A Kenyan woman, Colletha Kasumba, fainted for nine hours after she heard that her husband of 10 years, had impregnated their daughter.

The woman’s sister-in-law, Everlyne Isavywa, said Kasumba collapsed on learning her husband who is HIV-positive, had not only impregnated their daughter but also infected her with the virus.

TUKO gathered the woman was unconscious for more than nine hours and was angry, when she woke up causing her to behave violently. Her behaviour made neighbours and relatives who had gathered around her to scamper for safety.

“People thought she was dead since she was unconscious for over nine hours. We were planning for her burial but we were shocked when she woke up at about 1am and started shouting that the husband has finished her,” Isavywa said.

“The woman gave birth to twins but the husband killed them. He also infected the woman with HIV and now has infected her daughter and impregnated her. The occurrences made the woman go mad as she was too stressed,” she said.

Their daughter has reportedly given birth to a baby boy who resembles the father.

Confirming the incident, Bulopi assistant chief, Caleb Natiri, condemned the incident saying grandparents of the girl had been trying to separate them but the father refused.

“This is absurd. Village elders, church leaders and lawmakers need to be engaged to curb incidences of inter-kin marriages which are on the increase,” said Natiri.

He said the suspect would be arrested and arraigned in court once they complete their investigation.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday boasted that his party, the All Progressives Congress, would win the 2019 general elections.

Apparently making veiled reference to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, who recently said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party would win the forthcoming elections, Buhari said those who failed to understand this were entitled to their mistaken assumptions.

Saraki had on Wednesday told PDP members from all the local government areas of Kwara that PDP would emerge victorious at both the state and federal level.

But according to a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari spoke in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, while receiving the representatives of the 34 chairmen of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria.

Buhari said the string of victories recorded by the APC in bye-elections in Bauchi, Katsina and Kogi states was sufficient proof that 2019 elections would be won by the party.

He said, “Coming against the backdrop of the victory in Ekiti governorship election, the string of victories by our party, the APC, is a clear indication of the way things will go in 2019.

‘‘For those who are discerning; those who have ears and eyes they will see, hear and understand. Those who don’t understand are entitled to their mistaken assumptions.”

The President said the victories in the recent polls were “signs of things to come.”

He thanked the leaders of the association for paying Sallah homage to him and for their message of congratulations on the performance of the party and the administration.

He assured them that he would continue to do his best for the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the members, the Chairman of ALGON in the State, Alhaji Mohammed Na’Allah, expressed their support and commitment to the success of the Buhari administration.

At another meeting with the leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Katsina State, Buhari expressed his continued determination to respect the diversity of the country.

He promised to run a government that is fair and just to all Nigerians.

The President thanked the CAN leadership in the state for living in peace and harmony with other religious groups, and for supporting his administration in its policies and programmes

The CAN leaders, who spoke during the visit, were the State Chairman, Rev. Nelson Onyeakachukwu, and the Co-ordinator, Christian Pilgrimage in the state, Haruna Danjuma.

They expressed happiness with the President’s performance, described him as the state’s good ambassador who had made everyone proud.

“Christians in Katsina are happy with both Governor Masari in the state and yourself at the centre. We will continue to support both of you,” the CAN leaders told the President.

Shock awaits Buhari, APC, says PDP

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party has said that both the President and his party will be shocked by the outcome of the 2019 presidential and other elections.

It also warned the President, the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies against rigging the elections.

The main opposition party added Nigerians were determined to effect a positive change in the polity in 2019, and would therefore not condone any form of rigging.

The National Chairman, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, told one of our correspondents that “President Buhari is being deceived by those who are not familiar with politics of their states that they would deliver results to him.”

“The President and the APC would be shocked with the level of their rejection by the electorate come 2019. Winning of elections is not about boasting. What will the President tell Nigerians that he has done for them? What will he tell workers he has done for them? What will he tell Nigerians he has done about the economy, job creation and others?”

He added, “Will Nigerians vote for someone who will not stay in the country to administer the country, but would choose to be junketing all over the world?

“We know he relies on security agencies and INEC to rig for him, but we want to assure him that the people are determined to put an end to the misery he and his government have brought to the nation.”

Also, Second Republic member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, described Buhari’s boast that the APC would win the 2019 elections as empty and lacking in substance.

The former lawmaker said this while reacting to a statement credited to the President, in Abuja, on Friday.

He said, “The boast as far as I am concerned, the man Buhari is not a democrat and he is incapable of learning to become one.

“I sincerely hope that the 2019 elections come and happen the way normal elections should hold because if what we saw happen in Ondo, Ekiti and the last three Senatorial bye elections in Katsina, Kogi, and Bauchi is what they refer to as an election, then I doubt if we are going to have an election worth its name.

“If we call it an election because people have gone to vote and there was no too much violence, but a humongous amount of money was doled out to voters in exchange for their ballots; will the election be worth anything? I doubt.”

APC planning to rig –SDP

In its reaction, the Social Democratic Party said the reference made by the President to the recently concluded elections was an evidence that the APC was planning to rig the elections.

The National Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Alfa Mohammed, said the Bauchi, Ekiti and Kogi elections recorded a high level of vote-buying and even ballot snatching in some instances.

He said, “First of all, the examples of recent victories of the APC in recent by-elections are unfortunate because all of them from Ekiti to Bauchi and Kogi states experienced high cases of electoral fraud.

“There was vote-buying and ballot snatching, and of course the impoverishment of the people before elections made the people vulnerable.

“The APC has also engaged in intimidating the judiciary which remains the last hope on election matters. Judges have been arrested by this government for flimsy reasons while none has been convicted.

“So, these are negative indications that our democracy has been replaced by dictatorship but we are ready to lead Nigerians to the battle field against the APC. This is a challenge and we will be up to the task.”

When David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly called Davido released his first hit single, “Back When”in 2011, no one was surprised that he would some day end up becoming one of the biggest music stars around. Like it or leave it, the ‘Áye’ singer has proved beyond every reasonable doubt that he understands the secrets of making good music, and he’s not leaving anything to chance.

Rewind back to when he released his debut song,’Back When’, Davido has not slowed down in his quest to conquer the world with his music just as he has not stayed away from controversy. To him, controversy, which is associated with fame has become his second nature and the sensational singer is enjoying every bit of it while it lasts. At best, he has developed thick skin as far as scandals are concerned.

From 2012, when a picture of the pop star and a hooker in bed went viral on social media, David has forever been drawn into controversy. When his fans thought that the mess would never be repeated, another photo surfaced online with yet another hooker. It has been controversy till date.

Indeed, apart from what happened in 2016, after the sensational singer got into a nasty public fight with his baby mama, Sophia over the custody of their daughter, one controversy that Davido would not forget in a hurry was being linked to the death of his friend, Tagbo Umieke on October 3, 2017, an accusation that forced the singer to release the CCTV recording that exonerated him from the crime. He also lost other two of his friends, Olugbemiga ‘DJ Olu’ Abiodun and Chime Amaechi to the cold hands of death in one week.

Davido was also involved in other controversies that almost ruined his musical career but each time, he managed to wriggle himself out of such controversies. Recall the fight one of his aides had with security personnel at the Murtala Mohummed International Airport, Ikeja, and the bawl the singer had with South African actress, Boity, who reportedly accused the pop star of making sexual advances at her after his 30 Billion concert in Zimbabwe.

But beyond his controversies, Davido remains one Nigerian singer you cannot ignore. He has continued to up his game, with every hit single he released. After releasing “Back When” which became an instant hit, Davido followed it up with another hit single, “Dami Duro”in 2011. Since then, it has been back to back hits, as if he’s yet to give his best. When his fans thought ‘Aye’ would be his best song, the very talented singer returned with ‘Skelewu’, which ruled the airwaves across the continent, followed by ‘Overseas’and ‘Globe.’ But his ’30 Billion’ which dominated the Nigerian music space throughout the greater part of last year, remains one of Davido’s greatest hits. The 30 Billion tour of America and Europe also was an indication of how big Davido has become on the world stage.

Besides, he also toured Africa with his ’30 Billion hit song’, performing to the cheering crowds at Kigali, Rwanda, Kinshasa, Brazzaville, Niamey and Dakar respectively. The gains of that musical tour are better imagined than said-increased popularity and commercial gains. However, before dropping ’30 Billion’, Davido also released two other hit singles, “If” and Fall” that have gone diamond and platinum respectively at a time. His latest hit song, ‘Assurance’ which is currently being played at every nook and cranny of the society, will end up becoming the biggest song in Nigeria. The song, an ode to his girlfriend, Chioma Rowland who turned 25 recently, has become an anthem.

Controversial private jet

Davido’s announcement in May, this year that he was expecting the arrival of his new private jet generated a lot of heat on social media with tongues wagging that the ‘IF’crooner’s net worth wouldn’t buy him a private jet yet. Some also thought it was another gimmick like that of Psquare when it was rumoured that the singing twins bought a private jet. But the handsome singer shut their mouths after the jet landed in Lagos, amid excitement. Davido’s reply to his critics on Instagram definitely put to rest doubts of his ownership of the aircraft. He wrote, “Lmao, all of you, what is mine is Imade’s and what is my father is mine.” That triggered another controversy. Who owns the jet, himself or his father?

Furthermore, it’s not about who owes the jet, but the fact that the pop star who has been flying around the world renting jets is now about living the luxury life as the first Nigerian entertainer to owns the luxury ‘ride.’He has worked so hard to attain the heights he has today. And if acquiring a private jet would give him the comfort he desires in life, why not? After all, whatever belongs to his father, belongs to him. While tongues are still wagging, it’s being speculated that the jet would not only be serving the singer and his crew but also, it would be bringing returns to him, having once hinted that he would be going into the aviation business.

Davido and His women

Like all music stars, Davido has soft spot for women. Having been linked to many of them in the past, his relationship with his current girlfriend, Chioma appears to be more real thank fake.The Omo Baba Olowo’s (OBO) generosity to his new girlfriend, reached its peak when he presented her with a N45 million Porsche on her birthday. The “IF” crooner sprang a surprise at Chioma’s birthday by presenting her with the luxury ride. Besides, the lovebirds are everywhere building nestle. Last week, they were together in Port-Harcourt, Owerri and Cotonu. And Davido, out of excitement now addresses Chioma as ‘wifey.’ In his Instagram post, the singer wrote, “ davidoofficialTouch down wifey home town !! Club go turn traditional wedding this nite.” He also wrote in another post, “First trip with my woman !! Cotonu .We on the way!! AIR OBO Touch down.”

All said and done, the rave of the moment has carved out a niche for himself in all ramifications. Being born into a wealthy family has not distracted him from pursuing his musical career, and ranking among the best of the best in Africa. He has stayed true to his dream, and it’s not surprising that every emerging Nigerian singer looks up to him as a source of inspiration. And Davido has continued to soar even in the face of scandals and setbacks. He’s indeed a ‘lone star in the forest.’
