About my school, had my first degree at ife. Am 98% sure that it doesn't happen there.
One of my padis working in Angola went through that program and he came out in flying colours. I also know of some through him that went through the same process.
Don't get me wrong here, not all are involved in such, some do go through the system well its just that those I happen to know had to pay their way out. They couldn't leave their excellent jobs, of cos I wouldn't advise that and at the same time needed the bsc badly becos of discrimination. The bottom line is they are good at what they are doing. Very happy for them.

Bros, nor waste ur time wth B.Eng/PGD. Computer Science is synonymous with entrepreneurship, again, my opinion.

My advise? Sharpen ur programme writing skills, arm ur-self with all the certifications you can find and let jobs come running after u. It might be a good idea to get urself attached to a coy while doing these, just to pay the bills and further ur skills acquisition.

1st things 1st: KNOW THY SELF. Cliche or not, u'll only be ignoring this age-long saying @ ur own peril. Now that u've discovered urself, exploit it 2 the fullest.

Mine was simple: I made sure to listen attentively and overcome all manner of distraction, with this, I only need an hr @ night (reading in an undisclosed/unknown location to my friends), when my colleagues have gone to class for all night reading.

Suffice 2 say, I turned hero/genius in the eyes of colleagues who failed to discover/utilize their strong points.

its true Uniport does this but makes sure u are loaded heavily (Money) because u are basically buying the degree IMO.

I didn't buy mine. Cost me much stress, 3 yrs+ & enough social life sacrifice. To each his/her own.

@ enitan: I used 2 be an HND holder b4 I converted to B.Eng. IMO, naija favours Degree holders to Diploma holders, strictly my opinion. Well, I thank God, I didn't make same mistake twice (opting for PGD instead of B.Eng), I'm now better off for it.

I don't work in a parastatal. I work in a multinational firm. Of course, I'm aware that Mobil and Elf do accept H.N.D, I assure you, entry with that will limit you to a technologist ceiling. My own firm requires a minimum of B.Eng/B.Sc for Engineers (not Technologist). Although, man know man has started creeping in, but most department (99.9%) where I work will insist on degree!

Depends on what OP is interested in. Most coy/establishment requires a minimum of B.Sc/B.Eng for entry. Attaining a PGD lures one into a false sense of security that B.Sc is needless, like I said, it depends on what the OP wants.

Depends on ur course of study. Uni-Port (Rivers state) offers conversion programme for Engineering disciplines only, I think it takes 3-4 yrs depending on ur grade (HND) & ur O' level English Language grade as well.

trust me, I can relate to ur post! Took me a long while to get over my own traumatizing experience with them!!!

I left church one Sunday morning and was in a hurry to meet up with an appointment, there was this police van infront of me, I tried overtaking it because of my pressing appointment and was ordered to stop. Before I could say waddup! Gun totting police men had surrounded my car threatening to shoot.

Being a reserved, publicity shy dude, I almost collapsed with fright and embarassment. They kept saying all sort of things, my church people passed by and some advised me to be calm and cooperate, while others had some funny look on their face like (hmmmm, he must be a criminal). My people, when these useless police noticed tears stinging my eyeballs, they finally felt remorseful and apologetic! Rubbish.
