Hi Gurus in the house...I had a delay in the issuance of my CAS and haven't gotten it till now...I initially planned to apply for the visa and have my visa interview this week, so as to avoid the 'peak period' queue but it's not looking possible anymore...My question now is would it make any sense(waste of money) to apply for a priority visa if i get my CAS no next week or do the standard visa and wait it out?? @olowob @justwise...thanks in anticipation of your responses..

If you have the money, I suggest you pay for priority. My daughter applied for her Tier 4 (child) visa on the 19th of June (we paid for priority - 5 days), we're still waiting to get the visa. Last year it took almost 2 and a half months for my son's Tier 4 visa to come out (normal application), he was almost late to school....

Hello All, my son got his Tier 4 Child Visa. Thanks everyone, this is indeed a great community. Just chatting with you all helped ease the anxiety. Please note that TLS will be closed next week Monday and Tuesday. I pray everyone who is still waiting gets their visas soon. No delay, no denial.

I was able to confirm at least from their notice board that their holiday will only be observed only Monday and Tuesday next week.
Its not stated anywhere on thesame notice that today 1st September will be observed as public holiday.

This is for those that got their collection mail today.

Are you sure? Their website clearly states they are closed on public holidays. Anyway, I am going to lekki early tomorrow, I can check the one on the island and post my finding here. My collection center is Ikeja, but at least we will know if they're open or not.

After 38 days....biometrics done on the 11th of July

Has any one tried going to the TLS center without decision email or collection email to check for their passports? Thinking of doing that it's long over due

I was at Ikeja TLS yesterday without getting the mails. My son's biometrics was done on the 11th of July, the passport was not ready though. I think you should still go, I hear others have gone in the past without getting their mails and they collected their passports. All the very best

Don't panic madam, your son has extra two weeks grace to join the class. If he can't meet up Tuesday he should info the school of the delay and ask for latest date of resumption.

Guys, I suggest u just go there and submit ur document checklist. someone went there today to check n it was there. if they ask for the mail, just say ur email has been blocked or something. cos TLS takes time to upload ur document unto the system before u can get their mail cos they have loads to give out first. n u guys were on the 23rd and mine was 24th. so urs should probably be ready.

Its a full-time Ph.D programme (Scholarship) Visa starts from 2017-2022. So its basically 3 years for the research n the 4th year for authorisation of the research and then 5th year probably to work. then u get an extension for another year, being the 6th if u want to.

You will get the mail just as you have said. Just have faith!

I really need to get the mails tomorrow so I can pick up my son's passport by Thursday. Friday and Monday are public holidays right? And his school starts next week Tuesday. Honestly if I had known it would take this long I would have done priority. He did his biometrics on the 11th of July!

Collection mail same day above but @ 4:03pm

Hi, I think we'll get our mails tomorrow. If I recall you said a decision was made on the 23rd, so was mine. I rhink people who got their mails today, the decisions were made before the 23rd. All the best everyone.

Well, in my own case my status changed on UKVI tracking portal to "decided" exactly few minutes after 11am on Saturday which was during the weekend. So maybe I should allow some time in the working days for the package to arrive from Sheffield plus today being a holiday too.

Hello, I'm new here. Don't even know if I'm posting the right way :-)
I found out about this thread from someone on Friday. I applied for a Tier 4 Child Visa for my son, his status was updated to 'decided'on the UKVI portal on Sunday morning. The decision was made on the 23rd of August. I've been refreshing my mail all morning, waiting for the TLS mail.... It's so frustrating. This is the 7th week, we applied on the 11th of July. I pray we all get our visas and soon...
