Bow Wow has apparently found “the one” he wants to settle down with as the rapper and TV host has confirmed his engagement to Love & Hip Hop: New York star Erica Mena, whom he has been dating for six months. Erica, who has become one of the most controversial stars of the VH1 reality show, let the exciting news slip while on the red carpet at last weekend’s BET Hip Hop Awards, telling E! News when asked about her rapper beau: “Uhh..he's actually my fiancé.”

It seems Bow Wow, 27, was more than happy to then confirm the news, sharing a close-up photo on Instagram of the blinging diamond ring he presented to Erica during the proposal while also showing off his equally as flashy Rolex watch. Although she’s yet to gush over her engagement further, Erica was seen happily posing with the ring at the BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday as the couple sat together in the audience.

It’s believed that Bow Wow and Erica, 26, have been dating ever since she made an appearance on 106 & Park which the rapper presents, back in February, and it seems she left a long-lasting memory after they shared a steamy kiss on the sofa. While their romance has been surprisingly mostly under wraps, it’s likely that it’ll be splashed all over the upcoming season of L&HH:NY which returns in November.

Worried by the persistent rejection of his preferred candidate in the 2015 governorship election in Akwa Ibom state, the State Governor,
Chief Godswill Akpabio, in his desperation has commenced the process of mending his broken fences to actualize his desire.

Akpabio who has been having sleepless nights over his political predicament in the State is reported to have caused a reconciliation
meeting with his erstwhile Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Obong Umana Okon Umana, with the sole purpose of seeking rapprochement in the face of his failed effort to sell the candidature of Mr Udom Emmanuel, his new SSG, who has been roundly rejected across the State.

Realising that his plot to unilaterally install Mr. Emmanuel against all odds is heading for the rocks, Governor Akpabio, on Friday last week had met with Obong Umana, in a meeting which lasted between 3pm-6pm at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

The meeting, according to observers, is described as Akpabio's last ditch effort and attempt at making amend with his former political
associates who had all abandoned him. A source who pleaded anonymity confided in our reporter that, soon after the duo’s meeting, Akpabio and Umana emerged together from the Lounge Bar, to the amazement of some of the Akwa Ibom State indigenes who were present at the hotel.

The meeting which was held under the glare of the hotel public, including some of Akpabio's foot soldiers, had the two men discussing at the
secluded area of the hotel bar in the ground floor alone, but it is not clear if Umana who is determined to run for the governorship of the state come 2015 will accede to the Governor's plea.

A source close to Akpabio also bitterly complained to our reporter in confidence that the Governor who is known for his deceit, inconsistency and double speak, looks set to abandon them again in the futile Udom pursuit as he abandoned them in the Umana project when their personal relationship turned sour.

A fortnight ago the leadership of the Ibibio ethnic nationality, at a reception held in honour of the Chief Obong Attah, a former governor
of the State, had promised a show down with Akpabio, as they had vowed to collectively present a governorship candidate to the people of the State soon.
