Education / The Dearth Of Education In Nigerian Universities by GESE: 8:16pm On May 17, 2008
In order to fully understand my pain on the subject matter we all need to examine the meaning of the word Education and Literacy.

To do this effectively we would have to suspend our preconcieved notions, release the 'prisoners' we have captured in our hearts and imagination, and resist the strong temptation to capture new ones, until we have objectively re-examined the prose vis-a-vis the pre-existing situation and present situation of the educational sector of our beloved country.

As we are all aware from the various offering of the dictionary that literacy is the ability to read, write and by extension carryout basic reasoning computations.

Education on the other hand by advance definition is the combination of formal and informal tutorage, indoctrination, inculcation that gives an indepth understading of various subject matters which results in the ability to discover, manage, control and improve upon the vast resources available to us in our natural environment for the benefits of all. These resources need not be materialistic but can also be of culture and behavioural elements peculiar to he subject environment or its people.

Education is what a Government owes its people to help them help themselves as well as others around them. But what do we have today?

Graduates with no jobs, the chase after holographic images of immense wealth by all means etc

what do we think is the way forward?
How do we encourage those in school to look deeper than just passing their papers?

We need a revolution,
Politics / The Power Behind The Throne by GESE: 7:36pm On May 17, 2008
Have ever pondered over the possibility for the same set of men to have continuosly dominate the axis of Power in this country?

Why hasn't the opposition, despite severalcoup attempts, a civil war, an annulled election, and several rallies of civil disobidience, been able to put a stop to this perpetuation of power in the hands of a few? Why hasn't the local intellectual community- so revered for its doggedness and creative acumen- been able to figure out a way of dislodging this power establishment? And indeed why, in a nation of such consumately educated people, hasn't a university graduate ever ruled the nation in all its 48 year history? (Actual rlers: Balewa; Ironsi; Gowon; Murtala; Obasanjo; Shagari; Buhari; Babangida; Abacha; Abdulsalami; Obasanjo; Yaradua),

let us delebrate and see the twist maybe, just maybe we can start a revolution,

Iphone classic? Don't make me laugh.

Even if you're in a haste to propagate Apple rumours, i'd expect you'd at least start with the 3G iphone which is definitely coming out.

Speak for yourself.

you know what cut the crap, You saw the pix of the sneak it's most probably true. Because you have your mind set on the road map doesn't make any difference. these people are pure business men that will stop at nothing to get consumers on the run for their products.

Did you hear about the queues for the iphone weeks before its release? don't try their marketing techniques, it is a possibility 3G or not! who says that even if the 3g comes out it will by compulsion look like the old iphone?

anything can happen, the guy is just trying to share an internal secret, so appreciate it and give it benefit of doubt, he couldn't have designed the stuff himself unless your computer doesn't have the capability to view pictures, all indication shows that these items are Apple designs and are likely to be displayed for the market soonest!

Let's be proactive.

Thanks AGES for the sneak, keep us informed as we will have our eyes peeled too for updates.
