grin grin grin

When people come up with those scenarios on a basic topic, I just know they have been cornered. So if a man says he wants a wife that can cook, does it mean he doesn't know she can lose her hands? Nonsense analogy.

They will learn...

It isn't about men not owning up to their responsibility

It is about marrying someone and accepting the good and the bad

If a woman should leave a man when he can no longer provide, should a man leave a woman when she can no longer have sex?

What happens when the woman is hospitalised for months for breast cancer, should he take a second wife?

Everything is not black and white.

Are you praying to have severe injury or dementia or not being able to work?

It's funny how you can imagine the worst when the thread is about owning up to your responsibility.

Nobody prays for the worst but these things happen

I have two family friends and their wives did the rubbish you posted here.

One of them was a medical doctor who became commissioner of health in Imo State. He had dementia and spinal injury, yet his wife would rather go and do her daily hustle than accompany him to the hospital.

Learn from the mistake of others and pray not to be a victim.

Where's the lie in her post?

As a man it is your responsibility to take care of your woman, if you can't you have no business with marriage.

So, what happens when the man has a severe injury or dementia and can no longer work.

Should the woman run away?

Good morning folks, i lost my 5ers $1 account last night which boss DXYY got me in December last year. I am fully responsible for my faults and action, and I am very sad that not only did I let myself down but I also let down boss DXYY and boss infofirst. @boss DXYY, I still want to appreciate you for giving me the opportunity, it was my first prop account. I simply bleeped up because I was deeply in drawdown, and then I started pyramiding into my trades with the hope of getting out of draw down fast. simply put i wasn't disciplined in my money management. And lately I have been in a serious dilemma, getting into a trade isn't and issue for but getting out has become more of a problem for me due to greed, this has become more of a problem has lately all and I mean all my winning trades end up as losing trades and it's affecting my psych, on Tues, I had a profitable trade on US30 which went down 300 pips, I was so confident that when priced pull back I added another short position which I wanted to swing and hold up till CPI yesterday because I was sure CPI was going to come in strong when I woke up yesterday morning to check the trade not only did it reversed, it my stoploss on both trades. I am having problem setting realistic targets for trades and I think it's all becos of my greed.

@Boss gabsonfx, peteregwu, kaybee, and all other traders here, please how do you guys tackle indiscipline in your trading, pls I in all honesty need your help

Sorry about this bro.

It can only be a loss if you don't learn anything from it.

For a solution, go live. Even if it's cent acct.
Fund it and fail more. One thing will stick by the end of this experiment.

And it will be something that came to you on your own pace cos at the end of everything, it all boils down to you and your trading system.

Fta no go dy dere. My own 2cents

Follow the advise by rhynoemmie, but I'll suggest you trade sth different. Try synthetics or some weird fx pairs like Hk50 for example.

You'll notice that most of your strategies will fail there, this will give you the freedom to discard what is not working and focus on what is working.

Secondly, for the issue of acct management...

You said sth about pyramiding and how it blew your acct

Your desperation is because you don't know money management. If you knew mm, you would be calm because there is a clear plan to exit drawdown and even if you fail, you'd know that you tried your best in that situation.

If you need more details, tag me on telegram in the grp or personally, and I 'll expand more on this .

If you are kind and good nobody will kick you out of your home.

Be a kind person, it's very simple.

It is the other way around

If you're kind and good, they will use you like wrapper

My uncle's wife was collecting his salary as a nurse whilst he was in the USA. Forging his signature to take money from the joint acct and still had the mind to chase him out of the house.

He could have gotten back the house but he took no action because he is a nice man.

The Reason why he could have gotten the house is this:

At the time of the marriage, both of them had their papers sorted out in USA. He did traditional marriage with the lady in Nigeria but in the official records in USA, she is married to her brother. She did this so that he could migrate to the USA.

Never ever be nice, be realistic.

This is my major grouse I have with modern women - they enjoyed their prime with different men admiring them, offering them gifts and privileges etc. Modern women enjoyed so much attention and gifts while in their prime. After soaking up these enjoyments, they sought husbands who out-earn them. No one should mention that kini kon women also earn money. Yes, modern women earn money, but hypergamy is still there, and they seek for men who out-earn them. They never go lower. Always higher. Fine, no problem with that. That is how women are everywhere in the world.

When men want to enjoy their prime, modern day women revolt and accuse them of cheating?! Cheating?! But when you had admirers flocking around you and taking you in cars, did anyone complain? Why seek to restrict a man, especially well-to-do men, from exercising his options? You had yours and enjoyed it, allow him to enjoys his. Life na turn by turn. If he decides not to exercise his options, fine and good.

A man who has worked so hard, it is worse for black men as opportunities are fewer, should enjoy the fruits of his labour. Women who are pissed off with cheating have three options:

- Marry a woman
- Remain single for life
- Marry a much poorer man.

Modern day women cannot aim to marry a financially comfortable man, yet keep them all to themselves. There is love in sharing. Also, they
should understand the effects of testosterone and what it means for men who have money. Testosterone is a hormone, not a mo.ron. Let's not forget that married women institute sex timetable for their husbands. Na why I wan sponsor a research to find out if sexually active married men have more or equal sexual intercourse with their wives at the same rate as sexually active bachelors.

P.S. Where a man who has concubines goes wrong: his wife was a virgin before marriage, and he does not provide for the family.

Even where a woman marries a woman, cheating is possible

Her best bet is to buy a dog and leave humans alone.

So, what do men want?

If men cheats, they will always blamed the wife.
If there are cases of domestic violence, they will blamed the wife.
If she did not get pregnant on time, they will blamed his wife.
If her child possesses bad attitude, they will blamed the wife.
If after marriage things fell apart, they will blamed the wife.
If she becomes more successful than her husband after marriage, they will always blamed the wife.

After going through his ex-wife page and reading the comments, I can only deduce that the African society doesn't respect women enough. So my fellow gender, never accepts less. If it won't work, walk away. Your man can't be fooling himself around and you will be at home taking the blames. Please, your mental health is important. Mind you, I don't support divorce but if it doesn't worth it, walka

Looking at these women, I don't see a flaw abi na beauty or good physique they no get.

Men, what do you want?
What can a wife do to stop her husband from cheating?

Nothing ...

Every man with resources has the inclination to cheat

If you want undying loyalty, you'll be better off marrying a poor man

And even then, there is a chance he may still cheat

Las las, buy a dog and marry him- that's your best chance of getting someone who won't cheat on you.

The government needs to find a way to step in to help.

Either we also flood the market with multiple Nigeria airlines flying that route so they too can gang up, or government find a way to support Airpeace one way or the other.

I’m sure when these foreign airline success and Airpeace run out of capacity to deliver, they will increase the price back and we go back to square one.

Nothing is new

Nigerian businesses use the same tactics on newcomers

Try importing stockfish and selling at a lower price

They will send people to buy your stock on credit with no intention of paying you back.

After your stock is exhausted, and capital drained, you will have no choice than to be humble and run away or join their cartel.

You'll need a court order and need to visit your bank to do anything about it.

You may choose to report the transaction as one made in error and ask bank to reverse it then try to get an order for PND (post no debit) to be placed on the seller's acct.

You didn't talk about the good side of it...I have a thread here on Nairaland where I talked about pros and cons of increasing MPR. Perhaps, MPR has been increased to 24.75 in the latest MPC held last month.

I didn't mention it because the chances of that happening are minimal

However, if interest rate is reduced from that 24.75% by 300 or 400 basis points, that means the policies are working and prices of goods will substantially reduce

That would be a miracle- the type no Nigerian who is 50 yrs or younger has seen.

Another way to look at this could be that CBN trying to increase FX inflow.

—Normally when you have cash reserve in $$ as an individual and you want to execute a project in Nigeria, you should have sent it as inflow and convert it to naira and etc.

—But some people got the $$, and instead of inflow, they keep their dollars assets, approach bank and get naira loan backed by that, so they just retain their dollars and put more pressure on the naira.

—Now you won’t be able to do that. Either use your asset in Nigeria as collateral (if you have), or send that $$ you’re keeping abroad back home for that thing you’re tryna do.

Now people can argue that it could cause distortion as those set of people won’t have incentive to get loan again and it might kill business and productivity. But I’m sure CBN have studied the merits and demerits of both arm.

The opinion about business and productitvity is valid

Until CBN reduces interest rates in their monthly meetings, no sensible Nigerian should rejoice at the change in exchange rate

If I borrow at 22% to manufacture, I have to sell at a higher margin to break even compared to the China guy borrowing at 3-4%

An increase in interest rate also affects the borrower's repayment plan to the banks.

My take is this :

Nigerians should Wait till next CBN 's monetary policy committee(MPC) meeting on May 20, 2024

If they announce another increase in basis points or interest rate from that 22% , expect more manufacturers and companies to shut down and this could lead to increase in prices of goods regardless of whatever the dollar is selling for.

Lesson 2: Change the way you speak and your mentality

Once you understand why you can never make money from gambling unless you do the needful, the next thing to do is to delete some words you use in your vocabulary

Delete the word 'should' completely from your dictionary

Understand this:

Before you complain of the problems causing you to gamble, think of the people who don't have food to eat or those who are homeless in Nigeria or the disabled guy you see everyday on your street?

Your problems are not bigger than these people.

So, stop complaining and using words like I should be a millionaire if i played this game, or If only this had happened or it is a long journey ahead

All these words , 'should', 'if'. 'long journey' - these are all defeatist words which will serve you no purpose

You cannot change the past no matter how long you think about it. Thinking too much about it will only give you depression.

Focus only on maximising the opportunity in front of you each day. Anything else is a waste of mental energy.
Investment / How To Stop Gambling Addiction? by Geovanni412(m): 9:02pm On Apr 07
In this harsh economic climate, money drainers must be removed from your life

And the biggest money drainer is gambling (bet9ja and the other platforms)

Before we discuss how to stop gambling addiction, you need to understand why you gamble and why it is so difficult to make money from it

The reason for gambling for most people is because they want to make money and become a respected man in their society

Whilst this is a good reason, what they fail to understand is they lack a statistical edge to consistently win in the market

This ability to run a profitable betting acct can only happen if you are an advanced mathematician like Tony Bloom or have advanced memory skills to memorise cards for games like Blackjack

If you lack these tools, you can never be a successful gambler. Understand this lesson

First off, my knowledge on fundamentals is very basic so I may not be able to answer your question appropriately. The naira appreciation against the dollar is simply because of FGN intervention and not off economic conditions or stimulus. The funny thing is that Nigeria CBN is a tool and puppet of the FGN, they have no power of their own. Judging based off the economic data and conditions of Nigeria, the naira is very much weaker than the dollar and should be in a far more worse condition. The Nigerian economy despite being the largest economy has a very weak labour market due to high unemployment rate and low jobs creation which is definitely affecting the labour participation rate of the country. I read through the article you posted and I gleam that the bigger portion of the labour participants are mostly business owners or self employed people. Also inflation seems to be rallying up in the economy especially food and transportation inflation with the CBN having no clear plan on how they intend to fight inflation, Nigeria production and manufacturing sector is in shambles and a whole lot of other factors which economically speaking should have greatly devalue the naira. But the FGN intervene by floating the naira and then restricted foreign reserve to the citizens (the cancellation of international transaction on all naira ATM cards is one good example of it). you can't go to the bank to get dollar now as it has been cancelled or restricted from citizens. this definitely lead to rise of P2P transactions on most crypto exchanges that give access to a semblance of foreign reserve at black market rates (why I say a semblance is because usdt is not USD neither is it owned by the federal reserve bank of America despite it being pegged and having almost the same value as the dollar) and with the continuous woes of the economy, this definitely leads to the demand for dollar as a save haven to hedge against naira devaluation. The fight against bureau de change and the blockage of the naira trading on some crypto exchanges by the FGN is what is supporting the naira and not real economic conditions. There are certain countries in which their government can interfere or manipulate their economy or the value of their currencies from the depreciating further, I'll use china as a case study, at the start of the year the Chinese Stock market was falling due to a bubble that happen in the Chinese real estate market (The Evergrand housing market crash) this lead to outflows of foreign investment from china leading to serious bear trend in the Chinese Stock market and the fall of the yuan against the dollar, towards the end of January, the Chinese government intervened by ordering the PBOC bank which is the Chinese central bank to hike interest rates by a 25 basis points and then also stopped the selling of shares in the Chinese Stock market, investors could only buy shares but could not sell them if they wanted to. Because of that the yuan momentarily rallied against the dollar before it continued it's bearish trend. Look at USDJPY, the BOJ have been warning of a manual intervention on the yen if USDJPY goes beyond 152. and when you compare the economies of the US, China and Japan, you would see that the US economy is much more stronger than the other economies hence the strength in dollar. So my humble submit on the naira appreciation against the dollar is simply because of FGN intervention and not based of economic stimulus...

Well spoken, chief

point of correction..

the Naira is not rising against the Dollar..

the Naira is only now moving towards it's actual true value.

the falling Naira we witnessed these previous months was as a result of forex speculators and dollar hoarders, not because of bad economic policy..

so in cutting down the wings of speculators by closing down binance, it's only a matter of time for Naira to find it's actual value..

Very well,

What happens now that Dangote refinery comes into full operation ?

Will it's activity be enough to counteract all the negative indices on unemployment and interest rate, leading to an actual increase in value of the naira?

I disagree with you sir, there's a fundamental explanation to this sir. are you aware that central banks around the world have been aggressively buying gold in large quantities for reasons best known to them, but some say they are hedging theirselves before the interest rate cutting cycle begin which will definitely devalue their respective currencies, while others say due to major geopolitical risk which can lead to a third world war in the coming months i.e the middle east tension and majorly the China Taiwan conflict. I am no peddler of conspiracy theory and I know this might not make sense to you and you may not agree with what I have put here, but simply put the central banks around the world are the ones manipulating the Gold market. And I have come to see how powerful the central banks are in the financial markets, no one can corner or manipulate this markets except for the central banks. If you don't agree with that then I respectively ask you why will all financial asset go haywire when Jerome Powell speaks at an FOMC meeting. I am yet to see any big bank or financial entity that can cause the level of catastrophy in the financial markets like the central banks... just my humble opinion sir.

Considering your knowledge of fundamentals, in your opinion,

What is the reason behind the rise in value of the naira against the dollar?

Exactly what I'm saying. The easiest approach should be in the mid- to long-term. The period you mentioned is only a week.

You need to understand that most traders in this forum utilise 10-30 pips as stop loss

These are not mid to long term traders

Mid to long term is where you are using 100 pips -200 pips as stop loss, if we are 150 here, maybe 1 or 2 people have that as their system

Do you understand the reality now?

The two pairs you mentioned correlate positively and only increases your risk if you take same trade (bias) on both.
Your portfolio should contain pairs or assets which have negative or no correlation.

eg DXY (Dollar Index) and Gold correlate negatively.

When the Dollar gets weak, due to fear, the big boys such as Institutions, etc invest in gold to keep their money safe.
In times of uncertainty eg war, natural disasters, pandemics, investors would also tend to buy gold in order to reduce risk exposure.

With News releases which show the US economy is improving eg the NFP release today, the USD (DXY) will be favoured (bought), while Gold will stall or be sold off.
For a retail trader, you need to know the mid- to long-term effects of these news, economy, etc then marry it with Technicals (notably Price Action). Best in the mid- to long-term; Higher Time Frames, then scale down to Lower Time Frames for safer entries and minimal drawdowns.

If DXY is favoured, it's best to select a second currency which is fundamentally weaker than the Dollar such as the JPY, as price movements in favour of the Dollar would be stronger and more sustained. Anything which causes the Dollar to be relatively weak compared to the JPY is already an indicator that Gold would be the asset of interest by big investors.

A pair such as the GBP/USD comprises two strong currencies; except high impact events in favour of one against the other occurs, basically this kind of asset show limited price movements.

Go and look at eurusd and xauusd chart from Mar 27- April 4

How many days did both of them move in the same direction?

Correlation doesn't work the way you think, chief.

If it was that easy, everybody would be a day trader rather than a swing trader or position trader.

If trading many pairs is giving you headache and no profit

Maybe it is not for you, I have tried both ways (trading 1 pair per acct) and trading multiple pairs

And this is my observation,

Anytime I am trading two pairs say eurusd and xauusd, my mind will always make me want to take the same trade on both pairs

It's either i go long on both pairs or I go short on both pairs

I found it difficult to think of both pairs as independent entitities.

So, for someone like me, it is better for my sanity to trade one pair (eurusd) alone and not bother with correlation but rather focus on using appropriate stop loss for the acct and proper timing management.
