Hello house, having read through all the post on this thread i must say i am highly impressed by the way we Nigerians are rapidly progressing in the forex industry, I must commend Wizecoder for the work done so far and all the contributing figures, I am an EA writer and system optimizer and also a forex trader. I will drop a little word of advice to those who are new to trading or EA world, EAs built to take trade based on indicator signals will never work you may get momemtary trills only to discover it losing in the longterm, and also trading is not all about doubling your capital, it is a discipline that should be learned like every other profession out there. only trading strategies built on a solid risk to reward ratio can take you far in the competitive world of forex trading. stop haunting for super indicator that will nail you profit always there is none out there, understanding price actions and market points of supply and demand will help built a good trading plan rather than relying on indicator, i am not saying indicators are bad, but if used properly can be the trader's best trading kit, wish u all the best

Losing upto 20% of your capital in not abnormal, depending on your risk to reward ratio and your system expectancy, here i will give you a formular on how to evaluate your system expectancy if you have a trading system with at least a minimum of $0.20 expectancy meaning for every $1 you invest in the long term u are likely to get $0.20 profit, which is 20% profit of ur total invested cap., also you should know the maximum Drawdown your system can generate per month, for me i recommend between 5-15% DD with a turn around profit margin of about 5-20% per month too if you can maintain this then you are in business of consistent and profitable trading. else you should review your strategy.

Expectancy is the formula you use to determine how reliable your system is. You should go back in time and measure all your trades that were winners versus all your trades that were losers. Then determine how profitable your winning trades were versus how much your losing trades lost.

Take a look at your last 10 trades. If you haven't made actual trades yet, go back on your chart to where your system would have indicated that you should enter and exit a trade. Determine if you would have made a profit or a loss. Write these results down. Total all your winning trades and divide the answer by the number of winning trades you made. Here is the formula:

E= [1+ (W/L)] x P – 1

where:

W = Average Winning Trade
L = Average Losing Trade
P = Percentage Win Ratio

Example:
If you made 10 trades and six of them were winning trades and four were losing trades, your percentage win ratio would be 6/10 or 60%. If your six trades made $2,400, then your average win would be $2,400/6 = $400. If your losses were $1,200, then your average loss would be $1,200/4 = $300. Apply these results to the formula and you get; E= [1+ (400/300)] x 0.6 - 1 = 0.40 or 40%. A positive 40% expectancy means that your system will return you 40 cents per dollar over the long term.
