abdsamad: Hmm
Pop up cam...
It's honestly just there. I think i can count the number of times I've used the selfie cam. I seldom take pictures and when i do i use the main camera or i use a mirror (if i want to see myself. Lol)
It's cool shaa, whenever it pops up. Even people with better phones still do a little admiring. It may be a problem if u use face unlock cos it has to climb up n down but the few times i used it i wasn't really put off. It was again cool... Almost like the computer granting u special access like u see in movies. The delay is barely noticeable in my own opinion.
i cannot say anything about risk of breaking it when in use cos i protect my phone jealously (and i scarcely use it)
What else... ahhh, i guess that's all.
Oh! Picture quality is very satisfactory. It's sharp and clear etc.
Maybe I'll dash u the phone if i finally run to mi 9 Ah... Thank you in advance. I'll surely include you in my supplications tonight in order to FastTrack the handing over. I've already seen you with the Mi 9 as I've seen myself with yours (soon to be mine .) Abeg you people should join me in thanking him for this his generosity O. Truly, the Lord works in mysterious ways. |

PotatoSalad: Amoled over LCD anytime. As someone who reads a lot of eBooks, Amoled is pleasing to the eyes even at the lowest brightness. Not sure I'm ever going to use an IPS LCD display again.
For people talking about Screen burn in issues, do you always leave your Phone on max brightness, like really? Tank u O jare...

2kurupt: Personally I think it all boils down to luck. Both issues you highlighted above affect both screen techs respectively. AMOLED screens suffer burn-in while LCD screens suffer screen bleeding. Much like you've the back axle vs front wheel drive debates in cars.
But then a person may see an issue manifest in his screen even unboxing his device while another will use same model for donkey years without any issues whatsoever. Thanks for the explanation I think at the bolded says it all and a lil' bit of care, too. |

Xionez: Its funny. SD865 phone with an IPS LCD display is very very scarce. I was curious about the whole AMOLED thing and just checked. It just a Vivo Neo 5G only. I hated AMOLED because of the burn in defect. I hated to see it on my S5 and still hate to see it now. It very annoying especially when viewing movies...and you would be seeing your keyboard outline against a sky white background or your battery icon and network status. I wish they could find a method of fixing it. Come O, are you people trying to discourage we people from buying phones with Amoled screens? I've been reading some scary sh*t all through, from screen burns to screen bleeding and what have you festwiz: Just an opinion,
I don't really think these high end devices are designed for such extended periods of screen usage at a time, say 8 hours of use from wake-up. Given the prices, I'd say the target audience are not extreme users that have their smartphones as their only computing device. They are designed to be powerful across all aspects of usage, not to be tortured 24/7 on a single task.
OLED screens are great for viewing content and for creatives due to it's colour accuracy and amazing contrast. I think a majority of users that purchase flagships and high end devices are mild users and not heavy users and as such they can go through a full 2 year smartphone cycle and have no issues with their OLED displays.
If you compare this to users that push 16 hours of SoT daily, well, you begin to see the problem there.
#IMO You try small in cooling my mind sha... But can someone please give me(us) a genuine review of the pros and cons of the Amoled thing, as per personal experience. Anyone, please? |

Also you might not get a Global ROM since they are hardly launching the 5G models outside China. Does the same shortcoming apply to the k30 Pro? I'm interested in the phone but have noticed that no one is discussing it here. Anything I should know about, please? |

Maybe it's just the way u said it that made people feel some uneasy about it You know it's a topic no one likes discussing due to the obvious reason that people are afraid of it. mathefaro: Check the tweaking thread for instruction on how to unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery. Those after the only regional part. The rest is easy as pie What about the question about retaining the call recording feature after flashing a new Rom? |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by freeAgent99(m): 9:54pm On May 08, 2020 |
mathefaro: Unlock bootloader and install a custom Miui Rom. I also use a Redmi Note 7 pro. I'll recommend Xiaomi.eu Rom. You won't need to change region to use fonts or themes. You can just import any font/theme you like and apply. Please is the procedure straightforward or has a bit of complications. Furthermore, do I still get to retain my call recording feature |

genius43: A feature that will soon be rolled out by google.for global versions and already in beta testing. Xiaomi announced that there will be a fix for it, but impatience on our part always get the most out of us. Not impatience bro, just uncertainty as to when it'll be actualized. I bought this phone last year and only God knows how many conversations I could have missed recording since then till when it'll be rolled out. I even upgraded to the rn8 pro but had to give it out upon realizing it didn't have the feature. I just pray they do that soon. By the way, is their any disadvantage (if any) of the motorized pop up camera? Cc: GrandMufti, Olayinkajnr, other Gurus in da house |

Buzx: Oh, this is interesting. This shows that you are someone who always love connected to people which is good. I'm sure you wished you recorded some of childhood conversations.
"Reminds me I'll be joining them soon" This one is bad, bro. Are you kind of depressed?
And I thought you were a secret agent or something because of your moniker All this talk about depression... Must one be depressed to be thinking about when he is going to meet his Maker? I tire O! And you think I'll just come out and tell you if I'm a secret agent or not, just like dat? |

festwiz: Do you have recurring fits of depression? Depression, frustration etc... None of them. I'm just being what I am; a realist. Moreover, I've seen a lot of people leave this world and I know I am just living on what you'd call "borrowed time". The thing with death is that it comes suddenly and unannounced. So again, I'm not having "fits or even bits of depression", just being a realist. |

genius43: Hold a global version or Global ROM go through it very well there are differences.
Chinese ROM do have it's own advantages eg getting updates faster but in most cases the added features are tuned with their people in mind. The only reason I like the Chinese version is because of the Call Recording Feature. I don't think I can use any phone that doesn't have that. |
