Suspected herdsmen have allegedly abducted 15 passengers in a bus in Imo State, while four other passengers were kidnapped by gunmen also suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Ogun state.

The Imo incident allegedly happened on Arondizuogu-Okigwe Express Road at about 8am on Thursday, June 10. Eyewitnesses claim the suspected Fulani herdsmen believed to be harbouring around Eke-Onuimo, in Onuimo Local Government Area of the State, jumped out from the bush and attacked the bus fully loaded with passengers and whisked them into the bush in the area.

The herdsmen also allegedly stopped another commercial vehicle and abducted three passengers from it and left the others to go.

The state police command is yet to confirm or deny the report.

In a related development, four passengers riding in a car on the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road were allegedly kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Thursday morning, June 10. An eyewitness, who escaped with a bullet wound, said the incident occurred around 8:25am. The four victims, he said, were taken into the forest.

He, however, stated that he saw operatives of Amotekun Corps who rushed to the scene on getting information about the incident, adding that they went into the forest with a view to rescuing the abducted persons.

“I was driving towards Ijebu Ode when Fulani herdsmen, numbering eight, suddenly came out from the bush and started shooting at us. Immediately, I slowed down to reverse, but another car was already behind me. While trying to drive away and escape, I was shot in the hand. But, we managed to flee the scene with my car riddled with bullets.

But, the occupants of the car behind me were not lucky as they were rounded up by the herdsmen. They were five in number, but four of them were abducted. They spared one elderly man, who is visually impaired.''the eyewitness said

According to the tweet, the incident occurred on 3rd June 2021.

The 1:29-second amateur video, copyrighted ‘Wisdom Blog’ shows two young men who sighted the strange helicopter in the bush walking toward it with their mobile phones.

In the video, the men could be heard saying in Yoruba, “let’s move closer,” as they snuck up to the helicopter that just landed some meters away, to get a clear view on their mobile camera.

Another voice was heard saying, “I have captured it,” as they moved closer still.

On getting closer to the helicopter they shouted, “Back-up! Back-up! We need back-up! 2212!”

“I need more security! NN 313,” he called out, trying to read out the licensed number on the helicopter

Police in Nansana, Uganda have arrested 44 people for organizing and attending a same sex traditional marriage.

Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyesigyire, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, May 31, said police received a tip off about a group of men suspected to be homosexuals conducting a wedding in 780 zone, Ochen ward in Nansana municipality.

"Immediately a team of police officers proceeded to the scene and a group of 38 adult males and 6 females were found conducting a ceremony at around 1pm that looked to be a wedding. All the men had make up and some were dressed as female in dresses and wigs,”Owoyesigyire stated.

"At the same functions gifts were recovered, these included suitcases, a tv, assorted gifts like sugar, salt, pineapples and many other gifts normally given at traditional functions.” he added.

The Kampala police spokesperson used that used and unused condoms were recovered at the scene whereas the suspects were not observing Covid SOPs like social distancing and wearing of masks.

He noted that they were arrested and detained at police.

The Criminal Investigations Divisions spokesperson, Charles Twine later said the group would be charged for doing a negligent act likely to spread an infectious disease.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with the Department State Service (DSS) and local hunters have successfully rescued 14 victims kidnapped at Gauraka area of Niger State during a joint operation at Byhazin-Bwari axis in FCT Abuja.

The Joint Operation led by the FCT command’s anti-kidnapping squad combed the forest, engaged in a fierce gun duel with suspected kidnappers, dislodged them and arrested two kidnap suspects while others escaped with bullet wounds.

FCT PRO, ASP Yusuf Mariam, said exhibits recovered from the kidnappers’ den are two AK-47 magazines and cooking utensils.

According to her, “the victims who appeared frail after several days in captivity are currently receiving medical attention at the Police medical facility.

“In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police CP. Bala Ciroma wishes to reassure FCT residents of the Command’s undeterred resolve towards the protection of lives and property within the FCT , through continuous partnership with sister security agencies and key community stakeholders.

Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanemere Odumejeje was filmed lifting the monstrance containing the blessed sacrament during a "Catholic church" event in Delta state and this has angered Catholics.

In the video, a man dressed like a Catholic priest, with an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary on his chasuble, is seen blessing the blessed sacrament before Odumejeje lifts it up, an act that is considered sacred in the Catholic Church and can only be performed by an ordained priest, no exceptions.
