Some of the IDUs have this option where you select maximum/long range transmission, which does what the name says but ultimately consumes more power. You should check to see if you can find that.

Some also have the option of turning off the 2.4Ghz. Check if this too and turn it on if off. That way you can try to get your pc to connect to 2.4Ghz, which covers longer distance.

What settings does the IDU/ODU need in just using the default setting installer did nothing changed and im using the ZLT W154R IDU ,would appreciate if theres anything i can do to increase d signal strenght

In any case, what I can understand from your explanation is that you are probably using only 5GHz, which travels only short distances. You should start by telling us your ODU/IDU pair and the settings you're using.

I would have advised you downgrade the wifi driver in your laptop but since you can see the wifi when the laptop is close to the IDU, I believe the driver is good.

Boss abeg did you find a fix to the poor wifi signal, my odu connects well with recent device model but for some phone or laptop of few years back ,it wont see the wifi except im close to the IDU . And this is for selected device .pls any way to improve the network signal, ive updated my laptop driver to the latest ,whenever i go in my room away from where i have the IDU my laptop wont see the signal at all.

It's the positioning of the ODU that matters. The IDU positioning matters only in terms of wifi signal reception.

The ODU is the main device.

For ZTE, an app exists to guide the positioning.

Not an android tv , i want to use the airtel android box ,But i think i got the fix thanks. Just have to buy the usb to lan adaptor .

My android box is the airtel android box ,it confirmed the connection but its not browsing

When I was using TIZETI after some while of not subscribing ,they came to take there device,I guess most of them do that in Nigeria here

Non ODU subscription is working well and i still have people closer using the HBB 30k sub ,the speed is normal .it feels like its only me against the world.

Switching to physical sim is not the issue,I got my ODU first of December last year, switched to physical sim a couple of days later and it’s been blazing ever since except for a glitch I experienced this month of which I was compensated with extra seven days, and I sub directly from myairtel app without issues, I remember someone here complained about an issue similar to yours and he was using an E-SIM , so you see,

If you have another airtel sim or you know someone that uses airtel, check to see if it’s a general issue in your area or it’s only peculiar to your ODU

Yes theres a airtel customer care line ,deduct airtime but faster response

I guess switching from esim to physical Sim was the start of my issue.Firstly my old subscription was active when I did the switch so when the sub end and I was trying to do another ,after loading airtime on the Sim card it took little less than 48hrs before they were able to activate it . I was spamming them with calls ,they first took the credit off the line without it browsing it took another 4 hrs before I got a msg the subscription its active . But the first 4 days was ,good speed blazing 50Mbps stable until few min before Arsenal vs Man u .

5th day of max 1mbps , cant stream 480p its buffering .my subscription is less than 10 days old .MTN Fibre just went live for my Area ,guess I will port, the amount of credit ive used in calling airtel is alarming

thanks to everyone that suggested the 4G , but im still getting 1Mbps max. Called them twice they said they will rectify under 72hrs .Wanted to say maybe its cos I swapped to physical Sim thats the cause but ive used the physical Sim more than a week and it was blazing ,it just started all of a sudden
