Goat business is profitable and with some guidance and patience anyone will sure make a living from it.
The market for goats is high and will continue to increase yet many young folks are not looking into this direction. Whether you desire to go into goat farming or simply rearing for personal purposes, we are willing to provide guidance.

If you simply want to go into buying and selling of goats, which is very lucrative!

Decide what type of goat business you want to do
Goat business is a diversified business. Goats
produce diary and meat, aside the excreta and hair.
Goats can also be bred to sell. As a business
owner explore these different aspects of the business and make money. Decide on which areas you want to focus your attention on.
Identify the purpose of your goat farming business there are no hard things and anyone can do it with a bit of commitment and guidance.

Does one need big money to start goat Business? No, as you will discover later on.

Can one even start with zero budget ?
Can one start small ? Yes as you will discover later on.
What about feeding issue any ways around this without big budget? Yes

Shelter and security ? Yes very serious issues but there are ways around them.

Need for training ? Yes formal or informal
on the job or otherwise

Risk ? yes. moderate to high but can be mitigated .

profitable ? sure , profitable with ready market year round without religious, cultural or medical limitations

RAW BASICS!

1. decide your area of interest. I suggest you settle for goat meat production including live goats.

2. decide that you will run it as a business. give a name to it: e.g Nakaloke Goat enterprise, after you have enough funds you may register it later but have record books and treat it as a full fledged business entity even if you are doing it part time.

3. you can do it full time or part time but you need to schedule your time to see the goats daily. don't delegate yet. start part time. later employ attendants.

4.start small to gain experience at least for a few months. do it at this stage alone. start with 10 goats of mixed breeds but don't worry too much about breeds at this stage. if you start with 50 goats chances are high that you will fail or be discouraged except you hire experienced hands which will increase your budget.

4. secure space for your goat project.
do you really need a large space for goats ? do you need grazing pasture ? is the extensive system of goat management still profitable for commercial goat business ? what is the current trend that is profitable in the long term ?
I will tell you. you don't need this kind of space people talk about. they are "old school" and rustic stuffs. from experience, culture, research and the science of goat you don't.

4. secure a space for your goat.
the popular belief is the that goats can be economically maintained ONLY under semi-intensive and extensive systems with a provision of grazing. however contrary to this , goats can be and have been raised successfully under intensive system of management both here in Africa and elsewhere. in fact most commercial goat farms in India are under extensive system.

so non access to grazing resources and large expanse of Land should not discourage intending commercial goat farmers.
the question therefore is this: how do you handle the issue of feeding without access to free large expanse of grasses?

you can start fodder beds around your home
make sure to understand goat feeding so you can use alternative supplement feeding!
✍just note that you can raise goats for profit without large expanse of land . in fact it is more profitable

question comes: are you saying that my large backyard is still OK for 10 goats? yes if you can secure them properly with good ventilation and protection from rain and adverse weather conditions. in fact there are several reasons why you need to start from your backyard or nearby space.

Goat Kids inherit their genetic potential from their parents. To breed high quality animals, only goats with superior characteristics should be selected and allowed to mate. They then transmit their superior characteristics to their kids. When this is done over a long period of time, it results in the improvement of the herd's genetics.

Therefor always strive for better quality in goat and more specifically in Bucks at the beginning of your goat Enterprise. Quality is more important than quantity in my opinion in the goat farming business., so always be selective and try to get the best quality you can for your budget.

You actually do not have to stop lecturing or resign your other job to rear goats. You can do both. We sell almost every breed of goat in the goat market, Kalahari, Savannah, Boer, West African Dwaf etc. And we deliver nationwide. Pick the breed(s) you want. Decide if you want the goats for meat, milk or fiber or a variety of others.

Buy all the supplies from us and we will teach you all the basics of goat care such as how to perform a health check, goat diseases, breeds of each variety of goats, recommended space per each animal and probably some handy first aid notes. Most of all, consider this an invaluable reference, even something to look back to in the future.

Buy all the supplies from us,

Build a fence. Buy fencing supplies for your farm from us. Be sure to get the services of a person who has built a fence before and bear in mind that goats will climb and rub themselves on even the toughest fences if not prevented. They may also try to squeeze through even the tiniest spaces even when it is obvious they cannot make it through, just make sure you build a separate strong buck pen in which the fences must be very strong, sturdy and very high. Keep in mind that this fence will keep your bucks in rut from your does especially during heat.

Build a shelter. The goats will need a place to shelter especially when the weather gets tough say during the rainy season and also during the dry spells. A small pole barn will work just fine, make sure the door is facing away from the weather. Goats can withstand the cold to a certain degree but they may need to be protected from the rain, having a draft free building will help them keep warm enormously. Make sure your buildings are compatible for renovation and provide the room for expansion, should your herd expand in future. Even if you don't think you will need the room, all too often you do and don't have the resources to do so with your current building if it was not factored in at the start.

Get the help of a professional farm like our farm, Make sure to buy good quality goats from us. You can reach us on: 09069268112

Breed your goats! Watch your goats carefully. When they go into heat, put them in with the male for a couple of days, or until you think they have mated. The longer they have been with the male, the larger range the expected due date will be, naturally this is important to some and not to others. A normal gestation period is 145 to 155 days, 150 being the average. Remember, bred and milking does need some extra care and may require you hire another hand.

Choose where to sell your product. Whether for meat, fiber, milk and cheese and even kids, it is important to have a market ready, just make sure you have somebody to buy.
Sell your product. Research what others are selling for in your area. You don't want to charge so much that you won't get business or so low that you lose money.

We have different species of Goats, sheeps and cattles for sale at an affordable. We offer nationwide delivery to anywhere you are in Nigeria. Build up your farm. As you get more customers, your demand will grow. Enlarge your pastures and buildings to accommodate the new additions and breed more goats.

NOTE: We receive calls and WhatsApp only , please don't text us because we might not be able to reply to your text due to the amount of messages we receive per day. I don't want to be selfish so I encourage you to start this business because it is a great money spinner.

STAGE 1: Total cost of constructing the pen
(Snail house) N5,000( *if you buy from us* )

STAGE 2: Cost of your labor

STAGE 3: Cost of buying breeder snails called point of lay @ N400 each ( 100 Pieces) #40,000 but we will give u 100 snails for #35,000 only if you are buying from our farm)

STAGE 4: Transportation of 100 snails to your location. (*This will be free if you buy from our farm* )

STAGE 5: Cost of feeding 100 snails using special snail formulated feed #8,000/per 25kg bag. This can feed the 100 snails for 3 months. 2 bags needed before harvest of snails for sale. (NB this is optional). ( *we will include the feed for your for just 8k* )

STAGE 6: Cost for buying fruits like pawpaw, watermelon for 6 months period ( #1000) But you can get them free from fruit vendors or plant them

TOTAL= N60,000

( *if we are the one going to supply u the snail and the house, then everything will cost you 60,000*, but we will not include the feed for you* ). In essence, N50,000 - N100,000 is enough to set up a snail farm; hence I can cateroically tell you that snail farming iis the cheapest, easiest and the safest form of farming investment ANYBODY can start...

At harvest if you bought 100 snails when each snails is expected to lay eggs at least twice in 6 months and each snail can lay 100 to 300eggs at a time. You multiply 100 by 100 that is 10,000 eggs in total you are likely to get.You can then sell off the parent stock and start breeding the baby snails to maturity.

If you sell each parent snail fully matured at #700 you will make a sale of N70,000 for the one hundred parent stock .Which you still have about 10,000 grower snails to grow to maturity.
Please consider mortality of say 20% hence you will have 8000 young snails. Even if you sell them for N100 each at harvest, that would be N100 X 8,000 snails = N800,000 Pure Profit!

And remember it lay more than thant 100 in a period......
