PoliticsRe: Failed Project: N1.5bn Staff Pay, $496m Payout To Indian Firm Spark NASS Anger by frog12: 5:58pm On Dec 15, 2023
“Before the exit of the last administration, the Federal Government went through litigation and settlement was reached.
“The federal government paid $496m to the Indian firm for breach of agreement.”
Audu’s submissions infuriated a member of the Committee, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, who queried the rationale for paying N1.5bn annually to the staff of a firm that had been concessioned. Akpoti Uduaghan also wondered why the termination of the agreement was done in private without the public being aware of it:

so Akpoti is finally doing work. Governor Bello must be ashamed of himself. dat Buhari govt was corrupt. they should go after Malami. they hide everything from the public.

TopBanter:
Don't mind the clown. Is it not how they said all Nigeria needed was the 'technocratic brilliance' of NOI for our nation to be Dubai overnight?

Well, GEJ brought her in and effectively made Okonjo Iweala the "coordinating Minister of the economy" , akin to a Minister to all other Ministers, yet what did she achieve for him and for Nigeria?

That why Igboland is a mess and displaying the worst political leaders in Nigeria. It is a place full of emotional people who make sentimental, myopic and illogical choices.

BusinessRe: P&G To Dissolve Ground Operations In Nigeria, Revert To An Import-only Business by frog12: 12:55am On Dec 07, 2023
then why are they leavinghuh

Eriokanmi:
My cousin worked at Procter and Gamble at Oluyole Estate in Ibadan for years and he was never paid in dollars. P&G never evaded tax. They contributed greatly to oyo state IGR and the FG at large. Their products were for Nigerian Market only. They got the lemon from Nigerian local farmers and made them multi millionaires by constantly patronising them. I remember a time P&G brought an improved yield of the lemon to the farmers from IITA to enhance their yields. P&G had enough money to cultivate lemon but never did, just to promote local sources of supply and create wealth among farmers in a way. They didn't export their products. I'm sure you know the popular vicks lemon plus. It's the product I'm talking about. Lemon peel is one of the ingredients.

You are one of the enemies of Nigeria guy. All of you will definitely bear the consequences of your defence of the indefensible soon.

How would these farmers growing lemon survive? Hope you know they have families and employees on their farmlands? Where would they go? What of those Nigerians working on the P&G plant? You're disgrace to humanity
BusinessRe: P&G To Dissolve Ground Operations In Nigeria, Revert To An Import-only Business by frog12: 12:53am On Dec 07, 2023
wetin P&G dey sale anyway? toilet papers?? grin

Saladdin:
Nigeria is definitely not one of P&G's strongest market. The ROI is not justifying the investment on ground.

Had Nigerian been a working nation that supports it's SMEs, this is the best chance for upcoming FMCGs in the country to fill the gap.

Similar issue happened in '91 during Babangida's SAP, but the business terrain then is still less stifling that what we have now.

Too bad, as thousands of jobs (direct and indirect) will be lost. But who can blame the company? Companies follow profit not emotions.

Okonjo Iweala will enter white house elegantly whereas Dangote or your so called celebrities can't.

na achievement be dis? I pity these group. we gave her the chance and the economy is still in the toilet grin grin grin

Nicenixon:
Don't be stupid, they're talking about influential women, not rich or wealthy women. Do you think it is easy to become Director General of World Trade Organisation? Do you the numbers of politicians around the world she had to lobby before getting there or high profile people she had to contest with? In shorts, influential people will enter places with ease where rich or wealthy people can't just enter. Okonjo Iweala will enter white house elegantly whereas Dangote or your so called celebrities can't.
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala, Mo Abudu Make Forbes’ 100 World’s Most Powerful Women List by frog12: 8:37pm On Dec 06, 2023
besides paying our debts, what has she achieved huh
any fool can negotiate debt payments with a discount

Botragelad:
I reckon this bloke is not alright. This is like the 3rd comment I've seen without you making any sense!
Don't you know what Forbes is or are you just acting like a plonker?

Forbes is not the only one who recognises Dr. Okonjo-Iweala as a powerful woman in Africa. She has been listed as one of the world's most influential leaders by Time, one of the 25 most influential women by Financial Times, and Minister of the Decade by Nigeria's This Day newspaper.
She is also the first woman and the first African to lead the World Trade Organization as Director-General.

She is not just a DG of WTO for their own Africa. She is an economist and international development expert with over 30 years of experience. She has held leadership and advisory positions in scores of international, nongovernmental, and charitable organizations, including the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI); the African Union, as chair of the African Risk Capacity Group, an agency established to help African countries prepare for and respond to extreme weather events and other natural disasters—and as a special envoy to negotiate international financial assistance for combating the COVID-19 pandemic; the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate; the International Commission on Financing Global Education; the Rockefeller Foundation; and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. You think this is your regular corruption trash,eh!

Aside that, she was also briefly the country's Foreign Minister in 2006. First Nigerian woman to serve in both positions. She also ran for the presidency of the World Bank in 2012, the first contested election for that position, which is traditionally held by an American. Is that a joke to you?

Before you slag off the lady, maybe you should do some research and learn some facts. She is not a joke, she is a legend.
