So it is Tinubu that will articulate government's policy going forward, answer the questions of past performance and make solid comitments about the future of Nigeria based on facts and stats.... na waoh... Dear professional nairalanders, I would like your advice on this issue on behalf of a friend.

Last year, my friend was employed to render professional services to an oil company through a third party. I connected him to the job. He works as an NDT professional and the main contractor and third party are based in Lagos.
He was issued an employment letter that stated he would be paid monthly. Initially, the agreement was honored, but later, payment became erratic. He is now owed 800k for the past 6 months. The company does not reply emails and pays in dribbles as they like. At the rate they are paying, they will complete payment in a year. This is clearly not acceptable. The fellow has many responsibilities to shoulder.
The contractor and third party no longer work together and this is given as reason for delay. This should not be my friends problem : he had an agreement with the third party to pay him not the main contractor. They do not deny that. The third party that engaged my friend is a big and solvent company still doing business.

How can he efficiently collect his money ?

Upon going through the numerous comments made by students in Twitter and nairaland, I can confidently say that Nigerian students exhibit low capacity for reasoning.

1. INEC does not need ASUU to conduct elections. It's participation is not enshrined in law. ASUU was chosen by Atahiru Jega in 2010 because he identified them as a large body of educated individuals who could be relied upon to execute this important national assignment with accountability.

2. If ASUU decides not to participate in the general elections ad-hoc staff with dubious credentials and partisan leanings will be employed instead and an opportunity will be created for electoral rigging. We can already see attempts by the government to influence the outcome of the 2019 elections. A rigged election will set Nigeria back 20 years

3. By participating in the elections ASUU can ensure that stipends accrue to its members and the struggle for better conditions in our universities may be prolonged further.

Participating in the elections is the way to go.
