BreakingNews21: He will dilute the value of Tesla stock significantly with this move. The company is suffering major decreased revenue and sales in all major global markets. Musk is now hated by many for his political leanings by getting thousands of U.S. federal workers sacked and giving that Nazi salute earlier this year. Add in the tax incentives and climate revenue from other auto makers ends Oct 1. Drama is fast approaching! The moment he start redeeming shares, Tesla stocks will dip massively. |

Unless we have other strong competitors in the sector, Dangote will run us "shege"as he did to us with cement. You sat down, fold your hands and watched APC government and CBN minting and pumping trillions of nairas into circulation since 2015 which devalues the naira and increases the prices of commodities, then console yourself with strong competitors. Continue! |

Love800: I want to understand something. If CBN print or mint money and pump it inside the economy, how does it create high prices of rice/inflation? The price of every commodity in the market is determined by the value of money, and value of money is inversely proportional to the volume of money. Which means: 1. The value of money depreciates with increase in volume 2. The value of appreciates with decrease volume 3. When money gains value, the prices of commodities decrease and increase when money looses value. Using Nigeria as a case study, the more CBN mint and pump more nairas into circulation, the more valueless it becomes. Over the years, Nigerian money supply i.e circulating supply (M2) has been increasing and experienced the highest increased since APC took power in 2015. |

donleo92: Tinubu should not ban any importation.
Never!!!!
Let it be open to everyone.
Cement- Dangote- Monopoly Salt- Dangote Sugar- Dangote
Now Oil- Dangote.
Then that's very wrong, and don't forget Dangote is a new player in the game, and the government has to be liberal not like before when what ever he says, the government does..
The oil cartel will not accept, they even prefer to sell at the least profit than Dangote take over oil refinery from them. When you wake up from your dreams, imported are heavily subsidized below there production cost in Europe. Europe has the most expensive petrol in the world while Nigeria is has 12th cheapest petrol in world claiming to import illusionary cheap from Europe. |

Tinubu should open the borders and allow the importation of rice. Nigerian farmers cannot produce enough to feed the whole country owing to herdsmen terrorists. grandstar: What you're saying is so inaccurate.
Why not blame Emefiele? There was only $3bn in the net foreign when he left office and the CBN was owing buyers $7bn.
In other to restore faith in the forex market, the CBN needed to offset the backlog. Companies were exiting Nigeria because of the chronic foreign exchange crunch. Emirates and Shoprite were 2 good examples.
Foreign banks and countries were unwilling to lend to the country. By then, the Nigerian government was spending 97% of its revenue on debt servicing. Buhari left a gargantuam mess.
The government had to turn to collaterized crude oil sales to raise the money and pay off the backlog.
[b]So, the Nigerian government never borrowed massively to fund imports but primarily to pay off the backlog owed FX buyers. Now, things have changed since then. There is over $30bn in the net foreign reserves, more than enough to cover 6 months worth of imports, unlike the dreadly less than one month during those dark days.
At an exchange rate of $1-1,500, imports will be discouraged. That's why the foreign reserves have grown so fast. In addition, exports seems to have picked up, but to expect an explosion in exports in barely two years coming from an abyss is expecting too much, and unrealistic. When you are done deceiving yourself. Another billion dollar loans have been approved by senate to defend naira (subsidize), subsidize substandard expensive petrol from Europe, provide liquidity for importation and loot the rest.
