PhonesDon’t Be Fooled, This Is Not The Upcoming Nokia 3310 (at Least Not Yet) by Geekylady(op): 5:27pm On Feb 17, 2017
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tcTBSIU3eUY/WKbvJVBsc7I/AAAAAAAAAwo/PR1ophltZCI/s2560/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg
Ever since news leaked that Nokia was relaunching the legendary 3310 handset at Mobile World Congress later this month, the Internet has been flooded with tell-tale images of what the phone looks like.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-B4vKh1qRUoI/WKbvgtGzvfI/AAAAAAAAAws/IopJhofgquc/s2560/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg
An online retailer from Kuwait has shared the following image, alleging it to be the upcoming Nokia 3310. The post has gone viral, obviously!

Similarly, there are quite a few Youtube videos have also sprung up, trying to hoodwink expectant consumers into showing what the new Nokia 3310 looks like, what the phone’s expected specs and features are going to be, etc.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Gwh7GYhpe8o/WKbvySH0tLI/AAAAAAAAAw0/50rBHp4FM8k/s2560/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg
As much as the phone render looks cool with a dash of Android built-in, don’t fall for these tricks just yet. There has been no official teaser from Nokia on just what the new 3310 will look like -- no image leaks, no specs or features confirmation. Nothing yet.

Until then, stay vigilant. Don’t believe everything you see!

Chloe Bridgewater wrote Google about her interest in working at the firm

She wanted to work at the firm after seeing the bean-bag chairs and go-karts

CEO Sundar Pichai said that he looks 'forward to receiving' her job application

Some kids want to be astronauts, firefighters or chefs when they grow up – but one little girl has her sights set on one of the biggest tech companies in the world.

Chloe Bridgewater, age 7, sent Google a handwritten letter noting her computer skills and expressing interest in working at a place that provides bean-bag chairs and go-karts for their employees.

The 'Google boss', CEO Sundar Pichai, replied telling Chloe that he looks 'forward to receiving' her job application and encouraged the young girl to follow her dreams.

Chloe, who lives in Hereford, was inspired to write the letter after seeing images of Google offices filled with comfy bean-bags, go-karts and slides.

And the original letter was shared with Matt Weinberger of Business Insider by Chloe's father Andy Bridgewater.

In Chloe's letter, she tells Pichai, who she deems 'Google boss', that she enjoys using computers and plays a game on her tablet where she 'moves a robot up and down'.

She also explained that her dad said if she continues being a good student and get goo grades she will one day have a job at Google – Chloe also noted that she wants to work in a chocolate factory and be an Olympic swimmer.

The Bridgewater's received a response from Pichai earlier this month encouraging the little girl to keep working hard and follow her dreams.

'I'm glad that you like computers and robots, and hope that you continue to learn about technology,' the Google CEO wrote.

'I think if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything you set your mind to – from working at Google to swimming in the Olympics.

'I look forward to receiving your job application when you are finished with school'.

Andy shared the letter on his LinkedIn stating his daughter was 'knocked down' by a car a few years back and the letter had a great impact on her.

'She lost a great deal of confidence after being knocked down by a car a couple of years ago,' he shared in a LinkedIn post.

'However, to say she is delighted after receiving this letter signed by Sundar Pichai himself is an understatement.'

'She is now even more eager to do well at school and work for Google.'

'Can't thank such a busy person enough to take time out to make a little girl's dream become one step closer, although not sure she's fully aware that it'll take more than riding go karts and sleeping in pods to make it with Google!'

Valentine’s Day is finally here and while some of you may already be having a special someone to celebrate it with, there must be some who don't. So if you’re looking to find yourself the perfect partner this Valentine’s Day, our curated list of cool dating apps might just be what you need.

1. Coffee meets Bagel

Designed to help single people meet up, Coffee meets Bagel claims to be different from other dating apps. It utilizes an algorithm to preselect potential matches (called ‘Bagels’) and prioritizes them, showing the ‘Bagels’ that have liked you and are serious about connecting. After the match, the app can connect people via private chat. It even provides icebreaker questions to get conversations started.

2. Happn
Happn is a dating app that helps you discover the people you’ve crossed paths with. Every time you cross paths with someone in real life, their profile shows up on your timeline. You can check out profiles on timeline whenever you want. You’ll also be able to see the number of times you’ve crossed paths with someone, as well as the time and place of your last encounter with them.

3. Sapio

Calling itself as an 'evolution' of dating apps, Sapio connects people on the basis of their intelligence. By its own admission, it is an app that "gets to the core of people through their experiences, heartfelt opinions and bold passions".

It comes with a unique 'Question Explorer' feature, which allows users to discover their perfect matches based on the answers they provide to hundreds of 'thoughtful' questions.

4. Tinder
Arguably the most popular dating app out there, Tinder lets you browse through various profiles by simply swiping over them. You can also verify the authenticity of others present on the app via Facebook. If you swipe ‘right’ on someone’s profile and they also do the same on your profile, Tinder notifies you that it’s a match and you can start chatting with them. You can even set up a date later.

5. Okcupid
Okcupid is meant for people who are pretty serious about finding their soul mate. The app allows you to connect and browse through the matches available nearby, as well as quickly review photos and other details about them. Okcupid requires creating a detailed profile and involves answering different questions. Its free plan has limited features, so choose wisely before starting any conversations.

6. Woo
Another app on our list of Valentine’s Day apps is Woo. It is a matchmaking app that helps you meet the people who have similar interests as yours. The app also lets you check out their detailed profiles. Moreover, you also have the opportunity to reconsider someone if you are not sure about them at the moment. The TagSearch feature can be used to ask/answer interesting questions.

7. Bumble
This is an interesting app for the ladies out there. It asks women to make the first move and find the man of their dreams. Bumble enables women to like and approach the men they like and want to be with. You have 24 hours to message your match, otherwise it disappears. Moreover, you get the chance to get a new connection each day for another 24 hours. Bumble has an interesting feature called VIBee, which gives you a badge that increases your chances of finding your perfect partner.

8. TrulyMadly
TrulyMadly is one of the most talked-about apps when it comes to dating. It does all the heavy lifting and makes finding your perfect partner really easy, using its powerful filters. You can find more matches once they verify themselves via their Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. All you need to do is create your profile and get started.

9. Hot or not
Hot or not is more of an engaging game that’s designed to help you find the hottest people around you. You just need to sign-in via Facebook with some of your good pictures to get started. The app asks you your mobile number, and needs permission to read and send messages from other people. This is done for authentication.

10. Hitch
The last app on our list of Valentine’s Day apps is Hitch. It helps you find people who are present nearby you or are in your social circle. You can discover new people and meet them

Phones4 Reasons Not To Use Whatsapp's Latest Security Feature by Geekylady(op): 12:43pm On Feb 11, 2017
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9HNQZP1LbwY/WJ70FMkyD5I/AAAAAAAAAuI/DTt9CQ5CNss/s2560/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

World's top messaging app WhatsApp has just got another layer of security -- two-step verification. The feature offers another way of authentication of your account via a six-digit passcode and is aimed at deterring people from using other users phone numbers for WhatsApp.

Excited? Can't wait to activate the new security feature in your smartphone? Wait, there’s a ‘flip side’ too. Here are four reasons to stay away from WhatsApp’s new security settings.

1. Danger of Losing WhatsApp Access For 7 days.

Two-step verification requires specifying an email address that can be used to turn it off if you forget the six-digit passcode. But if you forget the passcode without specifying the backup email, you won’t be able to reverify your number on
WhatsApp within 7 days of last using it.

Essentially, this means that you won’t be able to access WhatsApp for seven days.

2. Risk Of Your WhatsApp Account Getting Deleted

If you reverify your number on WhatsApp after 30 days of last using the app, without the passcode, your WhatsApp account will be automatically deleted.

Although a new account will be created automatically once you successfully reverify, there’s still a risk of your account and all your chats getting deleted, unless you regularly back them up.

3. Nagging Reminders To Enter Passcode

If you use the internet regularly, you already know how annoying pop-ups are. And with two-step verification enabled, you may have to deal with something like that in WhatsApp frequently.

That’s because the app will periodically ask you to enter your passcode, thus ‘helping’ you to not forget it. There’s no way to disable this nagging prompt without turning off two-step verification altogether.

4. Potential Security Risk To Your Email ID

As mentioned above, enabling two-step verification requires you to specify a valid email address, which can be used to disable the feature in case you ever forget your passcode.

Although WhatsApp claims that it won’t verify the email to confirm its accuracy, you still the run the risk of having your e-mail address exposed to security threats and possibly unwanted promotional messages.
