According to a new report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), hate crimes against Muslims, LGBT and blacks are on the rise in the U.S after being on the low for the last 20 years.
The FBI report, releasedon Monday, shows hate crimes against Muslims were up by 67% from 2015 to 2016, crimes against religious groups were up by 23 percent since 2014 while anti-black and LGBT hate incidents were up as well.
In 2015, there were 257 anti-Muslim hate crimes, compared to 154 the year before, the FBI report shows and and the latest report was based on data submitted by 14,997 law enforcement agencies across the nation.
Also included in the report, this was the first year that anti-Arab hate crime was recorded by the FBI as there were 37 incidents and 48 victims.
It was also the first year that crimes against Mormons, Sikhs, Buddhists, Eastern-Orthodox and Jehovah’s witnesses were recorded

It’s unfortunate he had to die this way,” a close relative said. ‘After a month we got the sad news of his death.” The man was called by his community a man well beyond his age whose spiritually was greatly admired. He was known by his family and church members have faith that could “move mountains.” ‘Pastor was a healthy and religious old man who did not even look his age,’ the relative disclosed. The report from the local news network also said that the cleric had no history of medical history. In the Mathew 4:1-11 of the Bible, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness and was tempted by the devil. Jesus overcame the test and survived the fast. The unidentified driver was reportedly crashed
into by Maria Ozawa, an adult actress famous
across Asia for a string of explicit movies.
She had been visiting the Philippines when she
got in a scrape on a busy city road, according to

car asked for a selfie and is seen on camera with a

Police say a Florida man, 49-year-old Joel Jones, allegedly raped a woman and then called 911 to turn himself in. When Police arrived to arrest him, he told them he wanted to go to prison to get even with a man who killed his 14 year old son.
The Palm Beach Post reports that the victim told police that Jones attacked her in August 2014 when she responded to an advert he placed asking for a cleaner for his offices. She said he attacked her and raped her as he was showing her an office building she would clean for him.
She said he let her go after the attack, and she heard him calling 911 as she left.
Jones was sentenced on Thursday to 25 years in prison on a conviction of armed sexual battery.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Jones was convicted for sexual battery and burglary in 1991 and served more than two years of a six-year sentence. He also served almost eight years of a 12 year prison sentence for a second-degree murder, according to department of corrections records.

bricklayer, Demola Wasiu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his friend, Lekan Omotosho, 27. learnt that Wasiu, an indigene of Ede, Osun State, stabbed the Ogun State indigene in the armpit after he refused to charge his phone for him. The victim was said to have lost a lot of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he died on Friday. The suspect, who was arrested by policemen from the Lion Building division, was later transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba. It was gathered that Omotosho was an apprentice in a mechanic workshop on Ajele Street, Lagos Island. He was said to have come to Lagos from Mowe, Ogun State, three months ago. His boss, Olayinka Oyinloye, said he had warned him against his friendship with Wasiu after he was arrested for a crime he knew nothing about. He said, “Just two months ago, the police arrested him while watching over Wasiu’s phone. The problem is that they usually smoke hemp in that place where they charge phones. Throughout the time of his detention, this so called friend did not check on him. “After I got him out on bail, I warned him against the friendship and cautioned him not to allow anybody put him in trouble. “On Thursday, Wasiu came again and asked him to help him charge his phone and watch over it. Lekan (Omotosho) refused. That was how he became angry and started fighting him.” Our correspondent was told that the suspect, who had a bottle of beer in his hand, smashed it on the floor and stabbed Omotosho in the armpit. Oyinloye said, “He fell down and started bleeding. People took him to a hospital, while they held Wasiu to prevent him from escaping. “They took Wasiu to the Lion Building Police Division around 11.30pm. I went to check on Lekan (Omotosho) in the hospital. Around 1am, he died. I went back to the station to report the development to the police. Some of the officers followed me to the hospital to confirm if he was actually dead.” At the SDCI, the suspect begged for forgiveness, saying he never intended to kill Omotosho. He said, “All I want is forgiveness. I did not mean to kill him. He was my friend and I have no reason to kill him. Please help me beg them to give me another chance. I have no father or mother to assist me.” It was learnt that the victim’s parents had arrived from Ogun State to recover the corpse from the police after autopsy. The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Damasus Ozoani, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were ongoing. He said, “Yes, it happened. The suspect, Demola Wasiu, stabbed the victim, Lekan Omotosho, with a broken bottle. He was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. The matter is under investigation.”

An Ikeja magistrate’s Court, weekend, sentenced a 37-year-old man, Ibrahim Abu, to six months imprisonment for touching the Bosom of a 17- year-old girl (names withheld) without her consent. Abu, who lives at 6, Mosque Close, Isheri- Olofin, Lagos State, was arraigned before Magistrate Osusanmi and sentenced last Friday for sexually assaulting the girl Monday last week. Vanguard gathered that the girl was asked by her parents to learn hairdressing, while awaiting the release of her Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SSCE, result. It was learned that at 7:30p.m. last week Monday, while she was returning home, Abu accosted the victim at Baale Bus Stop Akowonjo, and touched her Bosom without seeking her consent. It was gathered that in retaliation, she slapped Abu and he hit her with a plank; she reportedly fell, became unconscious and was rushed to a hospital. Abu was later arrested by policemen attached to Shasha Police Station and the case reported to Domestic, Sexual Violence Response Team, DSVRT. Delivering her judgment, Osusanmi said the offence contravened Section 135 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. Reacting to the judgement, Coordinator of DSVRT, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, said: “While we are pleased with this conviction, this case depicts the current height of impunity with which abusers act. The success of this conviction can be linked to DSVRT’s early engagement with the concerned victim and collaboration with the police, who despite the pleas and pressures from members of the society, ensured that the case was charged to court. “The role of the society in encouraging victims to speak out, protect victims and encourage justice is now crucial more than ever.” Vivour-Adeniyi alsoo disclosed that “the defendant’s name and details have been entered into the Sex Offenders Register. “We, therefore, use this medium to implore members of the society and stakeholders to play their roles in the fight against sexual and gender- based violence.”

According to Somali journalist, Hassan Istiila, the 60-year-old man pictured is among secondary school students sitting for national examinations conducted by the government.

Remembering life in secondary school always makes me nostalgic. Apart from it being the place where I met some of my closest friends till date; a lot of fond memories I hold dearly were made in this place. One of those memories include the crazy stories and myths we were made to believe people before us experienced. Most of these stories were popular in Federal Government Colleges across Nigeria, especially among the boarding students. The versions and names differed from school to school, but the effects were the same. Here are five hilarious ones that will crack you up. 1. Madam/Lady/Miss Koi Koi  Whether she was a madam, lady or miss, this woman’s story always creeped us out. There were many versions of this story, but the most popular was that, she was a ghost who used to torment students she taught in the school before she died. Her ghost wore red stilettos which made the signature koi-koi sound. ‘Na so dem just scam us sha’ 2. Bush Baby  This creature had the body of an animal and had the head of a human. ‘Choiiii, see scam’. The story was that, this creature came around at night and cried like a baby. This is the image of an actual bush baby, but this obviously wasn’t the description they gave us. 3. Lady braiding her hair with her head on her lap  Fine girl by day, headless hair-stylist by night – ‘Na so’ Anyway, the gist was that, the girl in this story wore a different hairstyle every day. According to the story, another girl came out of her dorm after Lights Out one night and saw someone sitting in the corner headless! Apparently, she removed her head from her body, put it on her lap and was making it herself. 4. Black Man(Baba dudu)  This was one of the commonest ones. This so- called Black Man visited girls’ dormitories and the make-shift bathroom during odd hours. Gist was that he rubbed charcoal all over his body so nobody could recognize him, which was why he was called black man. He also added grease on his body, so he could escape if you tried to catch him. Ok this man existed, he was not a spirit but a security guard who came to steal in the dormitory. (At least that’s what he did in my school)
