Politics › Re: Say Yes To Marijuana And No To Tobacco And Alcohol by gboso: 1:25pm On Dec 07, 2012 |
joseph1832: Marijuana or cannabis, like its popularly called in Nigeria 'Igbo' is a substance that is vigorously frowned upon by most people, not only is it illegal for one to use or possess it, it is also deemed a taboo for one to be seen using it or even perceived to be associated with someone who use it.
Which ever way we tend to perceive Marijuana, it is no news that Holand a country in Europe allow the use of it, recently, the states of Colorado and Washington in the U.S have also allow the use of Marijuana for recreational purposes for persons 21 years and above. Marijuana usage have never been proven to cause any damage to an individual, many would say it causes dependency on the part of the user, while some will say it leads the user to take hard drugs such as cocaine, heroine, opium etc. There have never been a proven case where marijuana has caused damage the way alcohol and tobacco does. Sorry@op,all Nigerians learn 4rm d so called white is d bad character dey po
Marijuana can be use medically to treat some certain illness such as glaucoma, asthma etc! I ask, What medical purpose is tobacco and alcohol use for?, has there been any case where tobacco is use to treat a certain ailment? Or alcohol is use to cure a certain sickness?
Here in Nigeria, marijuana users are vehemently ostracize by most people! They call you all sorts of names and even say you are not serious just cause you are a user, in fact there's no hiding it that the current sitting President of the most powerful country in the world use it at one point in time, same goes for the Afro Beat Legend, even celebrities in the U.S, these are people highly respected all over the world.
The usage of alcohol and tobacco have cause untold damage to people everyday yet it is still legal in many countries, it is even used and sold indiscriminately!. What harm has the usage of marijuana cause? If its okay for people to use alcohol and tobacco on a daily basis, surely its okay for people to use marijuana too, Dipsomaniacs and tobacco users are allowed to do whatever they want even publicly flaunt their drinking and smoking style while marijuana users are ostracized!. I ask, who in the world today respects a dipsomaniac .
I find it frivolous that majority of us Nigerians treat the issue of marijuana like its a plague! Our politicians steal billions of naira everyday and we celebrate them like kings and queens, a simple man who has never hurt a fly in his life smokes his weed and they call him all sorts of names even treat him like an outcast!.
I believe its time we stop pettifogging over the issue of marijuana. States in the U.S whose economies are ten times buoyant than the whole of our economy are allowing the recreational use of it and we are busy chastising, berating, lampooning marijuana users, even celebrating rogues and idiots. If marijuana is illegal in Nigeria, alcohol and tobacco should be illegal too! After all, "what is good for the goose is good for the gander " Quod erat de monstrandum. Sorry@ op,all Nigerians learn is d bad character of d so called white.see wat someone post 4geting dat children do read dis trend. Is a pity dat we r doom. |

Family › Re: She Feels Like Killing Her Mother. by gboso: 5:57pm On Nov 25, 2012 |
Brand_new: I read this story somewhere and I thought I should share it with you. READ. This is my true life story. I hate my mother and i feel like killing her, yes i hate her so much. Just before you start insulting me hear my story. It all started when my mum got pregnant at the age of 20, according to what i heard her father was very poor and never had time for the family. When a rich family who have been childless for ten years heard about her they offered to buy the baby from her and she foolishly agreed. Infact that was the begining of suffering for me, at age 0-5 everything was ok, infact they treated me as their own child. But when i clock five(5) my adopted mother became pregnant and every one felt it was as a result of my good luck. She later gave birth to two sons making us two girls and two boys. One would have thought i would be treated nicely but that wasn't the case. Infact that was when i was ignored most and i eventually became a slave in the house. At first i couldn't understand why my own mother would be so wicked to me until she eventually told me at age 15 that she wasn't my mother and that they bought me from my family that as far as she is concern i'm a slave and that she wil continue to treat me as such. On hearing this i ran to the kitchen and stabed myself on the belly, #crying# my whole world fell down. I was rushed to the hospital and the doctors quickly saved me, when her husband came to the hospital he was heart broken infact he started crying and for the first time he slapped his wife and ask her why she told me when they already agreed to tell me when i'm 18... This man has always been good to me both as a father and a friend, infact he was the one that taught me mathematics when i was slow in learning it, i believe this was among the many reasons his wife hated me because i was her husbands favourite. So after i recovered from the hospital, things went back to normal and she started acting nice. But all hell broke loose when two years later my adopted father died in an auto-crash when coming from a business trip, by now i was 17years and i just finished my secondary school, we were all devastated by the news, its wasn't a good period i must confess. After the burial my adopted mother became really wicked to me, all my hope of going to the university died. Sometimes i was made to stay for two days without eating, money wasn't the problem because my adopted dad left behind alot of investment! There was this time that her brother came to stay with us and he molested me, i was stil a virgin at that time. On that particular day just both of us were at home because my adopted mum travel with her children to the village for a family meeting. He forced his way into me and stole my pride as a woman... After a year i realised that there was no future for me in that house, so i ran away in search for my biological mother. During this process i became homeless and i had to sleep on uncompleted houses in the bushes. I was raped on many occasions by robbery gangs who came and met me sleeping in their hide out! On this fateful day, i met a young lady and i begged her to give me money to buy food, at first she ignored me but later told me to follow her. She took me to her house, bath me and cooked for me, after which she told me to relax that this is my new home as from that day. I was so happy and i cudn't believe there were stil people wit a good heart... The following day she told me that instead of giving my body free for food ,that it was better i became a professional and make good money from it. That was when she told me that she is a prostitute and that she would love me to join her. I had no choice but to accept her offer... I prostituted for three good years,by this time i was living on my own in a well finished apartment because i was sleeping with politicians and they were paying well. My friend met a guy that changed her life and stopped her from prostituting, he is a wealthy guy and he also got married to her. On their wedding day i met this fair guy so who so funny, we stated dating and i told him about my past and what led to my prostituting. He felt sorry for me and told me that he loves me and that my past is a past tense. After two months he propose to me and i accepted, my friend parents accepted to act as my parents on the wedding day. My guy really showed me the love i deserved, he took me to New york for shopping and he promised to always love me. When i came back into the country, my gate man told me that there was someone waiting for me who has refuse to leave the compound, so i told him to bring in the person. He came in with a woman, when i ask her who she was, do you knw wat she said "I'M YOUR BIOLOGICAL MOTHER" at this point i was filled both surprise, anger and hatred. She knelt down and started begging me to forgive her for selling me,that she was young and didn't knw wat else to do...
Pls people tell me SHOULD SHE FORGIVE THIS WOMAN after all she's gone through she feels like killing her!
Pls lets us hear from you somebody might find your advice useful....As you never can tell who is reading this. Akuko udu no oba, akuko ugonma.very simple kill her and wait 4 ur children kill u back. |

Culture › Re: Wait!! Before You Marry That Your Igbo Girlfriend, You Have To Read This!! by gboso: 5:31pm On Oct 18, 2012 |
igbsam: This will cause some heads to roll!! And am sure mine is the first. But before you yab me, i copied it from somewhere and decide to post it here to know if this is true! Some it seems some are true as i have witnessed quite a few and i no just fit shout! I even tire to seperate fight. To those who would want to cut my head all in the name of comment, please cut my head and leave my neck standing, bikonu!
Now, take note of the following, dear friend:
1. Forget Authority: If you were marrying a Yoruba woman, she would have come to your house with her mother’s voice ringing in her ears that a husband’s house is a place where life’s lessons are learnt. It’s a different story for the Igbo woman. She comes from a long line of ‘unruly’ people who traditionally have no concept of a central authority figure. Prepare to be stared down eyeball to eyeball in an argument. Prepare to be laughed at when you attempt to assert yourself as the ‘man of the house.’ When she’s done laughing, she’ll measure you, up and down with her left, and sneer: ‘Hian! See this one o; who do you think you’re talking to?’ She’ll clap and shake her head, then she’ll add something in Igbo and then saunter away, wriggling her backside. It isn’t for nothing that the legendary Aba Womens’ Riot happened in…ABA.
Sharap,u r talking arant nonsense
2. Prepare to be Called Names: No, I am not referring to endearing (more like puke-inducing, actually) names like Baby, Darling, or Nkem. I’m talking about names that qualify your lineage and ethnicity in terms that are not exactly complimentary. If you are Yoruba, you and your people will be Ndi ofe mmanu (something about too much oil in your soup and fried things in your life); If you are a Northerner, you and your people will be Ndi beribe (something about possessing a mumu gene). Find solace in the fact that if you are truly Yoruba, you ‘know’ that Igbo people use kick to wake their mothers up from the mat in the morning.
3. Say Goodbye to your Waistline: Your waistline will increase in proportion to the years you spend with an Igbo woman who knows the well-beaten path to her mother’s kitchen. Gone are your days of adding stew to ewedu and okro, or eating egusi soup that was blended with tomatoes. Tufiakwa! The introduction of Ofe Akwu, Nsala, Oha, Onugbu, Ofe Owerri and Oporoko will ensure that when you sit, you fill up the chair. That’s what is called a man, a DIMGBA! Not one that looks like something some hungry wind blew in. When the husband of an Igbo woman stands, people must see that a man is standing. Size matters. Don’t be deceived by the looks of people like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and that six-pack nonsense; he’s not a proper Igbo man. Look more at people like his elder brother Ugo or imagine Noble Igwe a few years after marriage; now, those are real Igbo men! Size matters to an Igbo woman.
4. Be Aware of the Oriaku Syndrome: You have not heard of the Oriaku Syndrome? Don’t worry, I will tell you. You see, when you marry an Igbo woman, you work for her. Your glory comes from seeing her shine. When she steps out, people must SEE your money on her body. If your wife looks like the dried fish she uses in cooking your soup, you are not a man! If she’s dressed like something that was sent to Lagos along with discarded wares, you have failed in your duties! The Oriaku Syndrome posits that your wife is the chopper of your money, simple. Don’t take this to mean that you are her provider and therefore she isn’t independent. When the Igbo man was planting yam, the Igbo woman was planting and harvesting cocoyam, and as every Igbo household can testify, the cocoyam is more useful than yam. Yam is only the king crop because the Igbo society, like others, is phallocentric. Don’t get it twisted.
5. Beware of the Illuminati: Do not marry any Igbo woman that is the first daughter of her father. All first daughters in Igboland are members of the real Illuminati. They sometimes call it by another name: Umuada. They are the most powerful group in Igboland and can do and undo. No one uses small spoon to measure their food. If you marry one and misbehave and she reports you, you are doomed. Even when you don’t marry one, you are still doomed if your wife ever reports you to them. They may decide that all the first daughters from her village will come and live in your house for a month. You may wish to consider suicide if that ever happens to you. It is the Igbo woman who has forgotten the path to her father’s house that suffers in a man’s house when she has the Umuada waiting.
6. The Catholic Church Intervention: When an Igbo woman is tired of you and your nonsense, she’ll simply pack her bag and return to her father’s house. If you do not run after her and collect your bride price back from her father, whatever child she bears anywhere she goes will bear your name. Yes, I’m serious. This is why there are no bastards in Igboland. But thank God for the Catholic Church, this doesn’t happen often. The average Igbo woman is Catholic and the Catholic Church has issues with divorce. Be smart: if you’re going to marry an Igbo woman, marry one who is a Catholic; it reduces her chances of leaving you by about 50%.
You may wish to ask why none of the above is often the case when an Igbo woman marries an Igbo man… well, I don’t know. Perhaps the Igbo man knows how to be ‘oga’ over the Igbo woman and has refused to share the secret with aliens. Sharap,u r talking arant nonsense |
