PoliticsRe: Army Captures Alargano, The Spiritual Base Of Boko Haram by georgeidoni: 11:21am On Mar 30, 2016
A typical Biafra ranting!!!!!!!!

LudaChriz:
[s]They said BH is not holding any territory in Nigeria.., My question: Is Alargano in Syria?

This is the worst govt I had ever seen in the whole universe. A govt that will never for once be truthful to her citizens.

Shame on all APC families[/s]!
BusinessRe: No More Importation Of Petrol Once My Refinery Is Ready- Dangote by georgeidoni: 9:21am On Jan 13, 2016
Somebody like you need serious mental evaluation. Why cant you just see the positive? Must you always be negative? What is wrong with Dangote controlling price of cement. Change your mentality.

Feranchek:
I'm yet to find that non-cleric Nigerian, that gives free of charge

Dangote is planning to control Fuel price same way he controls cement price and makes distributors earn only N20 per bag of his cement sold.

God save us..

BCISLTD:
angry thanks for the clarification. ..but my question is why are the software owners entitled to part of the 1%...shouldn't they just be paid royalty and small maintanace feehuh?
For the sake of clarity, Remita is not just a software but a system. This also apply to Interswitch that get commission for every transaction involving ATM, POS and online payments in Nigeria. To you, these transactions might be free, but you are definitely paying indirectly through your bank. Every payment solution providers collect this same commission like when you pay for your drivers licence, international passport, WAEC, NECO and others.
PoliticsRe: Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Confirmed As A Minister by georgeidoni: 9:00pm On Oct 29, 2015
What a man soweth so shall he reap. PDP elected Saraki Senate President without APC senators; and today, APC senators confirmed Amaechi Minister without the PDP.
PoliticsRe: Controversial Flyover Barrier Demolished In Ibadan by georgeidoni: 2:28pm On Sep 23, 2013
I totally agree with your analysis. We have a lot of uniformed minds here who just want to be say something, even if they can not substantiate the their argument with any known fact.
nuclearboy: Most of the criticism on this thread is pitiful!

I remember that when the idea of this bridge was first mooted, the question in most educated minds was that of compensation - everyone knew it would help the traffic situation which was horrid but we pondered how much would go towards compensating the owners of buildings etc!

The other issue was drainage which was on its own possibly a 300 million Naira project (those who truly know mokola wonder where all d floods of the past have permanently disappeared to)!

Concerning vehicle height restrictions, I just wonder at the mental state of many posters here - this bridge has one turn and it is sharp! Driving a SUV (was in a hurry) first time I used it, I pondered what would happen if one was too fast! Now if I wondered with a SUV, I can just imagine one of our larger trucks or box vans driven by a drunk or inexperienced hitting d walls or plummeting down onto traffic below! To avoid such, they are restricted (not because of weight or bridge strength) and have 2 perfectly usable ground level lanes! So what's the noise about?

Way I see it, compensations (to owners of buildings), a drainage system that runs quite a distance, service roads, widening the hitherto existing roads and the cost of the project ALL went into the 2.3 billion (not 3 billion being bandied about)! As someone pointed out, the existing Lagos-Ibadan express will cost 1.3 billion per kilometer without bridges and practically NO compensation required (Mokola is a business district and land/property cost is at a premium)!

Nobody is perfect but this administration is doing very well!
PoliticsRe: Controversial Flyover Barrier Demolished In Ibadan by georgeidoni: 4:08pm On Aug 21, 2013
dammytosh: That is the problem with ACN and their supporters.

Having lived over 20 years of my life in Ibadan and Mokola environs, I still maintain that COMPARED to the pressing needs in the state, the Fly Over bridge is the most useless project any reasonable Government should embark on, looking at the number of ammenities and basic things the state lacks.

When I saw LCC as the project executor, I now understand that this is the only way Ajimobi is desperate to pay back Tinubu for all the money spent to win the election.

All this useless projects for all to see will take the state no where but make them broke and forever indebted to Tinubu's empire.

So what is the purpose of that barrier after celebrating the commisioning of the bridge, I guess they are waiting to commision the opening of the barrier as a separate project. Bunch of mediocres.

What do you expect in a country where PDP is the main party, Fellow mediocres and morons will stand out.

- My Opinion.
If you have lived that long in Ibadan, you should appreciate the need for a flyover bridge at Mokola Roundabout. What is the situation of traffic at that same roundabout when ever it rains when the traffic police are not around to control the traffic? its always a gridlock, as motorist from the four directions always struggle over right of way. What if the N3b has been stolen with nothing to show? What are Alao Akala and Rasheed Ladoja's legacies in Oyo state? Height barriers are commonplace worldwide; and the one placed on the Mokola flyover is not an indication that the bridge is substandard. I can understand all the hullabaloo. This is the first public flyover bridge in Ibadan, the other being the one that connect the Government House road with the Secretariat.
AutosBenefits Of Maintaining The Right Tyre Pressure For Your Car by georgeidoni(op): 1:19pm On Jul 22, 2013
Do you know that NOT maintaining the right Tyre pressure has a lot of negative effect on your car? The average Nigerian Vulcanizer has the mentality that the Tyre pressure must be gauged at 40 psi which is absolutely wrong. The recommended tyre pressure for your car is expressly indicated on the sticker pasted at the driver side door post. It ranges between 28 - 35 psi for sedan, crossovers and SUVs. Over inflating your tyres above the recommended pressure eliminate the shock absorbing and dampening capability of the tyres and allow vibrations to be transferred from the road straight to the body of the car; as the shock absorber will not be able to handle the excess shock and vibration from the road. This will damage the suspension system. Other effect of over-inflation of tyres includes compromising your ability to control the car at high speed as the tyres will be bouncing; possible blow-out (as there will be no room for expansion) and outright damage to the tyres, as the lack of space for expansion will cause bumps to form at the sides.
Under-inflation on the other hand will cause a drag on the car and constitute an extra load. The vehicle management system (Brain-Box) would have to overcome this extra load by pumping more fuel to the engine. This will lead to increased fuel consumption and higher wear and tear for the tyres.
Always ensure that your tyres has the recommended pressure (as indicated on the sticker at the driver door post) and only use vulcanisers with the right tyre gauge for accuracy.

Have you forgotten she has being driving around town in a fully-loaded Rav 4 she won at the MTN project fame? One can only expect that she aim higher. She is absolutely on point.
Car TalkRe: Benefits Of Using Coolants Versus Water In Car Radiators. by georgeidoni: 5:48pm On Jul 15, 2013
LeJeun3: Unfortunately, his mechanic could be right. When cars r designed for Temperate regions like Nigeria, certain things r taken into consideration. So a car wit a single cell radiator will do well in a place like russia or uk, however would experience difficulties in Nigeria. I've had a radiator change and it totally solved my overheating problem.
Note: like someone said above a 50/50 mixture would do just fine. (a can of coolant to a full radiator).
Somebody should please tell somebody that coolant do not solve overheating problem. Coolant (the antifreeze - the pink colored one) used in temperate region where temperature goes below 0 degree Celsius ensures that the coolant do not turn to ice block inside the radiator and engine as the case with ordinary water which freezes at zero degree Celsius. The other coolant - Anti-rust (the green one) ensures that the metal parts of your engine and the radiator are not corroded by inhibiting the metals from rusting. It also serves to lubricate the water pump and free it from seizing, that may arise from corrosion. If the engine is over heating, look for the cause. It might be blown head gasket, corroded radiator due to rust, stuck closed thermostat, leaking radiator, leaking cooling system hose and bad radiator cap. Kitomania: Hey pls I need an advise my mechanic want to remove termostart for Mazda I wana know if there problem to remove it...
Dont allow him. Your problem with the car will start the day he removes it. Mind you, engine are not meant to be too cold for optimal efficiency. The thermostat (a thermal controlled "barrier"wink ensures that coolant do not circulate when the engine need to warm up and only opens up for the coolant to start flowing when the engine has warmed-up. If by any chance your car is over heating, check for the cause and fix it.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Multichoice And Their Fraud Called Gotv by georgeidoni(op): 4:58pm On May 13, 2013
yoddy: Dude, verify before you make accusations. I am a GOTV subscriber and haven't experienced what you highlighted. Infact, my favorite channels are SET, CNN n Blitz. You might want to rescan your decoder for the channels.
I am very certain of my information. The highlighted stations are no longer accessible to a lot of people right now. I am sure its just a matter of time before yours will be off-the-air too. Visit the gotvafrica website to view the channel lineup. you will see that CNN, Blitz, SET, Nageowild, and others are no longer in the lineup. They only used those channels to lure people into subscribing, now they have got them, they can do what ever they like. I will definitely dump their service like a piece of shit. Without those channels, there is nothing attractive about gotv
Satellite TV TechnologyMultichoice And Their Fraud Called Gotv by georgeidoni(op): 4:55pm On May 12, 2013
I am sure members of the forum that are subscribed to GOTV will notice lately that some channels - CNN, Blitz, SET, Africa Magic and others are no longer available on their bouquet since last week. It is now categorically clear that multichoice has permanently removed these channels from GOTV subscribers after deceiving and luring them with these channels. A visit to the GOTV website confirmed this. Although no statement was made on the withdrawal of these channels, the channel list speaks otherwise. This is fraud in the highest order and should be condemned. Say no to multichoice and their fraud called GOTV!!!!
