Eweleke! That means your time line and wait was very long then. Your lawyer visited you early unlike me. This is fifth fourth month. Yet no lawyer visitation. Had my appointment on 5th of January.

Glory to God finally God has done it for me.
I got a mail from the embassy to submit my and my children's insurance and travel date yesterday.
Finally I can sleep well after a whole year of processing this visa.

No I can't be offended na.

There are forms to fill. I stay with my parents, so we filled together. The Lawyer will visit your parents If you are not with them. So just let them know ahead or better still if you can get a sibling of yours to help out if you cannot be with them when they are being visited.
Questions like where were you born? When an where did you meet your spouse? What was your spouse doing before he left Nigeria? What are you doing yourself? What I your spouse currently doing in Germany? Few basic questions to confirm you understand German language to an extent?.

The first form you will fill (you and your parents) is like the one we filled, printed and that was submitted at the interview, its just to confirm that information you are filling tallies with the one they have (the Lawyer will come with it).

The second form is just to write about yourself, your parents will write about you too on their own forms. Its like a personal statement about you sort of. Then you sign.

Signature must also tally with what they have.

Sigh, it is more than exhausting. If someone had told me I’ll still be here this month & still no hope of a response anytime soon, I’d have given the person a very heavy swear😭😂.

My husband said it’s cause of the Ukrainian stuff, that it’s really slowed down a lot in Germany/ his city, not even sure which. @ lawyer, does it really work? Cause I have a friend who used a lawyer from the onset but still he had to wait for the 13 months appointment ish & times when his lawyer tried to hasten things up, he was told everything has process & he just has to wait for his turn 🥺

Apart from the Ukrainian issue,they are just hell bent on frustrating us. They know that we are the majority. I mean FRV visa application that isn't Blue card or DAAD. If they allow us all in quickly that will affect their tax system. The tax class of our spouses will change and they will also have to pay more child benefits. This kind of puts a drain on their economic pocket so that's why they stall the whole process for two plus more years. That's how I reason it o.
But after rain comes sunshine 😊.

Not at all sis, I’m not offended o, im very far from it as a matter of fact. I honestly asked cause I need answers to my reason for waiting since German embassy won’t say a word as well.

I received verification success mail in January,and till this second, no mail from them. Whether reunion is called ordinary or almighty, it doesn’t make the process/ waiting period any shorter 😃.

Please I never meant any offence but if you have followed the trend of how visas are issued , blue card holders are prioritized. Theirs is sharp sharp. I also belong to the waiting list. Or maybe it's the word"ordinary" that put you off. Maybe I should have used anther word like "normal". But if one's spouse is neither a blue card holder nor a DAAD scholar what kind of fRV will we call it? . Aside of these two groups the rest of us have to wait longer. I belong to the third group (I don't know what to call it now make people no vex🤣🤣) that waits for a longer time. I was only trying to sympathize with Babbbbbyyyyy. E go reach all of us hand. Please find the breakdown details, waiting and patience.
The matter of this German Visa is just not for the fainted heart, it would break you , but don't give up.

1. May 2019. Applied for the family reunion, at the time waiting period was like 9 months. for me it was still long

2. Then Applied for Schengen visa in December 2019, I block about 3K Euro for my spouse, The fee would be used in deporting her in case , she overstay the 90 days.
The documents is very strong even though I had another support letter from DAAD (with monthly stipends she's entitled when she arrived)

Same December 2019, she did the interview for the Schengen visa and it was rejected (Reason: There were not sure we would return back home)

3. Same December 2019, I Appeal for the decision, attaching landed properties, Joint family account, work contract from Nigeria with bond, still rejected

4. Same December 2019, i was frustrated and went to the Ausländer Behörde, they said. It's Lagos decision not theirs and they calm me down and ask me to go home and see my family, they would write to Lagos to give us the family reunion date

5. January 2020, Appointment for the earlier Family Reunion enter and slated for March 2020

6. February 2020, DAAD bought a ticket for me to go see my family and I would use the opportunity to return with her after the family reunion Visa.

7. March 2020, Corona started and the Visa appointment was cancelled and we would be contacted, i remain in Nigeria for about 7 months with my family.

8. May 2020 we welcome our Princess.

9. We kept waiting for new appointment, but there is none for over 2 years.
I didn't called or emailed. That was the greatest mistake, if the embassy are dead silence, send them email upon email.

10. August 2022, i got tired and send them email almost every week, explaining my cancel appointment during the covid 19 lockdown.

11. September 2022, we got appointment for my spouse, she went for the interview; unfortunately my daughter was not booked, until October 2022.

12. September 2022, i got a call from ABH, unfortunately they can't issue a Visa to my spouse because of the call of residence permit I was holding. I hold the Job seeker post study visa, i explained to the officer, i do have a professional job and she request for my work contract immediately and payslip for the past 3 months

23. ABH invite my next day to come over and change my Visa status and I was issue a fiction immediately and my wife visa was approval was put unhold, when she was we had a little princess and her application was not capture. ABH said we can't leave a minor at home, we should apply for her Visa

24. October 2022, my little one had her Visa interview and the ABH received it, then my spouse visa was approved

25. November, Email for Lagos, we should submit A1. The same day, i enroll my spouse for intensive Language classes via online (4 weeks)

26. December 2022, she Ace the A1 Language Exam and we forward it to ABH, and Lagos

27. December 2022, Lawyer came. All documents check, no discrepancies or what so ever. but guy man requesting for token , let him speed the report, even though I paid for his Hotels and feeding for two days and movements during the verification process.

I wonder the kind of some hungry lawyers Wey the embassy dey take to work for them.

28. January 2023. Silence
29. February 2023 . Silence
30. February 2023. I was in Nigeria for the general elections and hoping we get the visa and return together
31. March 2023, i return back to DE
32. March 2023, Two weeks later after my return to DE, we got an email from Lagos, that verification is complete.
33. March 2023, After the email, got a call from ABH, to confirm if am still working in my company, if yes, send 3 months payslip. I did immediately

34. March 2023, got an email to send passport and travel date, health insurance.

35. Bought Travel health insurance from AXA mansard for my spouse and little about 32K.

36. I activated, the tracking information of my Return courier envelope and boom, April 10th the package was pick for on ward delivery.

37. 3 days after , package was in same location of DHL, we went to DHL office and complain. The dispatch officer was called and we met at a shopping mall to collect it.

38. Package open at the mall and boom visa stamp for the next 90 days.

39. Preparation still on going for travels.


Bonus Update for expenses.

1. Flight ticket for spouse from North to Lagos, to and fro ( 100K plus)

2. Accomodations in V.I ( 50k for two nights)

3. UBER ( approximately 20k, this includes airport pick up, and movement to embassy)

4. Visa fee 35k, verification 150k.

5. Daughter and mom again flight ticket to and fro (150k plus)

6. Hotel accomodations for two nights in VI (50k)

7. Über approximately 20K

8. Biometric passport (5K)

9. Language classes online intensive 250K

10. New laptop for the online classes 120k

11. MTN MIFI 10k, data 10k

12. Goethe Institut exams 55k

13. Flight ticket to Lagos for A1 exams (approximately 100K)

14. Hotel for one night 20k

15. Uber 15k including airport drop off

16. Lawyer visit, hotel 30k for two nights, 10k fuel ⛽ for vehicle.

17. Flight ticket to Germany, 1.2M


So man, this journey is not for the fainted. It would break you at some point, but don't give up.

My husband called ABH and they said the finished with our case since 5th of January,that the approval was sent. But embassy said that verification process takes about 6months, does that mean I should expect to hear from them by May🤯
I did my interview in October,I'm just confused. Does anyone have a number for the verification office please.

In my opinion I think the status of the spouse in Germany always depend on the process time for the visa. The blue card holders always have their spouse application processed very fast and maybe tye PHd candidates roo.

Lol. I think most of us are in the waiting period. Either waiting for embassy, lawyer or ABH. It’s pretty tense and nervy. I had hoped my wife’s visa would be out by Easter and we would celebrate together but embassy get another idea. Hopefully the next few weeks would see further visa approvals

I did interview with my kids on February 2, unfortunately i lost one of ny child and i wrote to the embassy too. March 13, i got a mail to submit passport with proposed travel date, i Worte planned travel date to be 1st April. I sent the required documents and passport on the 15th of this month. Today is 29th and I'm yet to receive i and my son's passport.
Please what do I do about this, from my findings they should have sent back the passport and documents but they haven't, please what can I do, i need help Asap because my husband already booked our flight for 3rd of April.

You can try calling the courier service to find out if it has been dispatched.
