Please has anyone been issued the 3 months single entry visa yet? People who recently had their interviews how far? Una don see the visa? |
Hi, can someone please direct me to the thread for EB1A visa category. Thank you. |
VisaZest:What number can you be reached on? |
I saw a response here to send a mail to Lagos NIV regarding GTB MRV receipt issues. I did that and weeks later I received an invite for interview at the Lagos consulate. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it because I was out of the country for work and it was just a day and half notice before the said date, the email also stated that the interview cannot be rescheduled. I replied immediately and mentioned my reasons for not being able to make it. Is my MRV still valid at this point? Is it possible for me to mail Abuja consulate with the hopes of getting a chance for a date from there? Or should I just pay another fee and start afresh. |
My current situation, paid visa fee via GTB June 2024, created a profile but didn't schedule and appointment, hopping for closer dates then migration to the portal happened. I tried countless times to log into my profile with no luck. (Response: "User inactive" . So I went ahead to create another profile with a different email in September, still unable to schedule an appointment with it. Response: "invalid receipt" Raised several tickets on Avits stating my case with screen shots and visa fee receipt, yet no response. Made calls too, no head way. 2nd of November an activation email arrives for my first profile from the old portal asking me to activate and change password. I clicked on the activation link, then I changed my password successfully. Tried to log in afterwards but still getting same old response "User inactive". It's been more than one month after the activation (so I thought) but still can't log in. Tickets raised on Avits on the other hand are still unanswered. I am very frustrated at this point. Please what could I be doing wrong? Why am I still getting this "user inactive" response? Do I have 2 profiles? What do I do at this point? PLEASE HELP! Any one faced same challenge? |
Thank you for the update. Taal17: |
Hi guys, thank you for your responses on my previous concerns. I have one more issue at hand. I'm one of the people who have a valid visa fee from the old portal but didn't schedule an ian appointment. Fast forward after the migration, my profile has been saying "user inactive" for months. i decided to create another profile using a different email but I'm unable to use my GTB receipt. Created tickets and got a response to upload a screenshot of my vise fee receipt which I have done severally yet no head way from there. Recently, I got an email that I have been moved to the new portal and to reset my password which I did with the link that was sent to me but when I try to log in, it still says "user inactive" while the newly created profile still has open and unresolved tickets with the GTB visa fee receipts uploaded. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How do I go about this issue? It's been over a month. I need help please. |
Greetings everyone, I would like to know, what other documents (if any) does a US citizen need for a travel visit to Canada from Nigeria besides a valid US passport? Also, can a minor kid (US citizen) be allowed into USA from Canada in the company of an adult guidian? (A relative). I would like my child to go on a 2 weeks visit to see his Dad in the US. It's been 6 years since he left and I haven't been able to renew my visa to take the boy to go and see him. I'm hoping we can visit Canada, then I'll have a relative take him to his Dad in USA on a short trip and bring him back to me in Canada, then we can return to Nigeria. If this is possible, what documents do I need for them to present at the US POE? and would this in any way affect my chances of getting a US visa as I plan to go for my interview after the trip. His Dad and I are legally divorced but peacefully parenting our child. Please any valid information or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. |
I appreciate, thank you. You have answered the question yourself. Just say it as is in the DS160. The 2nd bold is all you need to fill in the form. Add the number of years for emphasis. If there is any need for further clarification, let it be asked by the VO at the interview and you respond verbally. Have your Divorce Decree on hand. Newspaper publication not needed. The only legal (and consular) reason for a newspaper publication after a divorce is change of your last name (as is for a marriage)
|
Hello fam, I'm back with another question. Ok so I already stated here that ex husband and I got our visas together 7 years ago, while we were going to birth our child. We travelled but he didn't return against our initial plans and agreement as a couple. I had a new carrier to build so I refused to stay and returned with our baby, then went back to work. I traveled twice after then and also came back while my visa expired. Saw him on the first trip but didn't on the second trip because he didn't want me to. Things went really sour between us when I found out he was living with another woman and had moved on. It's been about 6 years since then. Our divorce has been legally finalized and i do not have a cordial relationship with him. (A lot of things happened so I just knew I couldn't continue with the marriage) We do not talk, so I can not tell his exact whereabouts. I'm filling out my DS160 and under the divorce section, there's a column where they asked "what happened" My question is, Would the visa officer know that he stayed back in the US? Secondly, How do I summarize the reasons for the divorce in a precise and straight to the point way? But still explanatory? (A lot happened oh). Is there something like the right key words to use? What is on our decree nisi is dessertion of matrimonial home and the marriage has broken down irritrivalbly. Do I stick to that? Is it explanatory enough? I just don't want to have issues with my renewal because of his stay there. Has anyone faced same situation? Your input will be appreciated. Someone adviced I do a newspaper publication and go with it. Is it necessary? I'm open to that too. |
[quotThank you so much for the response. Is there a way I can contact you? I have some other questions that may need clarity please. author=fkj950ax post=126031174] Visa validity only applies to a cut-off date CBP will permit you entry into the country. Your I-94 covers the time you are in the country. You might not be queried for entry as CBP also determined you are valid for entry. Just hope you don't have an overzealous VO who puts into an account of both births (done before the birthing restrictions) with the current rules. Also have your hospital receipts for both births with you showing your payments in full
|
Hello house, I got my visa in 2016 for the purpose of child birth. (I was heavily pregnant when I went for my interview and I disclosed my intentions) Used it and returned. Went on vacation in 2017, and returned. In 2018 I used same visa, for the purpose of birthing my second child but this time, the visa expired 2 weeks into my stay in the U.S but I didn't stay more than the duration I was stamped in and I returned. So I used 1 visa 3 times. 2 child births and 1 vacation. (on my second birthing trip, I still sent an intent letter to the embassy stating my intentions with the same visa and got the generic email response. Here's my concern, would I be queried at my interview renewal for entering the US with an almost expired visa? What are my chances of scaling my interview. This is my first renewal since then. Happy to hear your opinions. Thank you. |

Hello house, I need answers to this please. I got my B1/B2 visa together with my ex husband in 2016 which was used for the purpose child birth. My ex husband and I later got separated afterwards and he left for the US where he has since been living and settled with someone else. I would like to get a visa to attend my best friend's wedding but I do not know if my ex' stay in the US would affect my chances negatively. I believe that the visa officer would be aware that he is currently in the US. I do not know his current status, address or whereabouts. We have been separated for the past six years since 2017 and our divorce has recently just been finalized. I need an advice on what to do please? |
Hello house, so good to be back on this thread again after many years. I got my B1/B2 visa together with my ex husband in 2016 which was used for the purpose child birth. My ex husband and I later got separated afterwards and he left for the US where he has been living and settled with someone else. I would like to get a visa to attend my best friend's wedding but I do not know if my ex' stay in the US would affect my chances negatively in any way because I'm quite sure that the consular officer will know that he is currently in the US. I do not know his current address or whereabouts. We have been separated for the past six years since 2017 and our divorce has just recently been finalized. Is there anyone who had same situation as mine? How did you get through? Please let the gurus in the house advice me on what to do. |
