You're right ......but he said he knows them personally though.
Yes I know the owner personally. But still has doubt about the whole thing as everyone is assuming or saying there's a ban on recruitment from Nigeria. Also sent that screenshot to an immigration lawyer in the UK and the dude said same thing even when it's stated one can apply on individual basis and not via recruitment agencies

That Red list only affects those that want to employ people enmasse. That is why most employers in the UK are avoiding agencies and prefer to employ individuals directly....

Individuals are getting these carer jobs o, so you need to let your employers know that.
Attached is what I sent to the care home about the whole red list thing

But a friend of mine and her family travelled to UK in February via work.
The list was revised in March.

Nigeria is no more a red list country, doesn't that have access to internet?
I meant as regards to developing countries recruitment, not covid-19

Fraud is written all over this email.
Let me ask you some questions:
1.) Do you know the person personally?
2.) Is the company based in Nigeria or the UK?
3.) If based in the UK, is it registered with the Company House in the UK?
4.) How much were you asked to pay and to what bank account?
4.) I can see a Nigerian name at the end of the mail, is that the owner of the company?
5.) Have you done background check on that name!

If you cannot answer those questions satisfactorily to yourself, please delete that email and continue to search for other car home jobs.

Usually, CoS is not supposed to be paid for and so many fake agencies are pouncing on the desperation of Nigerians....

I once had an agency that told me to pay like yours too but I mailed her back to know if I can pay all she requested for after I got a job interview and CoS, she didn't reply till date grin
With this WHO Red list in place, will this affect getting jobs directly from care homes. By direct, I mean not via recruitment agencies. I have a care home that's willing to give me sponsorship and I know the owner personally but he's having doubts about this red list thing and sayin nigeria has been banned from applying for Health care jobs in the UK, from Nigeria. Please advice.

Thanks

Hi Zhandee, you can try some of the online learning platforms that have been suggested here by others such as Caredemy, Florence Academy, Alison, Reed, etc. Relevant courses include the Care Certificate (15 care standards) or other Health and Social Care diploma and certificate courses, which must be CPD-accredited. Florence Academy certificates are free, while most other platforms charge small amounts of money for certificates. Duration is self paced.

If you're looking to have practical care experience, then you may have to look for any of the following, convenient for you, and volunteer or work for a sufficient length of time: a good hospital, old people's home, home for the disabled, orphanage (for child and adolescent care experience), destitute home, etc. Whichever you go for, endeavour to get a proof of your work experience, be it a letter of attestation or recommendation, at the end of your volunteerism or work.
All the best.cheesy

Pensions?! No pls, except you have been out of job for 4months before you can access the cash. Atleast that is what pension policy/plan says...except I am wrong.
Out of job for 4months to access 25% that's if you not up to 50 years. The rest you can access when you are 50years

Your dependants are your spouse and kids.
.
Brp for students has 16months validity (correct me if I am wrong oo). So is it still ok if I bring my kids after 8months since It will still have 8months validity?

Pardon the confusion. Must here is relative - it was used to convey the importance of the situation. I should have typed "should ideally" since this is advisory.

The dependant won't have access to "free" (subsidised) NHS services since IHS is not paid for visas that are 6 months or less. What if something happens and your dependant needs healthcare? The bill might be crippling and end up being more than the yearly IHS.

Also, coming too close to when the main applicant puts in an application for the graduate visa might raise flags as to the timing. You need to have lived together for some time before the application - this shows genuineness and doesn't come across as arranged. Coming few weeks to the visa end date might raise some doubts around being genuinely married except there are genuine reasons for this.

If you plan to arrive less than 6 months to the end of the main applicant's visa and for some reason, UKVI delays your application or other circumstances beyond your control happen, it means that you might not arrive before your partner has to put in an application for the graduate visa which may see you living without your partner for the better part of 2 years, in the absence of a work visa. If you're not in the UK as a dependant prior to the application, you won't be able to apply as a dependant.

Some HRs also don't have a strong grip of immigration rules and it might be difficult to get a job (if you want one as a dependant) because 1. You don't have a BRP (even with BRP, some of them still errorneously delay employment checks because it's not a situation that they are used to and 2. The short duration on the visa might deter some employers (the ones who will employ you will do so irrespective of the hurdles).

So to avoid stress and plenty "explanations" or last minute issues, better to join earlier.

Please note that each application is different and is subject to the ECO's discretion.
Please I need clarification on this, does it apply to children or just spouse. Asking because I intend going with my wife alone and bring the kids towards the end of my studies

Good day everyone. Please advice. I have an unconditional offer from RGU to study Msc Drilling and Well Engineering. I chose this course because Its my field(drilling) but from what I hear, there are not so many drilling jobs in the UK. My family members in the UK adviced I go for project management or construction project Management as it is in demand in the UK and it's closely related to what I studied(Architecture). My problem here is all my time spent working since graduation has been in drilling. I am really confused
