Oracle12: Go a head and process your change of name on passport. If it comes out before you are asked to submit your passport at the embassy, submit both, but let them know one is old and the visa should be on the new one. Its really a very easy matter, nothing to worry about. Thank you |

Ahmed4002: Please Hold on, until the embassy request for the change of name.
Don't complicate issues for yourself. Ok. Thank you |

IAD2020: I think you should start the process of changing your name on your passport. Since you already submitted newspaper publication, they will most likely ask for it. You'd need to do an affidavit too for the change of name. Also, the passport office might ask for the newspaper publication to process the change of name on your passport. Ok Thanks |

Please House how does one go about change of name on international passport? I applied for my FRV using my maiden name and I also submitted newspaper publication change of name for my new surname. Please will this pose a problem when I am asked to submit my passport for the visa stamp? When is the right time to start processing the change of name on my passport with immigrations? Do I hold on until the embassy requests for it or start process of change of name on my passport with immigrations now? Please I await responses. Thank you. |

Please house I just wanted to know your opinions and to find out if anyone else had my experience. On the very day of my interview, at the end of the interview the visa officer gave me two form to fill. Both forms were written in Deutsch. But on one of the forms I saw a duration of three months. The sentences in the form was written in German. But I remembered seeing a sentence like "gultig von Januar bis Marz". My interview was in January. Does this mean a waiting period after the interview? I don't know if anyone came across such form. I was told to sign it but I didn't understand what the form meant. Anyone with such experience? |

jbonito: Yes, verification complete email from the embassy was immediately followed by the request for document from the ABH. I routinely sent a mail to the embassy via their contact form and also contacted my ABH to establish application status. I never received a response from the embassy but I like to assume it helped somehow. Please what is the contact form? How can I find it online? Thanks |

Ameenahhh: I had my interview in January too, I was asked not to pay, and they’ve still not reached out. I haven’t heard a thing from the embassy. Is your spouse a DAAD scholar or a blue card holder? I had my interview in the first week of January. |

[quote author=Oracle12 post=123210288]His wife was simply told by the VO that their is no need for verification for their case. I have no idea what yardstick they use.
What do you mean by the above statement? You didn't pay for visa fees?
Visa fee and verification fee are two different things [/qu
I gave an example that in my case I didn't pay the visa and the VO gave me the reason why. The VO said since my spouse was German who also pays his taxes that I should only pay the verification fee. So I was asking if the VO told your friends's wife the EXACT reason why she shouldn't pay the verification fee since you said her spouse wasn't a blue card holder. |

Oracle12: Just curious.
I have the EU Blue Card, my wife went for re-union appointment at the embassy this week and was not asked to pay for verification fee.
A friend's (who does not have the Blue Card, normal work visa) wife I know went also in March and was not asked to pay. ABH wrote him in April, like 6 weeks after the appointment to submit some required documents as per usual.
I am now wondering, has the process changed since this year? Is there no more verification somehow?
Please reply if you went this year and what was your experience.
PS: If you paid for verification, do you have a child? I think they always do verification for people with a +1. I'm trying to see if there is a pattern here. Thanks I did my interview in January 2023. I paid the verification fee of 150k. This month of May is almost ending I still haven't heard from my lawyer. Did your friend's wife insist on paying and it was rejected? There are some people that were called back later to pay the fee. Most times the interview officer tells you the reason why a fee is waived. For example the visa officer that interviewed me told me why I shouldn't pay the visa fee. If they want to change the process please let them change it. Haba! The stress is too much. They can verify documents but let them scrap out this lawyer visit of a thing chai. That's the one that is paining me o. |

Babbbbbbbbby: Good morning everyone, please does anyone know how I can locate my lawyer? Its been 7months since interview and still no lawyer. My husband called one of those imigration office in Germany and he was told that there has been no update from the lawyer. That the system just shows that the verification has be initiated but it hasn't been completed making me come to the conclusion that the lawyer is the one delaying my process. I have sent emails to the embassy and no response,I feel crippled and I don't know what to do 🥺🥺🥺 Hello have you been contacted yet? I haven't though. Sending you cyber hugs. |

PS - spouse is a blue card holder and wasn’t required to do verification. Also, reaching out to the embassy helps a lot, via email, not phone cos the woman that picks the call can discourage you. For each of the milestones above, reached out to the embassy a day or two before Congratulations 🎉👏👏 |

Mopricelezz: I had no idea we are to add middle name to the first name. I booked for myself and our kids using just surname and first name, since there was no space for middle name. Do I have to go do an affidavit for the reconciliation of names for all of us? And please can I see a sample of the affidavit of reconciliation of names please. We booked since last year. If you can not cancel and book again, then I think that's what you should do to be on the safer side. You get the affidavit from the court. They have the format. You will state that (quote the two names) is the same person as (quote the three names) as seen on the international passport and all other documents. Just tell the court the issue. They know how to type the affidavit. Then you will have to do this individually for each child . That's is if you are far gone and can't rebook the appointments again. My one cent. |

StarryStarry: Please what if I only use just my Surname and First name only will their be any issue cus have already submitted the booking now waiting for the confirmation Mail . Thanks I booked with just my name and surname and didn't have any issues with the man at the gate. My passport carries three names. Although I went with an affidavit of reconciliation of names because my some of my certificates carried my first name and surname while others had my first name, surname and third name. I wonder why they didn't create a place for a third name. I ll suggest you just get an affidavit of reconciliation of names stating your three names, that you are one and the same person. |

Oby94: Good morning Landers...
I have come to testify God's mercy.... And tell how it all went..
June 2021... Booked for an appointment (i was pregnant, Gave birth October 2021….. my baby clocked 2months, i booked for him as well)
July 2022.... We both went for interview... . Dead silence.... Until
October 2022... Got a call from the lawyer,
November 2022.... We met the lawyer...(he had already gone to the north to verify my primary and secondary school).. cos i was born and bred in KD State, then relocated to Onitsha... ( sometimes, Northern verifications is another factor for delay, some lawyers are scared to travel to the north for an applicants sake) . Silence again . February 2023.... Verification complete mail was sent...
March 23th 2023.... Embassy requested for our passports, travel insurance and date... Which we sent immediately..
April 3 2023.... Our documents arrived with stamped Visas
April 26... We left Nigeria and landed in Frankfurt 27th April 2023..
I must confess, this group helped me mentally, when i got to know i wasn't waiting alone, there was some sort of relief 😮💨.... May we all get what we've been waiting for, IJN AMEN 🙏🙏🙏 Congratulations 🎉👏 |

Babbbbbbbbby: Please ! Please! Those who located their lawyers, how did you do it? You can send an email to obong_awan2015@yahoo.com if you don't want to write it here please. Dear Sis 7months is a long time to cause one serious frustration. My own frustration has began to build. Mine has been four months. I just sent them a mail today that I haven't seen my lawyer yet. You can send them a mail too. I ll try calling them on Monday too. The only issue is most times the customer service person isn't very nice. Although I called in the past as regards other issues not visa issues and she wasn't so nice. When I dialed the embassy number, it said "for visa issues press 1, for othe issues press 2" . When I press 1, it doesn't connect. I ll try again on Monday. Wahala no too much? All these shall come to pass someday.😟 |

Nnennaaaaaaaaaa: Lmao, yess, that’s why I said everyone should keep sending that reminder mail, I wasn’t in a hurry so I didn’t push. I recall the church I was baptized in refused to sign the form they came with (fear of scammers lol), & they had visited there 3 times so I knew I had to apply pressure.
There were literally some loop holes here and there. About 6 months into the verification I got a call that my brother wasn’t snapped while he filled his form and that my application was flagged cause of that so that’s why the embassy hadn’t sent a verification success. My brother had to meet up with the guy & they sorted it out. Still I didn’t push, then 10 months into the verification I reached out to the embassy and informed I hadn’t heard from them and it had been 10 months in, the next day I got the verification success mail & proceeded to apply for my sons’ passport.
So yea, I sort of blame myself for also keeping quiet cause I feel I would have been long sorted before now. Mhen this is no longer child's play o. Even external factors such as siblings as in your case can delay the matter? Chai. God abeg o. Please how did you contact the embassy? Did you contact them yourself? Through which address? Na WA oooo the matter ehn, is not for the faint hearted.🙏 |
