One point currently separates the top three teams.

This is the first time in a decade that three teams have been separated by just a point after 28 games, but can the current contenders maintain their title bids and take this thrilling race all the way to May 19?

So who have the toughest opponent and who have chance of winning the league

In your Yoruba culture, what is spraying money called? undecided
Smh. This is not a healthy way for you to learn and acquire knowledge.

Here's a report on Yoruba weddings in Lagos as far back as over a century ago: Lagos High Society Weddings Of The 1920s

https://www.nairaland.com/7791204/lagos-high-society-weddings-1920s

This was a time some people in present day South East, according to authoritative books written by foreigners and some of our Nationalists of Igbo extraction, were still walking unclad and not exposed to having societal parties where Yoruba spray money.

You can get a copy of this book and read. We appreciate our history when we learn about how our forebears lived.

Reno is right, spraying of money at social and private events is part of Yorubaland culture till date. Others learnt it from the Yoruba and it's not a bad thing in my opinion because it is a way to appreciate the celebrant but it's now to be done in a manner that you don't mishandle the naira. Even the EFCC lawyer who prosecuted Bobrisky, a Yoruba, and the Judge who convicted him are Yoruba!

I have found myself doing some things that i am not proud of today. It is one thing to watch my friendship/ marriage of 20 years slip off my hands, but it's another thing for the parties involved to understand how to appropriate the blames in a space that is designed for most women to always play the victims and win.

Very irresponsible and arrogant remark. He should not give up on bringing back his family and get help before this remark later haunt him for ever.

I learnt he has a good home that's worth fighting for and he just admitted it too. Drop your pride and bring back your family.

Something must remove a President from office. Covid 19 outbreak ruined Trump's administration and Israel-Gaza war will ruin Biden's administration. If Biden wins, it will have little effect on the war, if Trump wins, I pity Palestinians.
Trump will not spend that much of US money for Netanyahu to create that horrendous devastation Trump himself has personally condemned. He actually berated Israel for causing such a high level of destruction.

Trump is interested in deals and will make as much deals as possible, with Russia, North Korea, Hungary, Venezuela,
even Iran! He's not coming back to ever contest again if he wins so it's not cast in stone that he will want to waste US money on people who are already down.

You and I Know Iran is not crazy to strike Isreal directly
But Isreal is crazy enough to strike the Iranian embassy in Syria? Smh.

Isreal is just making things more difficult for the US in the middle east and US is genuinely worried, Biden in particular is concerned that the guys in Israel may be ruining his chances especially in the middle of an election year. it's just as simple as that.

If you see how much Biden had raised and how desperate Trump is to catch up then Biden will press the neck of Netanyahu long enough at least until after he wins his second term bid for the US Presidency.

Report them to the mods every time till they get banned for long years.

Trolls and criminal cyberbullies are not ghosts. Don't let them cancel you with their narcissism. The one who was caught cyberbullying the former first lady turned out to be one frail looking timid undergraduate with parents barely managing themselves to cater for him not knowing that he was indulging in criminal cyberbullying online. These has made it impossible for Warri Port to actually serve as a hub for activities in the south-south, and even some of the commercial centers in the south-east.

Now it's clear that the reason why other ports are not working is not because of the Yoruba.

Most of these 'political' ports were built to stifle the development of the Lagos ports which were denied of FG funding since the 1970s until lately when the Lagos-backed Lekki Deep Seaport took off to compete with FG-owned ports based in Lagos.

All the money that the Federal Government should have invested in Lagos ports to upgrade them and increase capacity prior to now were moved outside Lagos to build white elephant projects and almost worthless ports in Calabar, Warri etc.

That's why we in Lagos state ended up building our own ports, trains, major bridges like odo alaro, 4th mainland Bridge, stadia, teaching hospitals etc in Lagos state instead of waiting for FG. The politics of bad blood and envy would have killed the advancement of Lagos if we had folded our hands and kept waiting for our haters to have a change of heart.

On this issue o, I blame the Federal Government and I recommend that these ports be privatised or closed down completely since it's become an obscene liability.

Please bring your investments to Lagos, patronize ports in Lagos today.

Business / LASG Threatens To Seal Supermarkets Over Non-disclosure Of Price Tags On Product by FreeStuffsNG: 9:15pm On Apr 06
The Lagos State Government has mandated supermarkets and grocery stores throughout the state to display price tags on all products, warning that failure to comply may result in the sealing of non-compliant establishments.
The warning was issued by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) on Saturday as a measure to enhance transparency and safeguard consumers from potential price exploitation, as contained in a statement retrieved from the Lagos State Government’s official website.

This initiative aims to prevent misunderstandings and inconvenience at the point of sale, fostering a more straightforward and consumer-friendly shopping experience.

“The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has issued a stern warning to supermarkets and grocery stores within the state regarding the non-disclosure of price tags on products.

“LASCOPA’s warning aims to ensure transparency and protect consumers from potential price exploitation as non-disclosure of price tags can lead to misunderstandings and inconvenience at the point of sale,’’ the statement read in part.

More insights
The statement also revealed that Mr. Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager of LASCOPA, emphasized that the absence of price tags on products infringes upon consumer rights and violates the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency Law.

He pointed out that this lack of transparency prevents consumers from making informed purchasing decisions. Solebo further highlighted that these practices are in direct contradiction with the Consumer Protection Act, which requires the clear display of prices for goods and services to facilitate informed consumer choices.

Furthermore, Mr. Afolabi Solebo encouraged consumers in Lagos to report any instances of non-compliance with the price tag regulation to LASCOPA.

He provided the agency’s social media platforms as well as dedicated phone lines for such reports, which are 08124993885, 09064323154, and 08092509777, urging the public to actively participate in safeguarding their consumer rights.

Development has eluded that backend part of highbrow Victoria Island for decades and my guess has always been that there's a reason folks avoid buying land there and building up the place.

It's very painful that someone will go and buy that land. Smh. Mr Paul Onwuanibe should have avoided that place, he should have sensed that there's a reason there's no development in that large expanse of space in VI and even LASG kept it that way. It was too obvious and risky.

Something is fishy about that land and the best bet is that govt had designated it for future developments.

It seems the government won't destroy the property again, the road will be reroute

I know lagos is the poshest city but they are other fine parts of the country
And you guys consider other parts of the country irrelevant

Calabar = very clean and serene environment

Abuja = developed with cool government people everywhere and also plenty fine hausa girls

Lagos people do. It is mostly within the same Southwest and then overseas.

If you see them outside Lagos and outside the other parts of South West, it's usually for work postings and family is mostly left behind in the Southwest.

There's too much negative news about other parts of Nigeria outside the Southwest and most folks from there based in Lagos don't do much to market their places to the Yoruba to visit for leisure and business.

Hahaha.....Very familiar if you are Yoruba and at family events where your elder relatives are in attendance. You are taught this right from childhood and done so frequently that it comes naturally.

You must serve each elder his or her own idobale individually o, nothing like give one idobale for more than one elder. If you are accompanied by your wife and children , it is even more dramatic because you will all be dragging space to greet and receive blessings from the elders at the same time.

This is one of the coded ways the culture and blessings are transferred from the older generations of the Yoruba family to the younger ones wink

One good thing about this is that in a couple of years, you will be the one receiving the idobale and transferring the blessings you recieved from today's elders to those behind you so they can pass it on to the generations after you are long gone.
