Ndi Owerri, good to know that you are visiting the South West probably for the
first time. It's obvious that you are not familiar with SW and I understand.

Oyo state is almost the size of your whole South East but most Yoruba folks know or must have heard of the place inside in Oyo state you're visiting.

Here's wishing you a safe and successful trip from and to Owerri in Imo state, South East, Nigeria.

Hmmm. He took a big risk. The beach was never sold to him by the authorities, according to the Minister, HE Dave Umahi. He will come out better and stronger after this. The coastal road will give access to other locations he could relocate to wink

Then the current Kogi Governor may be in trouble after leaving office. He should not have ferried HE Yahaya Bello away from arrest by EFCC. He should have actually accompanied him to the EFCC office and support him emotionally and legally.

Education / Re: University Of Ibadan Students Lament 450–750% Fee Hike by FreeStuffsNG: 6:55pm On Apr 17
God1000:
I know quality education is not cheap anywhere in the world, but Nigerians are faced with so many problems compared to citizens in other countries, federal universities should be considerate and understand the plights of the people, raising the fees too high will force many students from poor background to drop out.

Paying such outrageous amount upon all the wahala of ASUU that will still delay students, some people will consider private universities now
I think we should understand that the university needs the hike to remain in the business that brought the students to the school in the first place. Secondly, it is much more difficult for citizens in other countries too. Biden has been cancelling students loan regularly because most of the students could not pay back after graduation and most UK universities are currently strained financially, so bad that some universities have started folding up in the US. Do you want UI to fold up ni? Hike yes but the hike should be affordable is better than blackmailing the school with people who have economic challenges. The school is challenged financially at the moment and needs help to save itself and then save the students. I believe that the hike is necessary but it should not be too much.

Good landmark remains
Landmark will need to eventually relocate. The beach is cut off. Dave Umahi said the beach belongs to FG and the construction design can not be changed.

The good news is that the main building is not likely to be demolished.

Education / Re: University Of Ibadan Students Lament 450–750% Fee Hike by FreeStuffsNG: 6:38pm On Apr 17
God1000:
This is too much, many families cannot afford it, people are struggling to eat and our universities are busy increasing school fees
So reducing university fees will make people eat? The universities are complaining seriously that they can hardly even afford diesel bill and UCH was thrown into darkness for owing electricity bills yet the university Labour unions have had their concerns as their own priority instead of putting heads together with management on how their universities can increase their funding in creative and innovative ways.

Should they shut the universities? I don't think so. The best option is to raise fees but should make it moderate enough for most of the students still able to afford it. Some of these students use N200k-worth or more mobile devices and can afford this new fees while some from even modest families will get to school and face other things apart from their education and ultimately the taxpayers don't get the real value on subsidizing their education.
I support the call for reducing the hike but the universities can increase fees to give quality services and education to the students. Quality education is not cheap o. Alumni should come in to assist the universities too.

The company should eventually be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange so we can trade its shares.

Hmmm. His Achilles heel will likely be the source of the funds he used for campaign and mobilisation for his attempt to become APC's Presidential candidate last year.

Now he is no longer enjoying immunity so EFCC can get to work on petitions against him. If he's innocent, he has nothing to be afraid of.

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Dollar Reserves Plunge In Tandem With Naira Rebound by FreeStuffsNG: 10:16pm On Apr 16
Hmmm

Most of the funds was used to pay back the billions in forex backlog debts incurred more than 4 years ago.

You can support your national currency in the short run to ensure that others see that you have a skin in the game. That decision of paying back international airlines alone has led to drastic fall in airfares and increased confidence in the naira.

From the chart below, the dates when our reserve fell tally with the period we cleared this massive backlog from early March till when CBN announced it in late March which lagged into April. We are barely in mid April.

Just to remind you that in each of these 3 south west states, there are probably 25% applicants from the south east.
This is indigene list. If you have done JAMB before you will know that you fill your state of origin and it's considered for admission. It is based on this clean data that proof that indigenes of Oyo, Ogun and Osun have the highest applicant for this year. Each state has its own so don't mix them up.

Lagos not among, with the high population. Not surprised!

Meanwhile,
Lagos indigenous Yoruba have not always been as populous as Yoruba from big ancient Yoruba cities like Ile-Ife, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Abeokuta etc so it's not unusual. This doesn't mean Lagos may not be high but probably within the top 15-20 states .
