HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 9:26am On Jul 04, 2019
Thank you wonyi for this advice. i think i will still take more than 6 months for me to do another ivf.
wonyi:
Please don't stimulate immediately, take at least 6 months. I am old in this thread. Eat right(vegetables, protein, water etc) exercise (for proper blood circulation), rest and PRAY. KEEP SPEAKING THE WORD AND POSITIVE CONFESSION. IT'S ONLY GOD THAT GIVES CHILDREN even with all the parameters being right. Make sure you boost your faith. Every day confess positively.

Then take a very multivitamin like (FH PRO) FOR WOMEN. I TOOK THEM. I SPENT MONEY. IT'S A MULTIVITAMIN FOR ASSISTED REPRODUCTION .

ALSO DETOX. I READ SOMEWHERE THAT BITTER LEAF IMPROVES EGG QUALITY.

PLS CHECK YOUR AMH VALUE FOR PROPER EVALUATION OF YOUR EGG VALUE.ENSURE YOU WORK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. ALSO RESEARCH MORE

Thank you so much peculiar my email is chynwaz@yahoo.com.
Perculiar:
Amen.God will grant us all of our heart desire Amen. yes cream and perfumes are all chemicals that diffuse into our system via our skin which is the largest organ in the body. i stopped using chemical based cream and switched to naturally made cream. i use perfume sometimes on my cloths not skin. you can drop your email so i can share the book "it starts with the egg". i honestly wish everyone of us success in our endeavors to have our babies. Amen. i have faith that if you prepare yourself very well you will get a good result.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 10:00am On Jun 26, 2019
@Perculiar thanks for your advice and may God crown you your heart desire for this. I will give myself 2-3months to take the drugs and change my life style.

As per Nordica we have started and have already made payment for ivf so we will finish the treatment with them and i believe that it will be a success.

But does cream and perfume affect the egg? i will stop using them for me to get my positive result.

I believe all hope is not lost.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 4:47pm On Jun 25, 2019
Dear fruitful mamas, i started my treatment with Nordica. started stimulation last 2 weeks with high dosage (because of age)for the injection and i have gone for scan for 3 times and they only saw 2 follicles which they said is too low that i need to have at least 4 follicles for a positive result. I was so down when the doctor told me this and he said i can cancel the procedure or go ahead with 2 follicles which he said that they do not know whether it has a viable eggs.

He also said i can use a donor which i do not want to use because i believe that i can still use my egg for the ivf and get a positive result. So dh and i have decided to freeze the 2 follicles and do another cycle to collect more follicles( will still pay again)for the ivf.

Please mamas what should i do to improve my ovary reserve and egg. I am 42 yrs and i have been trying for 7 yrs, i have not gotten pregnant since i married. I am sooo down and worried. I do not know what else to do. I want to carry my own children.

Please beautiful mamas someone should help me.

Gloriousheart:
May God grant miraculous bfps to all of us still waiting especially those who are tired. Those who have seen others come, get their bfps and moved on and yet are still waiting. I know how it feels. Like God, when will it get to my turn? It is well. Our time is here and Amen.

MY WIDD
I got tired of trying on my own and decided to go further. I decided to try fertility treatments. And opted for IUI -Intrauterine Insemination. I made my findings looking for a reputable hospital with a record for successful IUI not just IVF. Towerofgrace's testimony of using St. Ivies, Ikoyi branch, Lagos and getting bfp gingered me. I found others who had successful IUI too with them. So I went to them- St.Ivies Ikoyi branch.
Ikeja headquarters was nearer to me but I opted for the particular branch where I had heard real life IUI success experiences of mamas here.

During the course of my investigative tests with them, they saw hydrosalphinx in both tubes with one tube even enlarged. Hydrosalphinx blocks sperms from passing through for those who may not know. How will I do IUI with this? I started asking doc about IVF. Not that I had the money sef neither was I ready for IVF but I knew my chances were slimmer with IUI in light of that. My FSH was also higher than normal. Ah! Kilode? (wetin happen na) I didn't have all these before. What changed? Well, the doc -Dr Osahon of Ikoyi branch encouraged me to still do my IUI and look up to God for success. He never pushed me towards towards IVF even though it would have brought in more money for them.

He prescribed antibiotics for me for the tubes after my HSG. I also started doing castor oil massage which I learnt from here, though without the heating to avoid injury to my surgery site (I had had ovarian cyst removal surgery over a year ago). I just rubbed the castor oil on my tummy and slept off with it. I was told it will still penetrate into the reproductive system.
I believe God used the HSG, antibiotics, castor oil and warm water therapy which I will mention next, to help clear the hydro from my tubes.
Note that I stopped the castor oil before my IUI cycle cos I didn't want anything to disturb the process. Castor oil breaks down adhesions and corrects things. I felt it should have done enough abeg.

I and my DH had started the habit of drinking warm water every morning like an hour or 30mins before food... prior to the cycle I conceived. I even went further to also drink it last thing at night too for a few days. We had not even drunk warm water for two months complete before I conceived. It's just about a month plus we started it. I researched on it and I was amazed at the many benefits.
I also avoided processed sugar and sugary drinks this period. I had actually cut down seriously on sugary things since I discovered they were not good for fertility few years back.

Hubby started Addyzoa like two weeks to insemination just to boost his sperm count though we were not battling with that.

Then St.Ivies does double insemination for two consecutive days. No extra charge. We did this.

I also relaxed and slept more on my left side during my successful two week wait. I also drank lots of water. I mean lots like a bottle of water every 3-4 hours. I was told it will help transport the sperms to meet the eggs. And help implantation. I limited my going out during my tww. Relaxed more at home just laying down on my left and only stepped out quickly for very important reasons. This was just to avoid stress that may hamper fertilization and implantation.
In addition, it's advisable to wear thick socks during the tww to keep Uterus warm. I didn't wear socks but I wore thick palm slippers all over the house even in my bedroom.

I didn't pray much this cycle but I prayed sometimes and just asked God for mercy cos I was tired. But I remember that after last year's Shiloh, we were told to go home and praise God with our baby items for some nights. That is do like some minutes midnight praise every night. I really worshipped and praised my God for some nights that period lifting my baby item and pleading and crying sometimes for Him to show me mercy. My new phone even fell one of the nights and the screen broke seriously. I showed God my broken phone an grin and told Him to 'compensate ' me tongue and crown my little efforts with success.
To add to my faith efforts, I brought out my baby item to my sitting room to boldly declare the presence of children in my house. Any visitors that came could see it. I was tired of trying to be careful of not being too forward. Now I didn't care. I had kids in my house. Period. If you like ask me where they were. Na you sabi lipsrsealed tongue

To cap it up, God blessed me with my first bfp on my first IUI try after much tears, waiting, negative reports etc. To Him alone be all the glory. Thank you for reading. I hope I have been able to help or ginger some mamas. God will do it for us all.
Congratulation dear Gloriousheart. you shall carry to term and deliver like hebrew women. i tap into this your miraculous blessing as i will soon start my ivf. I pray God will bless me with bfp for my first ivf try Amen.

@ebonynelly I believe that the bump on the road is for good. Thank you. How is your bump, i pray for stressfree 9 months for you.
ebonynelly:
Hi dear. So sorry for the bump on the road. Just know that everything is for your good at the long run. Its better to have delay than to rush it and fail and then having to look for another money for another procedure.

I wish you all the very best in gathering money soon.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 3:55pm On Jan 24, 2019
@Henmaris thank you so much for your advice. i am feeling better today. I will ask the doctor about the endometrial scratch and hope it shall end successful when i resume the procedure.
henmaris:
Fruitfultwin dear, I can imagine how hard it is to continuously receive bad news when u think u are almost at the breaking point. Truth be told, that Dr seem to want the best for u. Yes, icsi and embryo hatching always cost extra money. U don't want to rush to a clinic that will collect the regular fee and do normal ivf with no hatching and maybe end up with no eggs fertilized. Thank God that u are in good hands and work hard to save up for the extra cost and God will sure provide like ur DH said. Infertility is an expensive journey but the good news is that God will crown ur efforts with success. At that point all these sorrows will be history.
Sorry dear, brace up and face it, it'll be over before u know it. Ask your Dr to also do endometrial scratch for u a cycle prior to ur IVF cycle. That is in february if u will cycle in march. It increases success rate alot. Actually it's what I did differently this cycle.
Stay strong sis and cling to darling husband this period. Build a strong bond between u both. U need each other the most. God be ur helper.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 3:49pm On Jan 24, 2019
the total cost is N1.4M excluding test and registration. i am using Nordica
shithapuns:
hmmmm, na waoh, what is the name of the clinic?. and what is the total cost without this new money added
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by fruitfultwin: 10:26pm On Jan 23, 2019
We went for the review for
all the test we did and the doctor said dh has low sperm count so he will do picsi (to be able to pick the viable active sperm which will cost us extra N290,000) and I will do laser assisted hatching because I am more than 35years(because after age 35 the walls of the egg will thicken according to the doctor which will cost us N190,000 and we did not budget for this extra cost. We were weak because of this extra cost and have to shift the procedure till March in order to gather some money.

So the ivf we suppose to start this month Jan has been shifted till march for us to save for the extra cost. Truth be told I was so down throughout today and was telling dh that I am tired of this pregnancy issue but he encouraged me that I should trust God that anything can happen concerning the issue of money.

I was so eager to start the ivf because I believe that my first try will be a success but see what money has done to us.

@koyabride did you take any drugs to for ovulation because that is what clomid does for some people. It happened to me twice when i use clomid (i ovulated but no period and did HPT 4 times but negative. i have never missed my period for 4 years i have been trying)which lengthen my period up to 2 weeks before i saw my period. Sometimes it is as a result of infection that was not treated. You still have to wait for 2 weeks to be sure.
