Nairaland GeneralA Nairalander, frankwells Celebrate His Birthday, see Article And Photo by frankwells(op):
Fellow Nigerians, am here once more but not on the analysis you’ve been expecting from me, let’s leave politics aside today and discuss personal issues, am very happy to tell you some positive development in my existence, I was brought up from a Yoruba lineage who taught me that atelewo eni kitan nije (all you can be sure of is the reward from your personal hard work) and have since key into that sacrosantly like a sacrament administered by a catholic priest and it has never failed me.

It is not for nothing that it was said that Rome was not built in a day, there is thus no alternative to working assiduously for greatness.

By God’s grace I will be a year+ on May 22nd, how times flies, it looks like my 10th year birthday was celebrated yesterday, many would expect me to pop champagnes and make an elaborate merriment, but so sorry to disappoint, for me it is a time for sober reflection to ask how far about the market like my Biafran brothers and then look forward in building a solid career in my field that will be unshakable like that of mount Zion.

As i grow older, i should begin to work harder for the legacy i wish to bequeath on younger generations, pity is of mine to those who think we possess all the time in this world, no time to check time they say.

Over the year have been able to give birth to something of my dream which is to own a website and be in the web development field and which i have succeeded in doing so with the coming of www.aauaconnect.com a year ago developed by a team of young computer science student and the life given to www.jagabanng.com aim at informing and educating the general public about latest trends in every sector especially that of politics which we are all it animal and also have been able to setup one of the fast, cheap and reliable bulksms channels with it address at www.fran6sms.com it sells for as low as #1 per sms, per unit and also have been able to put a voluble in the wheel of my internetpreneurship journey as i progress towards gathering people in respective of color, location and race to a single platform at www.adedotunf.com.ng but redirected presently where they can voice out and contribute to interest of national development towards making the world a better place for every one of us.

One’s birthday date is the best time in eulogizing his mother and show how much you love and appreciate her, as my Mother is the sweetest gift from God to me, there is no way I can ever really thank her for all she has done for me, nevertheless we must make it a habit personally to keep reminding ourselves of the various sacrifices our mothers made when she gave birth to us.
Down the years i need no other song than to sing count your blessings, name them one by one, because the lord has been faithful, I know his contract for favor and long life he will not breach and promise to be faithful with my own part of the deal.

Let me borrow Hon.Patrick Obahiagbon lines here: I thank the inscrutable great Geometrician of the universe for allowing the sun to announce a new day and thus making me a year older this natal day.
Who be me and who I be if not for Baba, the great Architect of the Universe?

Baba, me your forever small “pickin”, stretch out my two hands to the East, from whence commeth the greater light and I say Gloria in Excelsis Deo and I say Deo Gratias and I say Deo Confidimus and I say Deo optimo Maximo and I say Deus Caritas Est and i say Deus Lux Mea Est and i say Deus Spes Nostra…. Service, Humility, love and Compassion shall be mine all my life Deo Volente.

I believe the angel carrying my prayer will go along with a Dictionary.

And to some I might have offended and crossed my borders against over the years, let me say ‘’to err is humane’’, got a blood flowing through my veins, we should just forget the differences and channel our energy of hatred into a process that will take us into an enviable height.

On a final note while we are alive and here let’s celebrate life to the fullest in him that created us and always remember death, “I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow”, this life does not promise to be an easy ride, but with the saviors love I shall scale through.

My philosophy still remains GOD FIRST, MONEY NEXT.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, TAKING STOCK MOVING FORWARD>>

Romance7 Reasons Why Married Men Cheat by frankwells(op): 4:16am On Apr 20, 2016
Cheating is wrong, i am not in anyway trying to justify it. However, as a man, i must put myself in some men's shoes and then try to rationalize why the married one's cheat.

1. Neglect of the man
Most married women tend to neglect the men when the kids start coming. No more loved up evenings, no more hanging out. They always claim to be tired even when they have maids. Men tend to seek solace outside because they need someone to hang out with, to watch movies with and to share romantic moments with. Unfortunately, many girls out there are willing to fill this vacuum.

“I am greeting you. I am saying how are you and the strike palaver. The aluta wahala.”

“So, that is why you are saying e ku strike. Is something wrong with you Yoruba people? Must you turn everything into a form of greeting?”

“You are insulting me?”

“I am making a statement”

“Meaning?”

“Any serious matter at all, you and your people must turn it into something else. E ku exchange rate? , E ku fuel scarcity? What kind of greeting is that? Note: it’s a comic relief about what actually took place

According to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus, Peace is a state of tranquility or quiet, freedom from civil disturbance, a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom.

We were told in GST 222 that the presence of war is not the absence of peace, but may be the accumulation of several grievances by concerned party and it is a time bomb set to explode.

“Egbon what brought about that now”

“man I need to ascertain that quote in the face of hullabaloo going on”

“going on where?”

“aren’t you surprised seeing me move out of my sabbatical to do this?”

“am surprised too”

“the Saturday event that took place in Akungba community as a whole is what majority called protest, but I will be calling mine a quagmire, a hullabaloo and a big setback to the peace the school and the community together have been enjoying for years now.”

“what really caused it” “students of the University (AAUA) trooped to the town protesting the death of one of their colleagues killed by a motorcycle operator an indigene in of the town.

The deceased identified as Ojo Afolabi Daniel was a 200level student in the Department of Economic Education of the institution”

“what a sorry case that was”

“the incidence was never expected at this time in the semester”
“taught it rained that day?” “no be small thing”

EducationA Short Introduction To Economic History by frankwells(op): 12:14pm On Apr 06, 2016
An isolated study of any discipline without the knowledge of its past will only results to the study of “the unknown by the unknown”, that is, the subject is unaware of the object.

The non-availability of enough texts on the subject of Economic history has created a hole in the interest of students who are willing to dedicate themselves to its study.

Efforts in the past have been combined by several academicians in the field to come out with student desired text but, lack of reference materials which was as a result of the neglecting nature of this aspect of the discipline has denied them this right.

“If Economics is what economists do

then History is what Historians do.”

This book has been researched through rigorous investigation on economic history with special works on the meaning of economic history, its relationship with other cognate disciplines, its evolution, its objectives and importance, its branches, its study approaches, its theories including economic schools of thought, different economic systems in historical perspective and numberless of other interesting and knowledge impacting issues.

“Economic without History has no root,
and history without economics has no fruit”

In other to avoid under-standard work on both sides, the book has adopted simplified approach and enjoyed research works of three great researchers in the field.

The book we trust will perform a function of intellectual dis virginity in student economic history curricular and give an insight into other related fields. It is a must read.

shehu313:
PDP and the South’s Hope for the 2019 Presidential Election: Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky for President!

Opinion Column

By: Mehdi Garba Shehu

With the current onslaught of the fight against corruption by the current dispensation of the Muhammadu Buhari led APC government, many are of the opinion that the fight against corruption is politicized and targeting mainly, or even only opposition politicians. It appears as if there are no corrupt politicians under the APC, even though a chunk of them were formerly part and parcel of the ruling PDP between 1999-2015. By the current shape of the PDP and the atmosphere of the polity in Nigeria, one would have no choice but to pity the PDP and its figures. If such onslaught were to be sustained as it appears based on observation, the party may well be forced to change its name or file for political bankruptcy and possibly even disappear from the political scene in the country come 2019. Its image has already being rubbished through the arrests of its figures who are have been given the corruption crown. At such a scenario of a dying party, staunch PDP states, especially of the South East and South South zones would be left exposed to the silent but edible political coercion of the APC and that would translate that they decamp to and become orphans adopted by the APC.

With current the dire economic situation in the country with almost a year after the transition from PDP to APC rule, most people can count nothing as achievements of the new president than his self-acclaimed fight against corruption, however shady and suspicious the fight maybe viewed by some or many. Incessant fuel queues continue to appear, and high foreign exchange rates, power outage, high rate of inflation, and unemployment persist. It has come to the point whereby Nigerians are questioning the change slogan that swept the Buhari led APC into power last year, with some referring to the change as scam, or chain (in the sense of a political and economic transition into bondage). The slogan of “Sai Baba” has transformed into “Chai Baba” just within a year!

Undoubtedly, the weaknesses and excesses of the Jonathan led administration played the biggest part in securing the victory of an aged, primitive and lost soldier in civilian clothing (more or less like a wolf in sheep’s clothing) into the presidential villa in 2015. Aside from the poor economic showing under the APC, there are also the government sanctioned killings of civilians both in the North and the South, and also the disrespect for the rule of law and the judiciary. Nigerians belonging to minority tribal and religious leanings continue to be heavy-handedly persecuted and indiscriminately killed, and jailed without bail or charge indefinitely.

With the current show of force, and the disregard for democratic processes whereby a sitting president has no shame to declare that he cannot grant bail to a political dissident using the words “I cannot”-as if he were a judge sitting in a court of law- and taking the rule of law away from the courts, Nigerians have a lot to worry about; politically, economically and security wise. There is a wolf in sheep clothing ruling the country. In fact, a lost wolf ready to devour both the rights of Nigerians, and the Nigerian citizens themselves! Congratulations “Sai Baba” chanters, you are official in the bondage you voted for and the change you asked for, even though the cluelessness of the Jonathan administration was by no measure a better option, but only less deadly and shameless as to when the rights of the people are trampled upon.

With no formidable opposition party at the moment, Nigeria more or less appears to be heading to a one party system in the next presidential election. Political parties that are smaller than the main opposition party, the PDP, would be picnic for the APC. The only option remains for the PDP to endure and remain intact and look for a credible presidential candidate to fly its ticket in the next election: a patriotic figure of integrity that can be trusted by the nation for being incorruptible and one with presidential posture to assume leadership to respect the rights of minorities and every Nigerian.

Going by the politics in the Middle East where Muslims are increasingly divided along sectarian/religious lines, the Christians have no better political allies than the Shia (Shi’ite) Muslims as can be viewed in the Middle East.

After the Zaria massacre that resulted in the killings of hundreds of harmless civilians both on the highway where a confrontation with the army appeared, and off the highway (in the house of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, the Shia worship center (Husseiniyyah), and the movement’s cemetery which were also illegally demolished by soldiers) where soldiers stormed in madness to sniff out the life of every innocent Nigerian Shi’ite soul in a brutal show of force and complete disregard for human life to give the Wolf of Aso Rock his well deserved title of being a blood thirsty tyrant and to send the message into the air that a “tough” deadly soldier is in power, three months and counting, hundreds killed are yet to be properly buried (said to have been buried in mass graves by soldiers to hide crimes against humanity), hundreds arrested and imprisoned are yet to be charged or granted bail, and hundreds missing are yet to be found.

From the case Lebanon,a Middle Eastern country that is multi-religious, the Shia Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah happens to be the ally of the largest Lebanese Christian party, the Free Patriotic Movement led by a Christian former Lebanese Army chief General Michel Aoun, in the Lebanese parliament. Hezbollah has also gone ahead to stand out as a (Shi’ite) Muslim group against the rampaging Wahhabi terrorists such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front in neighboring Syria, and Hezbollah fights alongside the Syrian Arab Army in support of the legitimate authority of Syria and President Bashar al-Assad. Much alike, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has literally saved the lives of hundreds of Christians, in particular during the 2011 post election violence, when Buhari’s rampaging hordes of Salafist/Wahhabi bloodsucking supporters were shedding the blood of innocent Christians in the North who had no relations whatsoever to Goodluck Jonathan, and at best, they could have only practiced their democratic rights by voting for their candidate of choice.

Gyellesu in Zaria, the headquarters of the Shi’ite Islamic Movement in Nigeria was safe haven for fleeing Christians, especially Igbos. The youth scouts of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria stood ground to protect the fleeing souls who wanted safe shelter until the storm of political violence and religious madness had subsided.

A Shi’te Hezbollah fighter saluting a statue of Christ in Syria’s Qalamoun region after liberating its from Wahhabi/Salafist terrorists.

For the 2019 presidential elections, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky should be approached by the PDP to rescue the party and accept the party nomination to bear its flag against the APC candidate, who would most likely be the incumbent president. Such a move will have deep and wide ramifications in the politics of Nigeria and it will be a historical point whereby more tolerant of Christians/Non-Muslimsand accommodating Muslims, i.e. the Shi’ites, will form an unbroken political alliance with the Southern Christians. This alliance will go a very long way to shape the political landscape in the country and bury the northern “born to rule” mentality espoused by Sunni Muslims. The Shi’ites are very much opposed to the monarchy system, and therefore the “born to rule” mentality by any emir or sultan is very much against Shi’ite doctrine of equality among the human race.

Many would want to know the feasibility of filing Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky as the presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2019 presidential election. When it comes to the numbers, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has followers, mainly in the North, estimated to be a minimum of 5 to 10 million, and a maximum of 15 to 25 million. A Christian-Shi’ite Muslim political alliance in elections would means winning over the born to rule mentality, and breaking the votes in the north. Significantly, the South West will no longer have the sole power as the tie breaker. It will strike an electoral balance that can pacify the North for many years to come.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria has so far stirred clear of Nigerian politics and chose to be solely a religious and social movement. The movement’s leadership also dissuades its followers from voting or taking part in elections as they view most politicians as corrupt and untrustworthy. If this does change and the movement chooses to use its popular weight in politics after the unjust killings it has suffered for being a minority religious group, then a large chunk of northern votes would be guaranteed for the PDP or any opposition supported by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

Currently, three months after the Zaria Massacre, al-Zakzaky remains in custody along with his wife, both of whom were said to have been shot multiple times by rampaging soldiers, without bail, and without charge and that means extra-judicially. Obviously, the APC government is lost in finding a solution or way out to its crimes as the plethora of claims thrown at the Islamic Movement in Nigeria right from the road block shooting by soldiers at exuberant and angry protesting youths to the aftermath of the onslaught at the Husseiniyah and the cleric’s house can best be described as lame and unjustified in the face of the wanton killings of innocent Nigerian Shi’ite Muslims in the aftermath of the roadblock that ensued in a religious center and at private properties. The image of a bloodied al-Zakzaky loaded into a wheelbarrow by soldiers remains fresh in the memory of those who followed the news of the Zaria Massacre that lasted between the 12th to the 14th of December, 2015, and which also claimed the lives of three biological sons of the cleric, making in total six sons that al-Zakzaky has lost to rampaging beasts in military uniform. Three sons were also killed in July 2014 during a traffic incident and right of passage altercation between soldiers and a religious procession of the IMN, and the then president, Goodluck Jonathan, was quick to personally call Zakzaky on phone and issue his apology for the loss of life of three biological sons of the cleric and 30 other members of the movement. That position and reaction of the then president can be contrasted with the reaction of the current president after a higher death toll and bigger destruction of properties.

A popular Zakzaky, whose restraint and patience in the face of losing six sons, and his insistence on non-violence preaching would be the best ally of northern extraction for the South to face the APC tyrant in the next presidential election. Zakzaky’s record of being incorruptible and a symbol of integrity are impeccable in Nigeria. Being from a Shi’ite background and holding on to Shi’ite doctrines which promotes and respects the freedom and right of belief for others based on Quranic verses (2:256; 18:28; 109:6) completely ignored by extremist Sunnis, particularly the Sunnis of the Wahhabi/Salafist ideology, Zakzaky would be the much wished for symbol for Christian-Islamic unity in Nigeria. After the Zaria Massacre, and the restraint and peaceful reaction of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, the popularity of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and the personality of Zakzaky are on the rise. Reaching understanding with Zakzaky, who is destined to be released for his innocence and immense loss of the lives of his followers and family members, is the way out for the PDP in the 2019 presidential election. No matter what the naysayers do or how they react to this suggestion, the good thing is that any human being from any religious or political or ethnic background can reach an understanding with a Shi’ite Muslim, which is far from the case with a Wahhabi/Salafist devoid of reason or human sympathy.

Jokes EtcGuys, Silly Things You Should Stop Doing When Your Are 25yrs & Above by frankwells(op): 10:34am On Mar 17, 2016
AGE they say doesn't define maturity or wisdom but that is not excusable for absolutely behaving like a kid. I'm sure you have seen at least one "childish" guy even though he's through with his degree but still thinks and behaves like a pry 2 school boy

Being mature means a man is able to care of himself and approaches problems with a calm and collected manner. He understands the importance of being a man, being independent and values what he has. One doesn't necessarily have to be rich before he's being regarded as matured, but needs to have a good orientation about money making and ability to influence others to the best of his capabilities

Sadly, the fact that you could admit to see a part of yourself doing one of these things even till now does not give you the audacity to throw punches at me because we are ALL Evolving and we have some maturing to do.

Thanks for taking your time to read Tosyne2much's write-up cheesy

Without further ado, let's get started

Guys, Silly Things You Should Stop Doing When Your Are 25yrs& Above

1. Writing Yourself Off Because Of Your Financial Status
Many guys believe that if you consistently make money you will get the lady you desire. This is complete bogus. Your money can however get you a money-grubbing lady that would zoom off when your cash flow no longer meet her needs

CelebritiesWe Need Lovely, Not Sexy By Reno Omokri by frankwells(op): 9:20am On Mar 12, 2016
As a young boy growing up in 1980s Nigeria, I knew Black women as lovely women who exuded charm and breeding in their dressing, their demeanor and in their mannerisms. In fact, the epitome of loveliness was Nigeria's then First Lady, Maryam Babangida.

Mariam was dark skinned and proud of it. She did not bleach her skin neither did she contour her face with pancake powder to make her appear lighter. She was a lovely Black woman and proud of it. And when you looked at her, you knew that Black was and still is beautiful.

I may be wrong, but I was a very observant boy and I cannot once remember Maryam

Babangida wearing any Western style clothes. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but Maryam was able to look lovely and elegant in African fabrics designed by African tailors.

And it was not just Maryam Babangida, although she set the pace. Even our female pop stars of that era were lovely women who were proud of their Blackness.

I remember Onyeka Onwenu. She was elegance personified. She had an Afro and it was cute. Her contemporary was Christy Essien-Igbokwe and like Onyeka, she was a paragon of Black feminine loveliness.

And it was not just First Ladies of politics and pop music. Even our On Air Personalities and TV anchor women were of the same bent. You had Ruth Benamaisia, Tokunbo Ajayi, Bimbo Roberts and many others.

In fact, the very first major star of Nigeria's then burgeoning film and theater industry (the precursor of Nollywood) Patti Boulaye, (née Patricia Ngozi Ebigwei) was a clone of Maryam Babangida. Very dark skinned, high and pronounced cheek bones and most important of all, not ashamed of it. Her starring role in Bisi, Daughter of the River, paved the way for dark skinned lovelies here at home and in England where she became a major star.

I cite these examples to show that being a Black woman used to mean that you were a lovely woman.

But something has changed. Today, I cannot flip through the pages of newspapers and magazines or browse social media without seeing bleached Black women in very revealing outfits being celebrated not for any positive thing that they have achieved but rather because they flaunt their cleavage, their buttocks, thighs and other parts of their bodies.

Where we as a society used to promote the ideal woman as being lovely, today, our women want to be seen as being sexy. And being sexy appears to be code for looking light skinned, flaunting barely clothed bodies with heads covered in imported 'Brazilian' hair.

Why must a woman be sexy? I would have thought that it would have been better to be lovely than it is to be sexy.

I mean there is a reason the great singer, Stevland Hardaway Morris (better known as Stevie Wonder) composed a hit song titled 'Isn't She lovely'.

Loveliness is a better ideal for women to aspire to than sexiness. And you do not have to bleach or contour or hide your Afro under Brazilian hair to be lovely.

Mrs. Aisha Buhari is Black, beautiful and lovely. Ngozi Chimamanda Adichie is Black, beautiful and lovely. Chidinma of the kedike fame is Black, beautiful and lovely. Omotayo Omotosho is Black, beautiful and lovely. Molara Wood is Black, beautiful and lovely. There are many Black, beautiful and lovely women in Nigeria and we should promote that ideal rather than this westernized ideal of the 'sexy' woman.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word 'sexy' means "sexually attractive" while the word 'lovely' means "exquisitely beautiful". As a woman, ask yourself which of these two ideals you really want for yourself?

I am convinced Satan promotes the word sexy so we can see women as sex objects, but God promotes the word lovely so we can see them as beings to be loved.

Let us go back to The Bible were it all began and see what it tells us.

In Esther 2:17 we read that "Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other".

Why did Esther obtain this favour? It is a historical fact that King Xerxes had many SEXY women in his harem. Yet despite the multiplicity of sexiness available to him, it was the LOVELY Esther he chose as his queen. Why?

That is the question we are going to examine in the rest of this piece.

Women should think about the type of men they attract if they aspire to look sexy as opposed to if they aspire is to look lovely.

The truth is that women who look lovely attract men looking for love while women who look sexy attract men looking for sex.

That is just the bitter truth. Some may call me misogynistic but I have a wife and a daughter that will testify to how I treat them like queens. Truth is bitter, lies are butter. One will purge you while the other will make you fat!

Even among animals, a lioness is a lovely animal and that is why she stays in a pride with her lion mate. The lion will protect her and together they will raise a family of cubs that stay with them until they start their own pride or are absorbed into another pride.

You see, a lioness has pride because she is lovely.

I want to encourage our women to see themselves as lovely. They do not need to flaunt their most delicate parts because that is what Western women do.

If they must flaunt anything, let our lovely women flaunt their intelligence, their characters and their Blackness.

Let us retain or return to the ideal of Black womanhood, where the Black woman is unashamedly Black, elegant, pure and a pillar of her home and her community.

Romance8 Evidences That Show A Lady Will Become A Stingy Wife by frankwells(op): 6:07pm On Mar 11, 2016
It perplexes me when a lady often nags and finds fault in everything just because her boyfriend is going through difficult time but the moment he climbs the ladder of success and achieves greatness, she will start being tolerant and nice even though she has been a nagging girlfriend.

When this character is noticed in a lady, it should ring a bell to guys that careful tactful need to be employ when dealing with such lady.

Below are the evidences that shows a lady will become very stingy when you marry her.

1. She presents inferior gifts to her boyfriend

For a lady who present inferior gifts such as N100 recharge card, mallam perfume, slippers, china boxers and singlets as birthday gift for her boyfriend shows that she will become a stingy and disastrous wife. It's a shameful thing to see how some ladies treat their boyfriends like a worthless dog hereby presenting an inferior gift to a guy who went extra mile to please them during their birthday celebration.
