My former landlord was one of the nicest men I know. My current Yoruba neighbour is my G. He lost his brother recently and if not for distance and the dnsgers of Nigerian roads, I and the other neighbours would've attended the funeral in Ogun State.

It's stupid the way we allow these politicians divide us based on tribe. And it's foolish that we don't know the elites are doing this because they know how powerful the masses can be.

Look at what happened during EndSARS. People were protesting about the high-handedness of the police force and the politicians used ethnicism to break the whole thing apart.

Lack of stable property rights is a big problem in Nigeria. This is something I talk about a lot when I find myself discussing Nigeria issues. By law, when you take it to the basic law, NOBODY owns land in Nigeria, it's all property of the Government. I can count a dozen people I know whose lands and houses in Nigeria have been taken by government or credibly disputed.

The funny thing is how almost no one cares about the issue including victims. It's really strange, even a friend who is currently suffering this issue in Port Harcourt says it's no big deal. I don't get it

The distress in Nigerian Government finances means a lot of this sort of thing will be happening in the near future.

If you work hard to buy or accumulate wealth and that wealth can be easily threatened or taken at any time, the tendency is for people to stop working hard or investing in ways that produce wealth. This is one of the major reasons Nigeria is very poor. The country has a socialist culture.

I hope there will be reforms in law and mindset so that cases like this become bitter memories of the past.

in saner climes, it cost alot for medical student to be trained ranging from about 150million - 200Million naira to become a doctor, this foreign doctors owe student debts their entire life. In nigeria it cost only about less than N500,000 in a public institution with no debts. This cheap education is subsidized by tax payers fund, only for this medical students to complete studing for close to free medical courses in nigeria, their next motive is travelling abroad. this is unfair to the scope of nation building, the stand of the HORs isnt perfect, but its a right step in a right direction for the long run.
