Politics / Bread Seller Appointed As SSA To Governor, Vows To Continue His Trade by geadom6: 9:26am On Oct 23, 2019
A bread seller appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Social Media to the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has vowed to continue selling bread after office hours, DailyNigerian reports.

“I am still very proud of my business, and I never felt denigrated selling bread. I started selling bread since I was in primary school. I use the proceeds of the business to pay PTA dues for myself, pay for common entrance examination, placement examination and SSCE.

I bought a bicycle for myself when I was in class 4 in primary school. I never bothered to ask my parents for money to buy school uniform. I did my NCE selling bread. .
I am currently going for my final year in the Federal University Gusau. That is how I became who I am today. Right now as we speak, it is bread in front of me,” Abdulmalik Saidu Maibiredi, 24, said......

Crime / Father And Son Rape And Impregnate 13-year-old Girl In Lagos by geadom6: 6:26am On Jun 05, 2019
The Lagos State Police Command’s Gender Unit has arrested a 44-year-old man and his 19-year-old son for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, in a statement on Sunday said that the case was reported at the gender unit of the command by the mother of the victim.
He said that the unit received a complaint that a minor was being defiled by her sister’s husband identified as Kabiru Oke of No. 1, Olatikupo St, Egbeda and his son, Oke Faruq,19, living within the same premises with his father.
He said that the girl had been living with the suspects for some time now and that her sister’s husband started having carnal knowledge of her since last October.
“The second suspect, being the son of the first suspect, started having unlawful carnal knowledge of the same minor on Jan. 10, 2019.
“The suspects have constantly threatened to kill the victim if she ever tells anybody about the affairs. The victim exposed them when her mother suspected some changes in her and discovered that she was pregnant”, Elkana said.
The PPRO said that the girl had been taken to Mirabel Centre by the gender unit of the police command for medical examination, while the two suspects had been arrested and charged to a magistrate court .
“The case was, however, adjourned till May 13, 2019 while the suspects were remanded in Kirikiri Prisons.” NAN quoted him as saying.
Romance / New Bride Mocked After Sharing These Photos From Her Traditional Wedding by geadom6: 6:20am On Jun 05, 2019
A new bride, Toochi Ikpozu, took to Facebook to share photos from her traditional wedding ceremony. But rather than receive congratulatory messages, the Igbo bride was mocked for some reasons.
Toochi Ikpozu told of how her romance story "started like a play" and "discouragement was the order of the day". However, she and her groom overcame all and had a successful traditional marriage.

After she shared her story, web users mocked her makeup. Some mocked her outfit and cake, and some mocked the ceremony and wondered what part of Igbo culture expects the couple to sit on a mat on their traditional wedding day.
Some even went as far as saying the bride's makeup must have been done by the groom's ex.
A look at older photos of the bride on her page shows she's a beautiful woman who simply had the wrong makeup done on her big day.

Crime / Cross River Villagers Bury Man Alive For Allegedly Killing Brother by geadom6: 9:49am On Jun 03, 2019
A young man, simply identified as Ojemba, has reportedly hacked his brother, named Obok, to death.
The incident occurred in a village of Liokom in Wanihem community in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.
An eyewitness, who gave his name as Sunday Uloko, and resides in the village, said the two brothers had no prior misunderstanding until the incident occurred.
“Ojemba is the younger one while Obok is elder. Obok came back from a burial wake-keep yesterday morning and his wife gave him some food to eat before going to the farm to stake his yams.
“While eating Ojemba took the machete which Obok had sharpened to cut yam stakes and from behind dealt three cuts on his brother and removed his head”.
He said the wife of the man killed raised alarm and the villagers gathered and tried to arrest the assailant, who bolted to his room, threatening that anyone who came close would also receive the same treatment he meted out to his brother.

“He went inside his room daring anyone to come close but three young men with Odeshi (local charm to protect the body from dangerous weapon) went into his room and dragged him out”.
The eyewitness said after the villagers gathered and had some deliberations they came to the conclusion that it was an abomination and he too should die with his brother.
“They tied his arms and legs and dumped him inside the grave they dug for his brother and placed his brother’s body on his and covered the grave with earth.
“He was begging and shouting that they should have mercy on him but nobody listened and behold their mother died some weeks back.”
When DAILY POST called the Cross River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, on phone on Friday, her number was switched off but the State Security Adviser (SSA) to Governor Ben Ayade in the North senatorial district, Mr Leo Inyambe, denied knowledge of the incident.
“I am the State Security Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade in the North Senatorial District, No no no, nothing of such happened there,” he stated.

Politics / 12 New Governors Took The Oath Of Office For The First Time, With The 17 Others by geadom6: 11:34am On May 30, 2019
Twelve new governors took the oath of office for the first time, while 17 others who won a second term in the March 9 elections would also be sworn in.
The results of the election showed that only APC and PDP produced governors out of the over 90 political parties that fielded candidates.
The first term governors include Umaru Fintiri (PDP, Adamawa), Prof. Babagana Zulum (APC, Borno), Bala Mohammed (PDP, Bauchi), Inuwa Yahaya (APC, Gombe), Emeka Ihedioha (PDP, Imo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu APC, Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (APC, Ogun), Seyi Makinde (PDP, Oyo), Abdulrazaq AbdulRahman (APC, Kwara), Engr. Abdullahi Sule (APC, Nasarawa), Mai-Mala Buni (APC, Yobe) and Bello Mutawalle (PDP, Zamfara).
Returning governors who would be sworn in today include Okezie Ikpeazu (PDP, Abia), David Umahi (PDP, Ebonyi), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (PDP, Enugu), Udom Emmanuel (PDP, Akwa Ibom), Ben Ayade (PDP, Cross River), Ifeanyi Okowa (PDP, Delta), Nyesom Wike (PDP, Rivers), Samuel Ortom (PDP, Benue), Simon Lalong (APC, Plateau), Abubakar Bello (APC, Niger), Darius Ishaku (PDP, Taraba), Nasir el-Rufai (APC, Kaduna), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (APC, Kano), Aminu Masari (APC, Katsina), Abubakar Bagudu (APC, Kebbi), Mohammed Badaru Abubakar (APC, Jigawa) and Aminu Tambuwal (PDP, Sokoto).
With last Friday’s Supreme Court decision, the PDP has 15 states, while the ruling APC has 14 out of the 29 where governorship election held.
Governorship elections would be held in Kogi and Bayelsa states in November this year, Ondo and Edo in 2020; Anambra in 2021 and Osun and Ekiti in 2022.
Outgoings govs hand over ahead of time
In Lagos, the handover of power between the outgoing governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and the incoming governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would be low-keyed.
The event scheduled to hold at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos may witness only the swearing-in of the new governor and his deputy, Dr Babafemi Hamzat by the State Chief Judge, Opeyemi Oke.
Ambode transmitted his handover notes and other necessary documents to Sanwo-Olu at a private meeting held at the Lagos House, Alausa, in Ikeja.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Sanwo-Olu said Ambode offered him useful advice.
‘‘We are excited with the conversation and thoughts we had with him. We are looking forward to the inauguration ceremony tomorrow (today),” he said.
Ambode’s Chief Press Secretary, Habibu Aruna could not be reached on the plans for the handing over ceremony, as there were speculations that Ambode may not show up at the ceremony having delivered state-wide farewell broadcast.
In Imo, outgoing Governor Rochas Okorocha had vacated the Government House in Owerri in a long motorcade amidst pomp and pageantry. It was not clear if he would personally handover to incoming Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
In Bauchi State, outgoing Governor Mohammed Abdullah Abubakar was absent at the handover ceremony which took place at the Government House in Bauchi last night.
He was represented by his deputy, Architect Audu Sule Katagum, who handed over to the incoming governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
In his speech, the governor congratulated the new governor on his victory and reminded him of the challenges ahead. The incoming governor build on some of the good legacies of the outgoing administration which will help develop the state and its people.
In Ogun, the outgoing Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Taiwo Adeoluwa, handed over vital documents to the Deputy Governor-elect, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who represented incoming Governor Dapo Abiodun at a brief ceremony at the Governor’s Office, Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta.
Daily Trust reports that the outgoing Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was absent at the ceremony, left the Governor’s Office in a motorcade before the handing over ceremony began.
Sources said Amosun would be leaving the state for lesser Hajj last night and might not be part of the ceremony scheduled to hold at MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The deputy governor-elect in her remarks vowed to review contracts and ongoing projects of the state government.
The handing over ceremony will also be low-key in Zamfara state as PDP’s Matawalle takes over from Abdulaziz Yari.
The governor-elect had already approved a 79 -man transition committee headed by the outgoing Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, who had parted ways with Yari long ago.
Sources within the committee told Daily Trust that the ceremony would not be an elaborate one. Yari and Matawalle however had a brief exchange yesterday as part of the handing over formalities.
The Special adviser to Yari on Social Media, Alhaji Dahiru Samaila Mafara, said he was not sure whether Governor Yari would personally attend the swearing in ceremony.
In Yobe, the chairman of the sub-committee for the inauguration of Mala Buni, Alhaji Mala Musti, said the handing over, which would take place at the government house in Damaturu, would be low-keyed.
However, the celebration in Oyo State would likely witness carnival-like events as the two prominent parties, the PDP and APC were reportedly set for a grand outing.
While APC would be celebrating successful eight years tenure of outgoing Governor Ajimobi, the PDP would be celebrating return to the government house after eight years in opposition.
Special Adviser to Ajimobi on Media, Bolaji Tunji, told our correspondent that the governor was supposed to attend the inauguration of President Buhari in Abuja, and from there would proceed for lesser hajj to pray for Oyo state and the nation at large.
The inauguration of Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe would also be low-keyed, Daily Trust learnt.
Yahaya, who would take over from Ibrahim Dankwambo, would be sworn-in at the Pantami Township Stadium.
The Vice Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu Hassan, said the elaborate celebration will hold on June 12, the new democracy day.
“However, there will be dinner at the Banquet Hall of Government House in the evening,” he said.
A media aide to Dankwambo said the outgoing governor would hand over the reins of leadership to incoming governor at the council chamber of the state Government House after the swearing-in ceremony.
In Rivers, Wike has planned an elaborate ceremony for his second term inauguration.
The state government on Monday held a book launch which delves into the activities of the State Government in last four years.
The book launch chaired by the former President Goodluck Jonathan was a beehive of activities as hundreds of people across the 23 Local Government Area of the state attended the event.
The Director of Publicity of Wike inauguration, Barrister Emma Okah called on the people of the State to come out en mass to attend the inauguration.
The handing over ceremony in Nasarawa State would be elaborate.
Daily Trust saw technicians, event decorators and others putting finishing touches to the Lafia City Square were the event would hold.
An aide to Tanko Al-Makura said the outgoing governor would personally attend the ceremony.
Agriculture / What FARMERS Should Do To Prevent Herdsmen &their Cows On Their Farm Land. by geadom6: 8:59am On May 27, 2019
After the rains some stubborn herdsmen will begin to parade their cows on people's farm provoking tribal clashes.

We don't need to fight them, we can put them off our farm if we plant some plants at the boundary of the farm and surroundings.

* Jathropha plants, (Lapalapa) naturaly animals don't like the smell of this plant.

*Senna alata plant (wild water yam) also put animal off.

*Castor plant (Egunsi) is very poisonous to animal,God is wonderful. Animals can smell all poisonous plants.

With the little rain we expect, let's get one out of these plants to secure our farm from those intruders.

You can get victory without a battle if you are prepare for peace, thanks.

This is not hate speech but just a way to prevent clashes of any type and fortunately, the cows will not even eat the plants talk more of killing them.

Help a farmer, help Nigeria.
Crime / We Targeted Secondary School Girls For Marathon Sex;suspected Cultist/rapist by geadom6: 3:16pm On May 26, 2019
AS at the last count, and before the wind blew and the rump of the chicken was exposed, 19 unsuspecting businessmen had fallen victims to Internet fraud allegedly perpetrated by a 28-year-old dismissed soldier, Ayobami Onigbinde.

This confession came as a suspected cultist/rapist admitted that his gang targeted secondary school girls aged below 20 years for marathon sex.
Years back, Ayobami was kicked out by the Army authorities for allegedly using fake papers to gain admission into military training school.
Nemesis was said to have caught up with him when he was about passing out from the school as the eagle eyes of the Army personnel discovered that he presented fake documents at the point of entry. Without batting an eyelid, he was booted out for forgery.
Why he was not prosecuted for forgery remains unknown.
However, after roaming the streets and doing odd jobs but could not make ends meet, the dismissed soldier decided to venture into Internet business.
But he picked the wrong aspect which was to defraud innocent and hapless businessmen that he came into contact with.
He posed to them as an Army officer who just arrived from Borno State where he and others went to fight the lslamist group, Boko Haram.
Ondo State Police Commissioner, CP Udie Adie, confirmed that Onigbinde confessed to defrauding 19 unsuspecting businessmen.
Modus operandi
Adie said the suspect and his alleged accomplice, Aroyeun Oladayo, would pose to their victims as stranded soldiers who just returned from fighting Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State and that, while their victims tried to help them out of their predicament, they ended up being defrauded by the suspects.
They adopted a strategy: complain of not having cash to their victims and collect goods and generate fake electronic money transfer alerts from their phones.
The fake alerts, according to the CP, were evidence to the victims that they had paid for what they collected.

But what the suspects allegedly did was to simply generate the fake alerts on their telephones using compromised banks apps.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard, Ayobami confessed to the internet fraud and the fact that he was booted out of the military.
He said, “I was dismissed from the military because I used fake papers to get admission into training school.
“It was when I wanted to do my passing- out parade that the military intelligence caught me. They detected that I used fake state of origin. I was born in Kwara State. But my state of origin is Osun State.
“I got the apps of the banks. I usually told the people that I am a soldier from Maiduguri who just returned from fighting Boko Haram and that I wanted to do bank transfer.
“I used bank apps. I will send bank alert to the person. It was one of the persons I sent fake bank alert to that tracked my number and I was arrested.
“I made N600, 000 in one month of doing the business of Internet fraud. I went into this business to make ends meet. I was trained to handle gun but decided not to go into armed robbery, take people’s money by force and possibly kill them but this Internet fraud which is less risky”.
‘No regret’
The suspect, who said he had no regret for doing what he did, said after he was kicked out by the military, he had nowhere to go and that he needed to survive.
Explaining how the suspects were apprehended, CP Adie said, “A team of detectives from the Anti-cultism Squad, based in Akure and acting on a tip-off, arrested Ayobami and Oladayo who specialize in defrauding members of the public of their money or goods.
“In perpetrating their act, the duo will present themselves as Army officers and proceed to obtain either goods or money from their unsuspecting victims and generate fake electronic money transfer alerts from their own phones which they would show to the victims as proof that they have paid for what they collected.
“The victims are then deceived to believe that they will soon receive their credit alerts as delays are often due to network problems.
“Upon interrogation, they confessed to have so defrauded one Eze Patrick and 18 others.
“A search of the houses of the suspects, led to the recovery of assorted clothes, Hisense fridge, one Elepaq generator, one Century 5, 000watts stabilizer, two wardrobes, some shoes, some jeans trousers, T-shirts and charms”.
Abduction, rape allegations
Meanwhile, an ex- convict, Tunde Akinboyewa, and a suspected cult member/rapist, Tunde Akinwumi, have been arrested by the police for allegedly belonging to a gang that engaged in abducting and raping of underage girls in Ondo town.
Police sources said the gang’s targets were usually girls aged between 14 and 18.
According to the sources, secondary school girls hanging out in night clubs in Ondo were often targeted by the gang numbering five.
Speaking on the mode of operation, one of the sources said that members of the group would visit night clubs at weekends and make friends with underage girls there and invite them to their homes for the night.
“Once the victims get to their houses, they are prevented from leaving for days and not until all the five suspected gang members had raped them in turns”, the source told Sunday Vanguard.
Akinwumi is aged 20 while Akinboyewa is 25.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard, Akinwumi, however, said that the girls were not kidnapped as alleged by the police.
“We usually visit night clubs where we pick girls, take them home and have fun with them. Many of them oftentimes prefer to stay for days because we usually spoil them”, the suspect said.
“Our targets are usually girls under 20 years”.
CP Adie said that, acting on a tip off, police detectives in Ondo arrested the two suspected cultists/rapists.
He said, “At about 9am, police detectives from the Area Command, Ondo were informed that a group of notorious cultists numbering five abducted some young girls, locked them in the house of one of their members and gang-raped them.
“On receiving this information, policemen from the Area Command stormed the location and arrested two of the suspects identified as Tunde Akinwumi and Tunde Akinboyewa, an ex-convict.
“The victims were rescued from further molestation.
“One ‘UTC’ stainless knife and one red beret cap of a cult group by name ‘PIECE’ were recovered from the house of the suspected gang leader.
“Also, a mobile phone and a jeans jacket stolen from one of their victims, Mr. Farouk, were also recovered.
“The suspects confessed to the crime. We appreciate members of the public for the timely information and support during the operation.
“Effort is on to apprehend other suspects still at large. The arrested suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation”.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old suspected kidnapper, Ibrahim Usman, from Bagudu, Kebbi State was arrested along Mile 49 area of Ore-Lagos Expressway after what police sources described as a shoot out with his alleged gang members who later fled into the bush.
