AdviserGeneral: That System Specs returned the money does not make the deduction illegal. They (System Specs) have already written to the President - I do hope you know - stating their sides of the story and requesting the President to assist in ensuring remittance according to the contractual agreement. The Company's action of returning the money shows that they are not willing to resort to self help or to go through litigation if it can be avoided. I think they have shown good faith with regards to that but mark my words, should the Federal Government refuse to pay that 1% commission that has accrued (the #8.6 Billion) then we should expect that Systems Specs will approach the Law Courts to legally enforce their contractual rights and that may come with interest charges on delayed payments as well and then we would all know the meaning of illegality. Cheers! |

BCISLTD:For the sake of clarity, Remita is not just a software but a system. This also apply to Interswitch that get commission for every transaction involving ATM, POS and online payments in Nigeria. To you, these transactions might be free, but you are definitely paying indirectly through your bank. Every payment solution providers collect this same commission like when you pay for your drivers licence, international passport, WAEC, NECO and others. |

obailala: The reverse is the case my friend. APC is not defending, APC is passing the buck. APC should simply cooperate with the Senate. They should carry these evidence to the Senate and explain their own side. It is the Senate that is investigating this apparent non-appropriated deductions from Nigeria's account. APC spent the better part of its opposition years conjuring figures, some as imaginary as it could be. Together with its friends in some government agencies then, APC brought out outrageous figures on things like petroleum subsidy, "missing" $49.8b from NNPC etc. The past government did not try to cover up. They set-up investigative panels. The Senate and the House of Representatives also did same. Government officials obeyed the summons. Both the accused the and the accusers met face to face. Some people were arrested and charged to court where necessary. The NNPC "missing" money is still a mystery even with Buhari as the president. Serious governments don't pass the buck like APC is doing currently. Running a government is a serious business; than motor park discussion where people are ask to go to elementary school as if that would make people stop asking questions. Questions have been raised at the Senate sitting. The senators were unanimous in their desire to get to the root of the matter. APC government should cooperate with them. Who signed the documents and every other issues should be addressed at that level. Is smack of fraudulent cover-up tactics to attempt to smear your way out of a "fraud" like this. Jonathan's government signed TSA, ok. Jonathan's government was not in-charge of arbitrary deductions of Nigeria money by private companies. Even if it is N1, Nigerians must ask questions. If Buhari and his friends are not "stealing" N25B daily, who is? Why did they call for refund of N8.6B from Systemspec? If Systemspecs' own share of the deal is 50% who gets the other share? Who are the commercial banks? Let APC government unveil the TSA deal(s) in the interest of transparency. Remove all ambiguity. If you can celebrate the success of your "New Muhammadu in town", you should be matured enough to acknowledge Muhammadu's shortcomings. |

teepain: My point is not majorly on the contract but the alarm that was raised by Senator Melaye, which is very good for the country. Though he might not have gotten the figures right, but he took the right part by bringing it to the fore for Nigerians to know what is going on. Those calling him out as a saboteur is not being fair to the country because all we need at this point are whistle blowers who will bring any government wrong doing to the public domain. I dont see him as antagonizing President Buharii. Afterall, Dino did same against PDP when he was still their member. He is a well known whistle blower |

Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Regime Signed TSA Agreement With 1% Fee - Minister by porka: 1:54pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
georgeidoni: Those are private transactions. Public transactions add a little volatility to its operations because of the political risks. And even at the level of private, there are various alternative platforms customers can explore, which make the cost competitive. On ATM, you don't begin to pay "charges" until the fourth withdrawal for instance. WAEC, NECO etc are not everyday transactions. POS have a cash-back initiative, where you get back some money for using your debit card to a certain level in a month. The last administration introduced online printing of NYSC call-up letters for a fee (the N4000 was/is clearly outrageous, and was rightly condemned at the time), but you could also get your call-up the traditional way if you don't want to print online. AND THEN we were told that this TSA arrangement would block leakages and save costs. Why is it incurring this HUGE COST now? |

porka:Before you go on and on screaming with your bold letters, may I remind you that this FG has never for once objected to the NASS or the efcc pr whoever it is investigating the TSA contract, nobody is stopping anybody from investigating anything so quit wailing with you large fonts over the issue. The APC has only responded to a silly allegation by some slow brains that Buhari and his friends were stealing N25billion daily. Ordinarily there wouldnt have been a need to respond to such drunk ramblings, but for the sake of genuine Nigerians out there that may be gullible to fall for it, it was necessary to clarify. And in the process of clarifying the facts, it would be inevitable to mention the fact that the contract was even arranged by the past administration. So what buck passing are you exactly yapping about? By the way, regarding the present government's shortcomings, for the mere fact that the FG has put a hold on the payments, asked the contractor to refund the monies collected so far and also invited the parties involved back to the negotiation table, that is a clear sign of a responsible government acknowledging an oversight and quickly doing the needful to get things done right.... If it was the last administration, I can bet my life that instead of urgently doing the needful like is being done now, GEJ and his crew would have been crying about the issues being politically motivated. |

OBAGADAFFI: They are all crooks who supported the looting of Nigeria by their President (GEJ) and members. The Buhari government will make mistakes but its sincerity and political will cannot be doubted. Nigerians never focus on the right things. The question to ask is why the GEJ and his Party failed to activate or use the TSA nearly 2 years after signing the final agreement for its implementation in Dec 2013 yet Buhari has put the account into use within 5 months of being in power. To discerning Nigerians, it is obvious PDP is loathe to do anything that will prevent it looting Nigeria whereas Buhari is in a hurry to block all Avenues being used to loot Nigeria and deprive ordinary Nigerians the tools of development they need. Everything that can make Nigeria better and improve the lot of the average Nigerian, the PDP and its President are always hesitant and totally unwilling to do yet Metuh will open his dishonest gob to be maligning a government that has shown a readiness to put practices and policies in place that will help Nigeria develop. Abeg Nigerians, who is fooling who? 2 Likes |

Gbawe: Why would Dino not rush to 5-junction to proclaim his 'patriotism' when his calculated earnings from performing oversight functions on the TSA is being jeopardized. His perpetual stay in the NASS and affluent life style is obviously sustained with protection money paid by MDAs. It is like the game played by Popto Holo in Hardly Chase's novel 'Like a hole in the head' |
