolade Johnson, until his death was an aspiring music star. He graduated from the department of Business Administration, University of Benin in 2013. Having spent about five years in South Africa, he returned in 2017 due to the xenophobic attack in the country to pursue his music career at home in Nigeria. A heat wave is a period of excessively hot weather, which may be accompanied by high humidity, especially in oceanic climate countries. While definitions vary, a heat wave is usually measured relative to the usual weather in the area and relative to normal temperatures for the season. A heat wave occurs when a system of high atmospheric pressure moves into an area. In such a high-pressure system, air from upper levels of our atmosphere is pulled toward the ground, where it becomes compressed and increases in temperature. ... The high-pressure inhibits winds, making them faint-to-nonexistent. Recently in many parts of Nigeria, we have seen abnormal hot conditions, places like Abuja, Kwara, Benue and most of the North East states. How to survive the Heat wave in Nigeria 1) Drink more water to keep hydrated 2) Avoid alcoholic drinks 3) Eat lots of fresh fruits 4) Try stay indoors between 12noon-4pm 5) Take cold baths in the afternoon &/or before going to bed Cc Lalasticlala https://9jatrendingnews.com/2019/03/21/how-to-survive-the-current-heat-wave-in-nigeria/ |

9jatrending news gathered that, Comrade Grace Obakina (labour Party, Oredo East) pledges to support bills to revitalize WASH sector in Benin City Water is life and lack of it means death. Access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) are crucial for good outcomes in health, nutrition, education and livelihood standards. When water and sanitation facilities are available and accessible to citizens, they act as primary barriers against disease transmission. Personal hygiene, particularly hand washing with soap and running water, has been identified as the most cost-effective disease control mechanism. Yet, about 87% of the population do not have basic hygiene facilities and almost a third (29%) of hospitals and clinics in the country do not have access to potable water; the same percentage do not have access to safe toilet facilities, according to a report by World Health Organisation. The problems associated with inadequate WASH services affect all aspects of human development, with women and girls disproportionately affected. It is on this premise that WaterAid Nigeria in partnership with Connected Development launched a national campaign (#Vote4WASH) to mobilize stakeholders to support revolutionary rural and urban water schemes by office holders. In line with Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 6 in particular), the campaign seeks to mainstream water, sanitation and hygiene conversations into the all-important Nigeria general elections scheduled to commence from February 23, 2019. In addition to media engagements and online advocacies, Connected Development wrote to Comrade Grace; requesting for a high-level courtesy call on chronic water crises in her constituency. She honoured the request and during the visit she publicly declared her total support for WASH sector upon assumption of office.
