[quote author=Nigeriangirl post=34704863]@Jonbee and everyone who's posted on this issue, u are all not alone. We r in this together...lol.

It's amazing to know that there's a name for the issue. I must confess ur case Jonbee is an extreme one with the anger and all. I've had this issue since I was a lil girl. First I remember I was in Secondary School and a boarder so u can imagine the living conditions. I would wake up earlier than the rest to go shower whilst the bathroom's dry and neat and all then I'd get back into the dorm, dry my feet on a rag and then jump on my bed to attend to the itching bout that always ensued.
This issue has persisted. My mom told me she had same issue as a young girl and changed sponges till the prob automatically stopped. My younger sis also experiences this but hers isn't as regular as mine.

The remedies listed by most people here have worked occasionally for me, stopped using sponges but a cotton face cloth and NEVER bath with cold water except on very hot nights and surprisingly, I don't itch on such days.

Now, the main reason y I googled the issue and then found this thread is cos I itch just for nothing, NOTHING!!! Mine doesn't just happen after a bath but almost anytime it pleases the irritant.

For instance, today's been a cold day and I have the flu so stayed home and wrapped myself up in a furry blanket and then the monster surfaced to the point it woke me from sleep.

I itch just by thinking of something irritating, not drying up my skin immediately after bath and standing right in front of a fan with the ac on as well and my feet on a towel to dry them and then sometimes for no just reason.

You guys have been of great help to me this evening and I'll make out time to see a doc as I don't want to use self medication to avoid harming myself.

Thank you so much guys and pardon me for my epistle. We shall overcome![/quote/] Really! Nowadays I itch for no reason too. My body just iches for 10-15 mins. I've been attributing this to my dry skin and the harmattan. I pray this so stops!

I really thought I was the only one going through this. It started when I was in Junior Secondary and one of my friends thought it was "egbesi". True, it worsens when I see anything dirty around and I get angry too. I dunno why I experience mine mostly every Sunday morning then, I would become frantic when it was Sunday morning and I had to take my bath. It stopped long ago around 2009 but all of a sudden resurfaced again this harmattan(2015), and became intense this Sunday morning which was why I decided to google it to find out if I was the only one suffering from this or it was a condition. Thanks a lot, I am not alone, lol.
