Make we go back to regionalism. It’s the way forward. Federalism is a scam to me! Ever since 1999, 95% of senators & Reps did nothing for their constituency other than looting! Many of them don’t even go to their state to know what’s going on. So, what exactly have they been federalizing?

What about the governor’s? Every state allocations have been increased but these state gov are not doing anything. Some state governor’s are even finding it hard to pay salaries..

Make we just go back to regionalism..

Did people notice that a few weeks ago when southerners were screaming 'regionalism', Northern politicians didn't even bother to comment.

That's because any constitutional change will have to go through the Senate and the House of Rep.

Northern representatives are the majority in both Houses. So they'll just wait for Southerners there and vote against any Southern proposal.

The current bad system pays the Northerners. Why will they agree to change it.

You started some truth but you can’t entirely blame the northerners. They didn’t drafted this particular federalism we using today. It was our greedy bloodas from the east that made it to be so. Northerners only observed it seems the constitution would favor them more and they’ve been using it to their advantage since then..

My mom lost her elder brother in that war. He was coming from school on that day and they forced him to join the south east soldiers to defend the Igbo land from the invasion of this old idiots begging for pension and that was the end of him, he never came back from the war.. so I was told.

There must be reasons for the low allocation to the west but the OP may craftily remove that one and post the one most relevant to his bigotry objectives.

The West may have been an area with very little population, and probably produced or sent noting to the federal government. Maybe the 500 they were giving them is just to sustain them. We all knew that most of the resources came from the East and North, the West was just used as an export route to the sea, if not, there wouldn't have been rail tracks passing through the whole region.

The current federal sharing formula which aims to seize resources like gas and oil from the east and south to feed the West and north is favoring the west mainly. Notice how the west panicks each time the east or north talks about secession, they know that as soon as Nigeria end, the west will return to Benin Republic or Burkina Faso levels.

When the colonials masters arrived, they decided and shared allocations based on how developed each region is. The least developed region carried the highest share and the most developed region carried the lowest share..

They found out the yorubas already had a way of life. The doings are well sophisticated and matured! Egba-land used to be our centre for trading & commerce, just exactly what Lagos is today. What of our owanbe? Nah party after party!..

Despite that we do receive the lowest share, we were able to get more things done compare to the rest. And whenever people come over to the west, they don’t ever wanna go back. Nigerians coming to the west and not wanting to go back to their region didn’t start today. It has been a lifetime occurrence and we grew up getting used to it..

Some misinformed people that do say the colonial masters developed the west, hope they re-educate themselves now..

Assuming it is not a skit, I will say that a man doesn't know what God has done for him if he marries a good woman. A bad woman can turn a very good man into a beast, then turn around and cry that she married a beast. The lady sure scored an own goal
