I really liked the plot and thought the movie had potential

The storyline itself had soooo much potential, I thought they had some good ideas but it was executed very poorly. Pacing was rushed, they were just jumping from scene to scene with minimal explanation resulting in a very choppy and confusing flow. Too many 'big' events occurring, with no fleshed-out explanation for why and how we got there lol, throughout the movie I was like 'just like that?'

And I like Omotola but I found her acting only slightly better than terrible...too forced, how tf did she win that AMVCA award for it (lol who am I kidding, we know these things are more about politics than merit)

I'm disappointed because the plot idea itself was genuinely good lol

Artemis Fowl 2020

Just Wow!
Artemis Fowl 2020 follows the adventure of the titular character as he tries to save his kidnapped father from an evil fairy.

That being said, this is easily the most incoherent and incompetent movies I've seen all year. AF costs over 100 million dollars to produce, yet this humongous budget does not show in any way. The movie has like 4 or 5 sets in total most being indoors. The CGI at the best of times look uninspiring and generic and at the worst it looks like shit. Even the actions sequences are just bland.


The story is so generic yet muddled and makes very little sense. There is this character who is just dumping exposition after exposition. Things that we should have seen are instead told to us via exposition. Characters are introduced by exposition and they never get a chance to grow.

In the beginning of the movie we are told that Artemis Fowl has genius level intellect but through out the movie he isn't really put into any situation that shows that he is exceptionally smart, rather things just conveniently fall in place for him.


The pacing is awkward and when the movie ends you can't help but asking "is this it "?

The acting in the movie is easily the worst thing about it. I know that most child actors suck mainly because they don't have experience in acting but this is a 100+ million movie - the could have done better.
The boy who plays Artemis is atrocious. He can't emote to save his life. Colin Farrell who is a very experienced actor just looks incredibly bored - like he just wants to collect his pay check and go. Even the acting from Judy Dench looked sub-par.


This movie is a total waste of time. Don't bother watching it

Once you start knowing your left from right, can steal meat from pot of soup, tell lies etc. you're no longer innocent. Let me add that we have babies in spirit world, withcraft etc. so yes they'll be judged.
