justwise: That question is basically asking you how much you have budgeted for the trip. How much will the trip cost you?

You can't answer that question if you haven't calculated for real how much the trip will cost you. The amount it will cost you is the amount available for you

That amount realistically has to be more than enough for the trip
Yeah but what i'm trying to figure out here is there's a seperate question for if part of your trip is sponsored, and another one for how much it'll cost u personally. So what i'm trying to understand here is, what do they want? Cost of the whole trip? You plus sponsor?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 9:02pm On Jun 15, 2013
Dis Guy: Na wa o

seems they need to rephrase that question, many people are asking that several times now
hope there's a support document online
Yeah its a very sneaky question (excuse for them to deny you and waste your time and money). There's no document or anything to clarify the question at all.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 7:52pm On Jun 15, 2013
Hello house, quick question. On the online form, the part which says, 'how much money will be available for your visit' is that referring to money in your account alone or money combined if you're being sponsored for maybe the flight.

Thanks
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 12:59pm On Jun 09, 2013
justwise: You can give it a trail but i have my fear still.
I think i'll just use my father as a sponsor for the trip and get a letter from the office.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 11:15am On Jun 09, 2013
justwise: Any amount you present has to be justified with paper evidence, you have to state the source of the income AND proof your tie-to Nigeria, at the moment your job is the only strong tie you have.

The student rule does not apply in this case.
Hmmm okay. So say i get the letter from my job, i get the money in my account (evidence of that being a bank statement and its paid in by my father)

Btw my job is an asst mgr, my salary is abt 80k p/m. (also thank you for all the assistance, i knw we're going back and forth here)
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 10:59am On Jun 09, 2013
justwise: You will have problem in finance area, if you are not earning enough to afford the trip then you will struggle to convince the ECO.
Not even if i make the deposit? How about i leave out the job part? or explain with details? sad.
Is that the only problem? how about time? Will l need the money to sit in my account for a certain period like with my student fees?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 10:45am On Jun 09, 2013
justwise: Since you just started the job do you think your company will be able to give you leave to attend the graduation?

How much is your actual salary or range?
...uh yeah. Maybe not for the fell 7 days as i want, but i'm trying to work around that(and i'm 80% confident i'll get the time off)
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m):
justwise: Do you mean you haven't started the job yet?
I will be confirmed in July
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by gbaby87(m): 9:34am On Jun 09, 2013
Hi All, i've been trying to read and follow the posts and answers here, hoping to find a problem similar to mine so that i don't end up asking the same question over and over again (cos i can imagine how annoying that is). However i havent quite come across one that covers all my issues so i figured i'd just ask anyway and hope for an answer.

1. I completed my Msc in UK last year and returned in october with abt four months left on my visa, during my time there (one year) i came and left once (xmas holiday) and i applied for a schengen visa as well(and got it).

2. SO now i'm back in nigeria but, thinking of going back for my graduation in july, 13th.
3. I got a job in a well known company, the position is good but the pay is measly so its really not doing anything for my account and therefore my account is going to be funded by aunt (she also funded it for my student visa, my dad is wary of internet banking lol)

With all these stated, these are the issues-
A. I havent applied yet...will i have enough time if i intend to leave on the 11th of julyhuh
B. My account is not that exciting its currently a little under 200k, and my uk account is also blank
C. The account status can be rectified but it is likely to be a lump sum payment. I think i can justify it, but will it fly at the UKBA regardless?
D. Also what do i do about my employment status? Employed or unemployed as i havent been confirmed yet.

THANK YOU!!!

@ carfreak, sure no problem, I can give you the number of the agent. Trust me, she's better than wakanow cos I tried them and they were putting up availabilties they didn't even have, you now find out its non-existent when you try to pay. The lastminute hustling that babe did for me I cannot express. If you decide not to go with wakanow lemme know.

What a week! I have just spent the past 3days struggling to book a flight (my fault I waited too long), then my bank refused to issue me a pta cos my account type was not current so I had to sit and search for an alternative solution. But like I always say, God helps those you help themselves, because just YESTERDAY I was able to get a good flight (KLM) for tonight!!! Yes! Amazingly impossible, and I didn't have to sell my kidney too!!
By the way, as I am no longer asking any questions about tier 4, I guess that means adios amigos! Goodluck to the rest of yous smiley

Like I said. If so far your online account has been working then that's more reliable than one bored babe who you can't locate when you get there.

@sux, I'm sorry but carfreak and whoever can say whatever. This thread was NOT created by your mommy, its nobody's duty to tell you what you want to hear, what they give u is honesty. If you've made a mistake, calling on faith and belief is typical(not saying that its impossible) but the lord helps those who help themselves. You will find no better group of ppl who wish you well than here.

carfreak:
@Gbaby87, as much as i agree with you that we leave too many things to God and faith where we are supposed to do our bit, u dont get this. At which point did my friend leave anything to chance? Was he going to force his initial school to issue him a CAS? Of course he knew he had to do a pre-masters, thats the reason he immediately paid the full tuition fees and look at when he got the CAS and when he applied, he should score an A+ for that. Nope, i dont agree with u, the consulate messed this up, real bad!! This morning, some dude with a megaphone entered my street at 6:15am with a supposed preaching. Everybody was visibly upset yet no one wanted to talk because he "was doing God's work". Bro, i came to my balcony at issued him a warning that if he didnt leave the front of my house, i would not be responsible for my actions. The guy took off. Could he do that on Bourdillon, or VGC before we even say abroad? Bt because its good ol Surulere, lawlessness is supreme and nothing can happen. We are just religious people but do not know God and i'm not one of such hypocrites.
Yeah, but dont you think he was cutting it a bit too close? anything couldve have happened to cause a delay and i know that some people (in their minds) think that if the ECO sees the resumption date is close he will fastforward the process, beans! For all you know it didnt even get to his table till the day before sef! im not saying its his fault i'm just saying people 'assume' too much. Me myself i'm a victim of assuming. E.g. When i was applying my bank statement said 'Kemi' short for Folukemi (duhh right?) wrong!! i was advised to go and change the name to reflect my FULL name why? cos who's to say i didnt go and get someone elses documents. how many folukemi's are in lagos? when the guy explained all this to me, i swear it was like light in my head and as much as it pains me, i understand their logic.

I find that nigerians like to blame and leave too much to God. Do your part and he will do His. You think the ECO is not also praying that he catches you?? I'm sorry bout your friend, but dude was leaving too much to chance, the fact that he didn't even know he had to do pre-masters, no comment. Like I said know what you're about, and nobody can tell u nonsense

@justwise, so basically it can be done, you, for some jaded reason don't think so. Getting a job is not as hard as you think and I'll prove it to you.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by gbaby87(m): 2:06pm On Sep 08, 2011
@justwise, imagination!!! You don't even know if I don't actually know someone there who'll give me a job. My problem is not 'there' my problem is 'here'. Are you tryin to tell me you can't imagine that its possible for someone to be hired against all odds?? All I want to know is, is there a way to work after studying?! SIMPLE.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by gbaby87(m): 11:55am On Sep 08, 2011
t. Or u apply for a fulltime, AFTER school, they say you've got it, pending all the legal stuff, so my question is simple. Can you WITHOUT a doubt NOT be able to work? Or there is a way? If say tescos wants to give a FT job as manager(and they knw I'm foreign etc) question is can I NOT apply to be able to stay and work. Simple.
@ ssi, pta is too small I want to take accommodation fees with me. I haven't actually checked o! For all I know I didn't get it and I'm here making plans. I'll go for it today sha, pray for me!!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered by gbaby87(m): 8:26am On Sep 08, 2011
You still don't get what I'm saying.
Don't you know you can work parttime and then the person decides they want you fulltime? Or can't you apply for a fulltime job and you actually get it THEN go for a post-study visa? That's what I want to know, cos the actual problem is that most of these ppl stay and don't even HAVE a reason for staying.
