It was the best decision by their sales/marketing department to stop SMS votes, which were applicable in earlier seasons. The bulk of the money and fan/stan investment to ensure that their favorite housemates win went to telecom companies.

The current voting structure ensures that fans subscribe to premium plans just to vote better (even though they may not derive much value from the premium channels). Money contributed by fans for housemates goes into the purchase of Multichoice's hardware products, like decoders, so that they can deliver votes in the thousands instead of the meager 200 website votes.

Investment in Multichoice's products by a housemate and their wealthy fans can now take them to the final, although it may not guarantee winning the grand prize. It's not uncommon to find housemates who are rarely talked about escaping the bottom spot, while those who top trends are evicted.

The final top 8 means thousands of new decoders purchased in September with contributions from dedicated fan clubs, and an increase in active subscribers among existing users.

BBN will not take a break; they’ll return next year unless Multichoice finds another cash cow.

On launch day, ebuka called out all the sponsors of the season, the thing choke.
Big brother productions is a very criminal organisation. They never reveal their balance sheet or that statement of profit and loss. The public never knows how much they make or how they make it.
They make a whole lot of money, last week wetin? U see they go on advert break on top of the hour, every hour throughout the duration of the programme. And during primetime like eviction show, they go on advert breaks like 4 times in an hour (those ones pay more).
People were claiming that they do much money using sms voting, but they have stopped sms voting for quite some time, yet they are moving.
Big brother production is just like Catholic church and others, just look and pass.

The whole show started really slow and the engagement seemed poor but picked up at later stage

Like I said you people did not watch this show, it’s all bragging points for you. You say we should give them props? What props? All the housemates literally clocked they were dating or there was something between them. They asked them and they lied, how can anyone make you tell the truth? If someone like Shawn & Victoria came out and said oh we’re or were secretly married, then props to them, nobody in the house would have seen that coming. You meet two strangers who obviously seem to be in a relationship, you ask them and they keep denying it, you’ll move on because really what’s your business?
