kenny987: Is the fight to be fought with the law or outside of it? Are security agencies to pick n choose what court orders to obey and which to disregard? If they treat the court with such contempt and levity, are they to expect such court to listen to them? By what order of court have they remanded him in their custody without formal charge? Does the order to present him at the court hearing automatically translate to interference with the fight against corruption? How are u so sure he pocketed money and is therefore guilty of whatever claim as u have asserted? Has he been adjudged by any court n found guilty? I had thought you had a good grasp of the unfolding event but your perception is rather faulty. His arrest was ordered by the court in the first place but fortunately or unfortunately they couldn't produce him in court. |

kenny987: Those same tanker drivers have debunked that accusation and made it clear that the DSS lied in that respect. It's been on the news... You've got to be alot smarter about this. I may have been a little behind News but I haven't seen a link or credible source corroborating your point. Could the tanker drivers attest to the DSS claim however genuine to the detriment of their paymaster?. The tanker drivers that we know would deny any fact admissible against Ubah from whom they have so much to gain. Do you know a potential protest in favour of Ubah had been in the works before such was busted by the DSS?.. kenny you forgot to draw your daggers, hope you're in a blissful mood. |

Sanchez01: It would be unfair to pronounce him guilty when a competent court of law is yet to do so. Besides, the DSS' jurisdiction does not extend to financial crimes, even if we are to assume Ubah is a criminal. Furthermore, the charge the secret police labeled him with, “economic crimes of national security dimension", is laughable and also makes a mockery of our democracy.
If indeed the DSS is interested in seeing justice take its course, they would have presented him in court on those two occasions they could not.
Ifeanyi Ubah's only sin is that he tried arm twisting the government by using the NNPC to stage a protest.
Again, this whole thing could also be a strategy ahead of the Anambra gubernatorial election. You know what they say about politicians who are incacerated and let loose. However we might conjecture, the fact remains sacrosanct. He was arrested over economic sabotage. He was found to have incited the petroleum tanker drivers to stop lifting products from the NNPC. As a citizen he owns no right to hold the economy into ransom. |

PapaBrowne: I don't know how to upload videos on Nairaland. So I will just post a link to the video.
"Only The first three kings of Lagos were of Benin Ancestry". Need I say any more?
Nothing existed in most of Lagos when the Binis got there. In just a few parts there were very tiny settlements without any centralized authority. A few Binis settled in and took charge. No war, no disputes which is an apparent sign that it was family settlements that existed and not tribal settlements. The Aworis were present. The Binis were present. And probably other tribes.
Now what beats my imagination is how an a Yoruba man from Osun would be screaming other tribes should leave Lagos that the city belongs to him when the entirety of Lagos Island is called Eti-Osa, a very clear Benin name.
But like I said, Binis are not claiming Lagos neither are we even claiming Benin. We are forward thinkers and don't glory in the past. We know for sure that the cities of the future would have citizens of every tribe so we have no interest in tribal ownership of a city. Your sense of history is very shallow however it takes a common sense to know that you will be in for a trouble bigger than you if you dare claim a blade of grass in Lagos. However you just might tell IPOBS you are not interested in claiming Benin. But I also wonder if there is anything one can claim from ile-ibinu The smiling one |
