Urgent1Million: Government schools and hospitals are the most affordable. Government collect taxes from the rich and build infrastructure for everyone, especially the poor. Churches collect tithes from the poor and build businesses that only the rich can afford. There's a pastor who owns a school and a hospital in Lagos. One day, a staff of the school collapsed and was rushed to that hospital with the school bus. He spent the night there with basic medicines and they were to book him for an operation. In the morning, they gave him a bill of #130,000 and asked him to pay that one first before they could book him for the surgery. The guy asked his family to take him to another hospital. His colleagues had to contribute money to offset that bill. This happened back in 2022 when things were still not too expensive. This is first hand info because my younger brother works in that school. Oya no vex,pls dnt pay ur tithe anymre, but i'll pay mine tho. |

Urgent1Million: No one is saying a pastor should not be successful. If he's successful before becoming a pastor, great. It means he has a source of income and an inheritance. Even if tithing is a requirement in Christianity, which is not, anyone who has a source of income has no business collecting tithes. I'm not going to include any bible reference because everyone already knows that tithes were instituted to be collected by the Levites who had no inheritance so they can take care of their needs. So why would a pastor gather people, collect their money, establish schools and hospitals that those members cannot even afford, and keep on collecting their money with threats of robbing God blah blah blah!! Isn't that daylight robbery? No its not.Govt own schls nd hospitals pple cnt afford...Nw the pastor must be succesful first, jus too many conditions.Like i said am nt here to advertise any pastor. |

Urgent1Million: Which genuine pastors? Those things they give are actually a little fraction of the profit they make from investing the money they collect form their followers in the name of tithes & offerings. They all have flourishing businesses registered in their name and those businesses are funded with money from the church. They set up hospitals, schools, banks, oil and gas firms, hotels, event centres, shopping malls, estates, name them. ...Im nt here to advertise any Man of God but genuine ones dey, enuf to count sef...so make pastor no get school or be succesful because hes a pastor? This ur angle go bring premium dragging, this i have seen. |

MaxInDHouse: You still don't get it.
David went to God's house were the tithe has been deposited the tithe payers have played their part by bringing it to the house of God so it was inside God's house that David went as a visitor to eat what is found in God's house. But in your own case you're suggesting it should be given to individuals which means it is not to be deposited in God's house as the scriptures said. That's what is wrong with your suggestion ! ..U have a more solid understanding about d theory of tithing than the OP |
