OPay a provider of payment, ride-hailing, food delivery and loan services have been given approval by Nigeria’s Apex Bank Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to commence international money transfer in Nigeria. With the approval, OPay will start facilitating remittance B2B, B2P and P2P remittance services into Nigeria. This is coming off the heels of the earlier announced $50 million fundraised from major venture capitalist some months ago.
Source:https://froshloaded.com.ng/opay-acquires-cbn-approval-for-international-money-transfer/

“The plan is to distort the remittance space and ensure that international money transfer into Nigeria is safer, faster and more affordable” according to Kunle Olamuyiwa, Director of Remittances Services at OPay. With OPay’s infrastructure in Nigeria, it will be easier and faster for global remittance companies to partner with OPay to help their customers to receive money from their business partners, customers and loved ones directly into their OPay wallet and any bank account or mobile wallet in Nigeria. Also, recipients can go cash out their funds from their OPay wallets at any of over 100,000 OPay mobile money agents in Nigeria.

“We are already working with major global remittance companies around the world and will start facilitating remittances to Nigeria with these partners, ensuring the best fees and exchange rates, speed and security,” said Kunle.

When asked how this will benefit the recipients of money transfers in Nigeria, Kunle said “ There is a plan to commence a big-bang promo in December with lots of prices for recipients of money transfer who receive their money directly into their OPay wallets. I can only advise everyone who has families around the world to get an OPay Wallet. They will get better value for these funds doing transfers to any bank, paying their bills, buying food and also using our on-demand transport services i.e. Oride, OBus and Otrike. And on top of all, they can channel unused funds to OWealth and earn interest on it daily. It is indeed better times for recipients of international money transfers in Nigeria”

OPay launched its mobile payment service in August 2018, creating an infrastructure on which the company is now also adding new services. The agent-centric mobile payment operation focused on reaching the massive unbanked population of Nigeria. Currently, OPay has expanded into other verticals like ride-hailing (ORide and OTrike), and online food delivery (OFood), as well as facilitating access to third-party provided microloans (OKash) and wealth management (OWealth) and there will be more to come in the coming months.

A man identified as Thabang Ngobeni, 25, stabbed his 3-year-old son to death n a veld near the Bremer Street informal settlement in South Africa because he believed that sacrificing the child would "cleanse him of the evil that has befallen him"

The body of the boy, Mohau was found in the veld with multiple stab wounds to his face and chest.

Source: https://froshloaded.com.ng/south-african-man-brutally-stabs-his-3-year-old-son-to-death-says-he-sacrificed-him-to-god/

“We were alerted to the situation shortly after 16:00,” said Hercules CPF chairman, Johan van Staden. “The body was found not long afterwards.”

Xander Loubser of Bestcare paramedics was part of the search party that found the child’s body.

“When we found him, his little body was already cold,” said Loubser.

Sam Ngobeni, the murder suspect's father told journalists that his son said he had taken the child into the veld to "offer him to God"

It is alleged that the suspect returned home later and just sat down on a chair, emotionless, his hands and clothes still covered in blood.

"He didn't try to run away. He just sat there and told us not to worry about Thabang anymore," a family member said.

The mother of the late toddler Thandi Ngobeni, 24, is still in shock and struggling to come to terms. After undergoing troubles they could not resolve, Thabang and Thandi separated some time ago, but are still legally married.

"How it could have happened. I do not know what got into him,” said a traumatised Ngobeni. “I was so shocked, I did not know what to say or do. All I want is closure.”

According to family members Thabang apparently took Mohau into a veld near the informal settlement on Bremer Street where the toddler was physically assaulted and stabbed multiple times.

On that fateful day, Thandi was called shortly after 16:00 by her sister and a friend to tell her that something awful had happened to her son.

Although she wanted to go to the settlement where Mohau lived with his father and grandparents, her brother advised against it because he feared for her safety.

It was around 18:00 when a family friend told her that Thabang had killed their son.
Thandi felt at that stage like she wanted to cry, but could not due to the numbness and sheer disbelief she was experiencing.

She was also infuriated because she thought more could have been done to save Mohau.

“One question keeps going through my mind over and over again: ‘Why?’” Thandi said.

Thabang Ngobeni appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 4 November where he pleaded guilty to murdering his son.

He is set to appear in court again on 11 November to sign his confession statement so that sentencing can commence.

The APC National Chairman spoke in Abuja when he led members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC on a visit to the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan and other Principal Officers of the APC in the Upper Chamber.

He insisted that Nigeria has gone beyond what he termed “Mungo Park era” where a President is expected to only function from his base.

Oshiomhole said, “I was also excited to see Mr. President sign into law that Act in London. Again, a couple of implication on this. That like you the President recognized that if you can manage it as quickly as you did and come out with such fundamental amendment that has such enormous impact on our national revenue, he as President also has to do the needful.

“I think by signing into law at the Nigerian House in London, it shows that the wherever the President is, he is Presiding over Nigeria and with the benefit of modern technology we have passed the Mungo Park era.

“So, signing it in London for me has also made several statements. Namely, that where ever national interest is involved, the President is on duty and wherever he is he is presiding.

“I also salute his assenting to the Bill as fast as he did and even at the Nigerian House in London.”

26-year-old Michael Golsorkhi who was filmed ‘thrusting’ at a pile of leaves in a missionary position with his trousers round his ankles, has been jailed after being arraigned before a Stockport Magistrates’ Court.

The drunk man who ran into the bush after Premier Inn workers shouted at him, committed the said act at a carpark outside a Beefeater pub where families were eating at Stockport, Greater Manchester shortly before 8pm on September 16. Recounting how the incident occurred, a hotel staff said the convict gave no explanation for what he was doing after being caught acting suspiciously.

‘We saw a white male with his trousers down and we could see his bum,’ it continued.

‘There was nothing between me and this male, he was about a car length away from me and he appeared to be having sex.

‘At one stage I shouted to him: “What are you doing, you dirty b******” and he then leapt up, pulled his trousers up and sat in the bushes.’

Mokgweetsi Masisi has been sworn in as Botswana’s new president after the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) won the country’s parliamentary elections last week.

The mood was upbeat at the University of Botswana venue were about 3,000 guests attended the inauguration of the country’s fifth democratically elected president. The 58-year-old took the oath of office at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Arena in the capital, Gaborone.

The swearing-in was Botswana’s first to be held away from the Parliament building. Masisi has vowed to prioritise job creation during his tenure, to curb the country’s increasing unemployment rate.

The diamond-rich southern African country has long been considered one of Africa’s most stable democracies; however, it has also struggled with high unemployment, which official records peg at 17 percent. Some opposition parties have suggested that it is higher. Masisi also reiterated his government’s commitment to wildlife conservation in the country.

“My government will continue to seek an outcome that will set the tone for conserving our wildlife and elephants in particular,” Masisi said.

The BDP has ruled Botswana since independence from Britain in 1966, overseeing its rise from one of the world’s poorest nations to a middle-income country thanks to diamond production.

Other African countries were represented at the ceremony with President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, President Edgar Lungu of Zambia and President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique in attendance. Former Botswana president Festus Mogae was also there, but Khama was notable by his absence.

United for the second time this season, defeated Chelsea, but not 4-0 like the last time at Old Trafford, but a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge in a very entertaining match on Wednesday night in the Carabao cup.

Two goals from Rashford with an effort from Batshuayi sandwiched in between, was enough for Ole Gunnaer Solksjaer to claim 3 away wins on the roll, just weeks after his job was at rid following poor performances in the premier league.

Daniel James was brought down in the penalty box and Marcus slotted home the penalty to make it 1-0 in the first half.

In the second half, Michy Batshuayi scored after woeful defending from 80 million pounds defender Harry Maguire leaving the Stamford Bridge faithful dreaming of a come back and eventual winner but Rashford stunned the home fans with his superb free kick leaving Lampard's men to lick their wounds and rue missed chances during the match.

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has urged the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to join hands with the ruling party in moving the nation forward.

In a statement he personally signed on Supreme Court’s affirmation of President Buhari’s re-election, Tinubu commended PDP and Atiku for their tenacious pursuit of what was their legal remedies.

In the statement entitled: “Presidential Election: Supreme Court Affirms Will of The People”, Tinubu also congratulated President Buhari and the APC on a well-deserved legal affirmation of a hard-won electoral victory.

“The rule of law conclusively affirmed the collective voice of the people by dismissing the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and their presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“The sun rose high in the Nigeria sky today to shine its light over the entire land. Atiku should now channel the energy and intellect deployed in the electoral and legal processes toward joining APC “to move this nation more rapidly and assuredly forward.”

“On February 23, the people tendered the foremost expression of their sovereign, democratic will by voting for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari. This decision and this day will be recorded as important milestones on Nigeria’s inseparable march toward perfecting democracy and the rule of law across our land,” he said.

Kanye West has accused the Democratic Party of brainwashing blacks and promoting policies that are harmful to the race.
The 42-year-old rapper who disclosed this in an nterview with radio host Big Boy while promoting his new Christian-themed album 'Jesus Is King', added that he doesn't think it's smart for black people to give bloc votes to Democrats.
'You are quite easily controlled if they know everybody gonna be blue [Democrat]. If you go to a white [person] bar, you gonna hear people talking Independent, you gonna hear people talking Democrat, you gonna hear people talking Republican' he said.
