PoliticsThe Truth Government Refuse To Tell You About MMM Founder, Sergey Mavrodi by Gistarena(op): 5:16pm On Nov 16, 2016
Sergey Mavrodi: The Founder of MMM
So many lies have been told about the founder of the world life saving scheme, known as MMM, the Russian government termed him a convicted criminal just to soil the good work he is doing that the government could not do for her people.

Sergey Mavrodi is a founder and leader of the MMM Social Financial Community. MMM is sure to be his life-work, but not the only one. Sergei Mavrodi, having a degree in mathematics, worked as a programmer and took part in the development of the first operating systems. The company he founded was one of leading computer equipment distributors in Russia. He was a Deputy of the Russian Parliament. His literary works were published and they are sold in book stores. Two of his screenplays were made into movies. His poems were turned into songs.
Youth
Sergey was born in 1955, in Moscow in a simple Soviet “middle class” family – of a worker and an economist. From his father, of Ukrainian and Greek origin, was left a memorable surname – Mavrodi. Since high school the young man showed great talent in the exact sciences was the winner of numerous physical and mathematical Olympiads, sometimes even led lessons on behalf of his teachers.
After school he entered the Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering at the Department of Applied Mathematics, from which he graduated in 1978 with the specialization “artificial intelligence”.
Whilst in the Institute he got interested in Sambo (Russian martial art) and having a weight of 60kg became the champion in Moscow in the Open category. However, this was the end of the professional sports career as further growth demanded too much time.
Upon graduation Mavrodi worked for some time as a programmer, but then he resigned and started a simple business – trade of the audio and video recordings.

MMM-94
In 1989 Mavrodi founded the corporative society “MMM”, based on which then he created a few dozen of other commercial structures. The corporative society, in particular, was engaged in computer supplying, which were only at their starting point of accessing the market’s daily turnover. In 1992, the brand became universally recognizable after Mavrodi offered, several times, to all the residents of Moscow a day of free of charge travel in Metro (Moscow subway).

Since February 1994, the joint-stock company "MMM" began to issue tickets and sell them through an extensive chain of offices throughout the country. In MMM offices people were able to buy tickets and sell already bought tickets. The price which MMM bought and sold tickets for grew two times per month. It means that anyone, who had bought MMM tickets, could sell the MMM in a month for the double price and make a profit. MMM commercials were regularly on central TV channels. It caused a public excitement in the society. These tickets were not securities. There were no promises that the prices of the tickets MMM would be doubled during a month. Therefore, MMM actions were hardly a classic Ponzi scheme. Sergei Mavrodi didn’t deceive anybody and did not say that money was invested in high-yield business projects.
Sergei Mavrodi planned to spend the money, accumulated in MMM, on purchasing companies to be privatized. And then he wanted to distribute these companies ' shares among MMM tickets holders. Then in Russia, shareholders would not have been a handful of super-rich oligarchs, but dozens of ordinary citizens.

Mavrodi explained his motivation: “In Russia there was a ‘privatization’. And if we call a spade a spade – a total deception and robbery of defenseless population who doesn’t understand anything.” But MMM lasted only six months – a period during which the number of participants reached, according to various estimates, 10-15 million, the total amount of deposits – a third of the national budget, the price of shares, designated on a “discretionary decision” at the rate of 100% per month, increased 127 times. In the summer of 1994, the government stopped the work of the joint stock company "MMM". Those, who had MMM tickets, couldn't sell them back to MMM. Sergei Mavrodi was charged with tax evasion. He was arrested afterwards.
Why didn’t the police prohibit selling and buying MMM tickets MMM at the beginning? Why had they been waiting for six months? Probably, the police realized that they had no reason to interfere. From a legal point of view, it was impossible to claim MMM: people simply bought and sold MMM tickets, they were not investments. But then six months later, when over 10 million Russians had become ticket holders, the state regarded MMM as a serious competitor and decided to destroy it at any cost. And the state had not even considered what dire consequences those who had bought MMM tickets would suffer from. “The system did not collapse at all. It was artificially destroyed at the peak of its development,” said Mavrodi. During police probe the witnesses told about 17 trucks in which, secret service forces had taken cash from MMM’s office.

Member of Parliament
In the prison Mavrodi started collecting signatures for registering as a candidate for the State Duma (Parliament) of the Russian Federation. After two months was signed in and released. Thanks to the high rating, on October 30, 1994 he was elected and became a Member of Parliament. During his election campaign Mavrodi did not keep as a secret that he goes to State Duma solely for the sake of the parliamentary immunity, and since elected as a deputy, was not present at any of its meetings. Mavrodi also refused to get a salary and use all benefits provided to the deputies.
The state needed a pretext for expelling Mavrodi from the State Duma. He was charged with taking part in business activities. And according to the Russian Constitution, Members of Parliament do not have the right to conduct business. A year later, October 6, 1995, the State Duma terminated his parliamentary powers ahead expiry.

The arrest and trial
After the revocation of Sergei Mavrodi’s parliamentary mandate, the investigations against him were restarted, additionally to the existing cases there has been added one more – fraud. He was added into the Russian and then in the international wanted list. More than 5 years he was hiding in a rented apartment on a street, near to his home.
In 2003 Mavrodi was arrested. According to the prosecutors, the damage done by MMM to millions of depositors was estimated at $110 million. But the accusation stated that the funds were spent solely on the MMM’s development: payments, advertising, staff salaries, opening new offices, etc. For himself Mavrodi didn’t spend almost anything – didn’t buy yachts, palaces, planes, etc.
The investigation lasted 3.5 years, another year was the court. On April 28, 2007 the Chertanovo district court sentenced Sergey Mavrodi to 4.5 years in general regime penal colony. Mavrodi was found guilty under article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud). As mitigating circumstances, the court took into account that the founder of MMM had not previously been convicted and had a child to support. The court didn’t take into account that MMM had not given any promise of rising cost of tickets and that MMM had not signed any contracts with buyers of tickets. And, moreover, the court didn’t not consider social problems that "MMM" had wanted to solve by issuing tickets.

Literary Activity
After his discharge from prison, Mavrodi got engaged into writing activities. In 2008, was released his book “The Temptation” (other name – “Son of Lucifer”), written by him in prison. The book consists of more than 100 short stories; each describes one of the human vices. Sergei Mavrodi is the author of many philosophical, love and civil poems. Some of them are turned into songs.
On the basis of the history of the MMM-94 was shot a movie “PiraMMMida.” Sergey Mavrodi wrote the screenplay for this movie and Universal Picture was engaged in its rental.

Revival of MMM
In February 2011 Sergey Mavrodi revived MMM. This is not a company, not an organization, but a community of people. Mavrodi took account of mistakes made in 1994. Money is not kept in one place. Now in MMM there is, in principle, no money - all the money is only on participants’ accounts. MMM just connects those who want to give and receive help.
In the spring of 2011 financial analysts and experts stated that people wouldn’t transfer money, if they were not guaranteed that they would make a profit. But MMM was successfully launched. And now, for more than 4 years, the Community has been successfully developing. Now MMM unites several million participants from different countries of the world.

Sergey Mavrodi’s Quotes

“The cowardice has lots of names. I do not fear nobody’s and no types of calls. You shouldn’t be afraid at all, of anyone or anything. A feeling of fear humiliates. You lose yourself.”

“You can betray only that who trusts you. The worst sin – betrayal!”

“Everything has its melting point. Friendship, loyalty, love, honor… Everything! And may God protect you from confirming this terrible truth in practice, on people close to you. And there are abysses where one better not look into. Since there’s nothing else but betrayal, lies, dirt and meanness.”

“If they treat you unfairly, humiliate you, abuse your honor and dignity – fight! By all the available means and methods, without regard to anything and without looking back. Defend it, your honor! At any price. Any!! They used to duel for the honor. If you are silent and let them treat you like a dumb animal, a slave, what are you complaining about? Slaves don’t have honor”.

“The truth is the most improbable thing in the world. It’s almost always charmless and unpleasant. It’s only the lie that is nice, beautiful and elegant”.

“When everything is available you don’t want anything. There’s nothing there, on the top, there’s vacuum. But in order to understand it – you need to visit it. So I visited it and got to know”.

“Any promise is from evil. Every time there’s something hided, embroidered, understated. The key points are always highlighted in a certain way… And this is so common and ordinary that is widely perceived by everyone as a norm. But it’s not a norm at all – it’s a deceit in any way. And deceiving is not good. So I don’t deceive anyone and in anything!”

“Yes, people are wicked. But you should be kind!”

“Our world is not as bad, hard-hearted and mercantile as many people perceive it. Is not redeemable. And people around are not so bad. Evil has not won yet once and for all. And fighting against it is possible and necessary!!”

“The world is bad? So, make it better!”

BusinessA Challenge To Examine The Evidence Against Mmm – An Open Response To Sec & Cbn by Gistarena(op): 12:47pm On Sep 19, 2016
In the news recently Securities & Exchange Commission in pursuance of their statutory duties issued a well-intentioned but I dare say misinformed warning to the general public about MMM being a Ponzi scheme and most recently making the news rounds is the purported report of the warning of Central Bank of Nigeria against the activities of MMM which was penned by one Obinna Chima of ThisDay newspaper on the 14th September 2016 edition.
First as an aside, the CBN never issued a categorical statement against MMM. In fact, the quoted statement of its acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Isaac Okoroafor never referred to MMM. The only mention of MMM was the subjective and unsubstantiated opinion of ThisDay newspaper’s reporter. CBN’s warning was against “wonder banks” and “deposit money institution” in other words CBN was warning against patronizing institutions that physically seek deposit of funds in a central account (or any account subject to their control) on the promise of high yield interest rates nothing more ( Here is the link to the original report at
http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/09/14/cbn-warns-nigerians-against-investing-in-wonder-banks/ for you to read it for clarity). Consequently, I will not burn intellectual fuel in analysing the ostensible false warning attributed to CBN.
Now to the SEC warning. As a legal practitioner of many years standing and as a prudent ordinary citizen like any other reasonably informed person my curiosity was pricked by SEC’s warning against MMM and that has led me to seek to understand the facts that will aid a reasonable conclusion. In my view the pertinent questions begging for answers are Who or what is MMM? Why are its activities illegal? And the what are the evidence proffered by SEC to support their allegation and disclaimer? Permit me I shall proceed in the manner of my training to examine the relevant facts.
To arrive at a just determination of the issues raised it is pertinent to examine the statement of SEC and their supporting evidence or proof of culpability and then deconstruct the activities of MMM to see if it is guilty as charged.
I will quote SEC’s statement:
“The attention of SEC, Nigeria has been drawn to the activities of an online investment scheme tagged ‘MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria (nigeria.). The platform has embarked on an aggressive online media
campaign to lure the investing public to participate in what it called ‘mutual aid financial network’ with a monthly investment return of 30 percent.
“The commission hereby notifies the investing public that the operation of this investment scheme has no tangible business model hence it’s a Ponzi Scheme, where returns are paid from other people’s invested sum. Also, its operation is not registered by the Commission.
“The general public is hereby advised to distance themselves from this online scheme. Please note that anyone that subscribe to this illegal activity does so at his/her own risk.” (underlining mine for emphasis)
What is noteworthy is that MMM the subject is described as an online investment scheme, a mutual aid financial network which promises a monthly investment return of 30 percent. Note the reason SEC declares it illegal is that the unlicensed online investment scheme has not tangible business model hence it is a Ponzi scheme where returns are paid from other people’s investment. First it important to state that a monthly return of 30 percent on an investment is not illegal. So what makes the activities of MMM illegal under SEC’s regulatory purview? Simple. It is operating an unlicensed investment scheme with no tangible business model. So the question is, is MMM an investment scheme subject to registration with SEC? only an examination of the activities of MMM can reveal the answer so let’s examine MMM.
MMM describes itself as a voluntary union or association of persons voluntarily providing financial aid or donating their spare money to one another with no obligation on the receiver’s part to pay back. Participation in the community does not give rise to a lender and borrower obligation. As an incentive to encourage the “voluntary giving or donation” the community rewards the giver with a 1 percent daily interest which accumulates or grows for 30 days hence the promise of 30% return. MMM operates no central structure or bank account to collect money. In fact, money is never paid to MMM, participating members directly pay the money to one another. MMM merely provides the platform and rules for such engagement and gets nothing in return because it is an ideologically based “people movement” organization which leverages on the power of freewill community giving as a gateway to financial freedom from the established financial institutions which propensity is to favour only the rich.
Of significant note is that MMM clearly and explicitly warn participants on its site to only participate with their spare money (money they can afford to lose) as they stand the risk of losing all. and that there are no guarantees whatsoever as no member is under the obligation to repay any donation and MMM fully
discloses that the expected 30 percent reward for donations is gotten from old satisfied members who continue to give or donate and also from the donations of new members joining the community nothing else. It states clearly that there no investment or any relationship with the capital market, no goods or products to sell, no obligation to refer or bring anyone to join and no requirement to make any number of donation. Nothing, just people giving each other money with no guarantees. SEC’s charge that MMM pays returns “from other people’s invested sum” with respect is ignorant and stems from a lack of understanding the workings of MMM. No participant is under any illusion as to how the 30 percent is obtained. It is from participants. Take it or leave it.
I will now address the pertinent issues sequentially as they arose in SEC’s statement.
First, it is important to note that the word “investment” has a technical meaning apart from the everyday ordinary meaning. Though under Investments & Securities Act 2007 the term “investment” was never defined the Second Schedule, Section 304 of the Investments & Securities Act 2007 however it stipulated broad categories and registrable activities like shares, stock, bonds, government and public securities etc. that constitute investment business in Nigeria. On the allegation of operating an “online investment scheme” I do not see how any of the activities of MMM which is essentially freewill giving described above fit under any of the categories or activities under the Second Schedule of Investments & Securities Act 2007. I must say no matter how broadly interpreted this section cannot co-opt or designate “freewill or voluntary donation or giving” as an investment. It will be most absurd and illogical. For academic postulation sake, assuming without conceding the least that MMM activities can be described as an investment under Investments & Securities Act 2007 it is even doubtful if SEC’s has the powers to regulate an “online investment scheme” whose computer server or origin is based outside Nigeria. It will be a legal nightmare and a complex watery grave of conflict of laws to navigate even for the best legal team.
Secondly, on the charge that its operation is not registered by SEC, I must say that SEC lacks the power to registered or regulated online investment schemes. However, MMM as a voluntary association of whatever complexion whether as a mutual aid society or a social network of financial aid (call it whatever you like) is guaranteed the freedom of association under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) thus the requirement to register with Sec is non-sequitur, it’s a none starter. It is irrelevant where MMM engages in a non-regulated activity like voluntary donation among members. Members of MMM also have the freedom and indeed the right to own and dispose of their
property which include their money in whatever manner they deem fit. This is a right to private property guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution (as amended). And to the best of my knowledge it is not illegal under Nigerian Law to give or make a donation of your money to a charitable cause or to any cause not explicitly declared illegal and you don’t need a license for that, thus it will be futile to label the freewill giving in MMM illegal.
Thirdly, on the charge of MMM being a Ponzi scheme, let juxtapose the features of a Ponzi scheme and the activities of MMM. A Ponzi scheme in essence is a clever investment scheme which lure people to invest in a supposedly legitimate business with a promises a high yield interest rate for the investment. In a Ponzi scheme the scam artiste relies on the inflow of cash to its central account from new members to satisfy old members and to maintain a façade of prosperity in order to continue entice new members. This in the long run is unsustainable and he disappear with the cash leaving people broken. Note that in a Ponzi scheme members trust and give their money to “investment guru” to make them more money from opaque transactions. In all instances of Ponzi schemes there is a central account where money is paid to (show me one that does not have a central account?). This makes it easy for the scam artiste to bail with the money of members. In MMM members are told clearly that there is no investment or any relationship with the capital market, no goods or products to sell, no business to invest in, no obligation to refer or bring anyone to join MMM. Nothing, just people giving each other money with no guarantees. There is no central account to pay money to. Members directly share their money with each other. Members understand that money is gotten from but old and new members donating. Nothing more. Nothing less. What can be more transparent? Member of MMM knowingly and willingly accept he associated risks of their participation. Now I ask how is this a Ponzi scheme? It is not. Yes, MMM defies logic but that does not make it a Ponzi scheme. If it is, SEC failed to provide the damming proof. A mere wishy-washy warning statement does not cut it for a serious minded regulatory agency like SEC.
Another important consideration is who is complaining? It is hard not to notice the comments online which typifies the wave of support MMM enjoys from millions of Nigerians who are benefitting from it.
SEC’s perception of the organization is fundamentally flawed as it erroneously describes MMM as an investment which it is not. The activities of MMM described above does not fit under any of the categories or activities under the Second Schedule of Investments & Securities Act 2007. I vaguely suspect SEC never carried out any proper investigation of the activities of MMM before rushing out a warning statement. It must have been manipulated by some
overbearing interests whose jobs are being threatened by the ideology of MMM which is catching on like wildfire.
I know that in this discourse only time and superior proof can be the final arbiter but before then SEC don’t sell me your baseless accusations on the platter of your reputation. I am a man of full intellect. Take it from me MMM is not a scam. It is a revolution. I stand to be counted me as a member.

PoliticsGarba Shehu Responded To Alleged £6 Million President Buhari's Ear Treatment by Gistarena(op): 11:06pm On Sep 18, 2016
In Response to Prof. Farooq Kperogi Over Alleged £6 Million President Buhari's Ear Treatment By Garba Shehu

The disclosure on Prof. Farooq Kperogi's wall that President Muhammadu Buhari's ear treatment in the United Kingdom cost a whopping six million pounds must have shocked many of the respected scholar's followers.

The story reads like an incredible tale by moonlight that belongs to a different era, which fortunately is now history. That's when a fortunate lady saved USD15 million for medical treatment!

But was it possible that the account of this balanced journalism teacher was hacked?

I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Given the austere president we have, Muhammadu Buhari would not have approved this amount if he was shown a six million Pounds bill. I won't be surprised if the President may have asked if the fat bill was for the purchase of a brand new pair of ears!

I'm prepared to share documents with Farooq, one of the brightest ever produced from the Bayero University Kano (BUK) that the whole treatment, including a follow-up visit by a specialist to Nigeria didn't cost 50,000 pounds.

For the records, the administration advanced a higher sum, but the President's doctor returned the balance to the treasury.

Indeed, it's a New Day, and President Buhari's change mantra is real. Let no one confuse my fellow countrymen and women.

Crime25 Year Old Man Committed Suicide, After A Quarrel With His Mother Over Money by Gistarena(op): 11:42pm On Sep 11, 2016
It was a tragic day for the residence of Ejikoyejo Street in Pako Aguda Surulere, Lagos State, when a boy of about 25 years old took his own life after engaging in a quarrel with his mother.

Eyewitness account have it that on the 11th of September 2016, the young man by name Ismaila had a quarrel with his aged mother, it was gathered that during the quarrel, ismaila demanded for a certain amount of money from his mother to travel to Calabar, where he learnt automobile work, of which it was learnt that his mother told him that she has only N4,000 left with her and the young man went inside and locked himself inside.

Trouble busted when his friends came calling him and there was no response, as they discovered that he has locked himself inside his room, only for them to see his lifeless body dangling from the ceiling fan through the window, where he had already hung himself, by the time he was brought down, he had already given up the ghost.

As at the time of filing this report, it was still unknown to what must have led him to commit suicide, people are still wondering why a young man should hang himself just like that.

His body has since deposited to the mortuary

PoliticsChief Achike Udenwa Release A Statement On The Alleged Re Arrest By EFCC by Gistarena(op): 9:37pm On Aug 18, 2016
Our attention has been drawn to the report in several media, both electronic and print alleging that His Excellency Chief Achike Udenwa was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission(EFCC) on the grounds that he failed to keep to his bail condition by failing to report to the Commission when required to do so.

We may not have responded to this but for the numerous enquiries from the media and other members of the public. Also the above reason is very grave and portrays His Excellency as unreliable and may have other sinister motive for not reporting when needed to do so and puts his guarantor in jeopardy.

By a letter dated 13th May 2016 , His Excellency applied and obtained permission to travel abroad for medical treatment. Consequent upon this, the Commission released his International Passport which the Commission has been keeping.

The Commission scheduled his next visit to be13th August 2016. This date was agreed by both parties, not realising that it was a Saturday, a non working day by the Commission. On return , he contacted the officer in charge and agreed a new date of Thursday 18th August. Surprisingly, on Tuesday 16th August, His Excellency, while in Pot Harcourt for the PDP convention, got a call from his guarantor, that he was urgently required to report to EFCC Lagos office by 10am on Wednesday 17th August, the day of the PDP convention and a day before his scheduled reporting day.

He obliged. On reporting, he met another officer, whom he was directed to see. She immediately confronted His Excellency with the fact that he has deliberately and consistently refused to honour invitations and could no longer be reached. This was shocking, as all my dealings with the Commission should be in the file.

This was his fifth visit to the Lagos office and there has been no case of failure to report on appointed date.

This action appears premeditated, following the sequence of events and the speed with which the press was informed.

Meanwhile, His Excellency had been put off the PDP convention. However, the whole episode ended late the same evening. It is important to state categorically that His Excellency has no reason to fail to report to the commission when required to do so as this case is about the money for the Presidential election as it concerned all the states of the federation and not Imo state alone.

As the PDP Presidential election coordinator in Imo state His Excellency and some others involved, have explained the details of the expenditure in the exercise as far as Imo state is concerned. His Excellency therefore has nothing to hide.

PoliticsEFCC Detains Imo State Ex-governor Achike Udenwa Over N350 Million Campaign Fund by Gistarena(op): 8:42pm On Aug 17, 2016
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today re - arrested the former governor of Imo State Achike Udenwa in connection with alleged campaign scandal at the last presidential election.

Udenwa as a State Co-ordinator for The Presidential Campaign Organisation in Imo State was said to have collected the sum of
N350,000,000 (Three Hundred and Fifty Million Naira Only) from the former senator representing Kaduna South and Director of Finance for the PDP presidential campaign organisation, Nenadi Usman.

The suspect, in his statement to the Commission admitted receiving the money via Diamond Bank account No.0058805692 and 005950791 respectively on the 14th and 28th of January 2015 in three separate instalments. He added that the money came from a company named Joint Trust Dimension Limited. This same company was charged alongside Mrs

Nenadi Usman and the Media Director of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani Kayode before Federal High Court Lagos on a similar allegation.

Investigation however revealed that Achike Udenwa and one Viola Onwuliri, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Minister for Education, who was his deputy at the Presidential Campaign Organization were the two signatories to the Diamond Bank account that received the money.

Upon his arrest, Udenwa was immediately granted administrative bail by the commission with condition that he should be reporting to the

commission at an appointed time. But while enjoying his administrative bail, Udenwa chose to deliberately skip reporting, thereby compelling the commission to revoke his administrative bail pending his arraignment soon.

Achike Udenwa was a governor of Imo State under the flagship of People’s Democratic Party between 1999 and 2007 and became a minister

of Commerce and Industry between 2008 and 2010 under Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The Economic Impotance Of Aisha Buhari's Trip To The USA; Trust Is Social Capital By Ugo Chikezie

And if you don't have it, no one will feel comfortable doing business with you.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't want to over-flog the issue of Mrs Buhari's visit to the United States, but I want us to look at the bigger picture, so we can understand the economic importance of Mrs Buhari's visit to the US. because these people who WAIL daily seem to know their RIGHTS more than their WRONGS.

President Buhari is fighting corruption, Governor Ayo Fayose and a group of professional haters accused him that his anti-corruption fight is a charade, claiming that corruption is right in his bedroom. They even said he jettisoned the Halliburton case because his wife is involved. They dared Mrs Buhari to go to the USA if she is truly innocent. The career haters continued their cacophony daily. Now she visits the US, and the same people who were accusing her daily have suddenly changed the narratives claiming it's a non issue and it does not help our economy...... Chaiii.... WHEN WILL NIGERIANS REALIZE THAT HYPOCRISY IS NOT A VIRTUEhuh

1. Don't they know the implication of such accusation on our economyhuh

2. Don't they know that a dent in President Buhari's image will have more negative effect on the economyhuh

3. Dont they know that TRUST IS SOCIAL CAPITAL and If you don't have it, no one will feel comfortable doing business with youhuh

4. Don't they know that her visit to the US will save the country the cost of litigation? Pursuing courts cases in Nigeria is very expensive and Aisha just saved us that with her visit to the US.

5. Don't they know that their accusation on Aisha Buhari is serious DE-MARKETING of our economyhuh?

6. Don't they know that her visit to the US will further enhance her credibility and make her business partners trust her much more?

7. Don't they know she is an international business woman and her tax and that of her staff contributes to our GDP?

8. Don't they know that a good woman is an investment while a bad woman is a liabilityhuh

We must thank Aisha Buhari for doing this because it will help our economy..... The big idea is that the foreigners and even locals will further trust Buhari as a man of integrity and that will renew confidence in investing in Nigeria.

Like I said yesterday, For every problem in Nigeria, many people come up with WRONG solutions, some people come up with the RIGHT solutions, while some others come up with POLITICAL solutions. Mrs Buhari in this case chose to come up with the RIGHT solution and it is healthy for our economy.

PoliticsA Must Read: Angry Letter To The Nigerian Youth Please Marry A Lazy Woman by Gistarena(op): 11:19am On Aug 05, 2016
A MUST READ: Angry Letter To The Nigerian Youth Please Marry A Lazy Woman By Bayo Adeyinka

Dear Nigerian Youth,

Twice this week, God spoke to you but you were deaf. You missed the message totally. Not only did you miss the message, you put up the twin messengers on the cross and you are dealing them with the worst kind of blows. In your follow-the-herd mentality that has afflicted your generation, you have only succeeded in demonstrating your crass ignorance and the reason why you may never be taken seriously. Coincidentally, both messengers are old men but you mock them. You may have new clothes even more than the aged but you can never have rags like them. Their ragged experience is by far better than your new age wisdom.

The first messenger brought a series of messages. He gave some pieces of advice to a generation that is wise in its own sight. A harmless advice has now been turned over its head. How come this generation always end up making simple things complex? How come this generation always major on minors and minor on majors? Don't marry a lazy woman, he said. Don't marry a woman who cannot pray for one hour. Most of you are products of prayer but you come online to mock because it feels right to do so. Instead of lending your ears, you say the mouth of an elder is smelling. Just how did you think the elderly got their sunken eyes? It's because of what they have seen and experienced. As for you, you're like a dog destined to be lost and you're deaf to the whistle of the hunter.

You know what? Go ahead with your schemes. Marry a lazy woman. It is within your rights. Go for a couch potato. We are in the modern world. As long as she can apply good make-up, wear designer shoes and sun-glasses and update her status on Facebook while twerking regularly, that's all the qualifications she needs to get Mr Right. Who cares if she can do the dishes when there's a dish-washer? Who cares if she can make her own bed when she can hire a domestic help? Who cares if she can cook when Domino Pizza is still selling their franchise all over the nation? As for you modern lady, young men care more about how good you look than how well you cook! They will rather discuss your Peruvian and Malaysian weave-on than Italian cuisine. If they are hungry, they can go to their mothers- or help themselves. Whoever said the way to a man's heart is through his stomach has never met the 21st Century man.

And as for prayers, marry a lady that will take your problems to Agony Aunt. Taking them to the Lord in prayers is so old-school we don't even sing the song in church again. Your knees are so delicate you shouldn't even kneel down before God. Marry a woman who will rush to update your situation on Instagram instead of updating God instantly. Don't be bothered that she can't pray for one hour- as long as she can watch the whole series of Lekki Wives in one fell swoop, you're good to go. Prayer is so outdated. Making long prayers is so so outdated. What will she do when challenges of life come? So easy- she will twerk at them. The devil hates twerking and can't stand it. A family that twerks together stays together. Marry a woman who has tweeter handles but handles nothing else. We are trying to save your chicken from impending death but it's still hell bent on going to the refuse dump for its meal. What an elder sees while sitting, a young man can never see even if he stands. Bae, you can spend one hour applying concealer, mascara and lipstick on your face that you can't carry for twenty four hours but you can't spend one hour praying for a home that you hope to sustain as long as you live. In the voice of Lagbaja, "mo sorry fun gbogbo yin o, mo sorry fun gbogbo yin lo kokan".

Hey girl, marry a man that is jobless. Marry a man who can take off his shirt but can't take out the thrash. A perfectly toned man is better than a perfectly toned wallet. A man with six packs is better than a man with six figures. Romance is better than finance. Marry a man who has no ambition and has no clue about where he is going in life. Marry a man who lives on you and feeds off you. Marry a man whose only property is what is within his trousers. As you lay your bed, so you will lie on it. Silly working girl, hear me: love is blind but marriage is an eye-opener. Your eyes 'will soon clear'. No one tells a blind man that the market is over. If he cannot see, at least he is not deaf. Marriage is hard work, if you don't know. Too much of Kim Kardashian has robbed you of reality. Marriage is not Indian film.

You think the guy loves you when all he loves is your wallet. In the words of the elder who should know, "Even if he says he's a contractor, ask him to show you evidence of the contracts he has done because you may just be the contract". When you cry eventually, no one will be there to comfort you. I trust your fellow ladies: they will even laugh at your misfortune. You know women are the enemies of women. You will think you are trending but all they do is to help you trend your misfortune on social media. Is it any wonder your parents could hold a marriage together for 50 years but you can't even hold yourself together? The values they hold so dear have been devalued by you. Now, you're of no value.

By the way, what's your own issue with the dressing instruction a man gives to his employees? If I tell my staff I don't want tattoos, how come that is now your headache? He said his employees should not wear beards- how has that become your concern? Your joblessness is a major cause of worry.

And then there's the second 83-year old elder who was sent as a message of sorts to you. In my side of the country there is something called 'aroko'. Aroko is a form of communication which is usually non-verbal. The 83-year old man that you derided so much for being made the Chairman of a parastatal was a message sent to you. Instead of burying your heads in shame and covering yourselves in sack clothes and ashes, you are demonstrating the only thing you excel at doing- internet hooliganism. You should be worried that very few people in your generation have been found worthy of holding such a position on trust. The few times you have been given this kind of opportunity, you have proven to be worse than the geriatrics you complained about. Your generation inspires no confidence and engenders no trust. The stealing appetite of a man supposedly at the departure lounge is restrained while your own is uncontrolled. Generations before you stole in millions but you steal in billions. Generations before you kept stolen money in Swiss accounts but you keep yours in Panama. Your generation only knows how to wear t-shirts and carry placards. Your generation only knows how to hurl insults on Facebook. Your generation has no fresh ideas. The best of your generation is one Dino who may soon become your President. You laugh? While you're wasting your time using your scarce resources to buy internet data to fight over him, he's making himself relevant. Hardly does a day go by without a discussion about him. While you remain anonymous, he is always in the limelight.

Sit down and think. Stop in your tracks for a while and have a time of deep reflection. Consider these two messengers and their messages. Life does not discriminate. You need to face it fair and square. You have a lot of growing up to do. You are way behind in the scheme of things. Life has left you behind. There is a lot of catching up to do.

I'm afraid for you.

Father Narrates How His Son Survived Electrocution By Eko Disco Exposed Armored Cable At Cele Bus Stop Lagos (PHOTOS)

According to story by Mr Jasper Ndubuaku, who narrates how his son was almost killed by radiation heat of a 33 Kv armored cable which Eko Discos left uncovered at Cele Bus Stop Lagos. He went ahead to narrate that his son just escaped death and is lying critically ill in a hospital in FESTAC town.
According to Mr Jasper, he said, "The devil came calling. And GOD said NO. I've been in Lagos since Monday 25th July looking after my Son Who just escaped death and is lying critically ill in a hospital in FESTAC town.

My sons Obioha and Toby who are students of Kings college Lagos boarded an ABC bus to Owerri on Sunday the 24th of July at the Amuwo odofin park of the company.
The bus which was supposed to leave did not depart until about 9 30 am only to break down at Cele bus stop, less than 5 km away. Passengers in the vehicle testify that the motor mechanic in the bus confessed that he told the management that the bus was faulty and can not make that trip but was forced to follow the bus and effect repairs if it develops faults.
On disembarking from the bus, my son was hit by the radiation heat of a 33 Kv armored cable which Eko Discos left uncovered and esposed. Gods work
No 1. My son survived the more than 4400kv eletric shock.
2. He was thrown into the canal by the shock where Good Samaritan passengers in the bus rushed and picked and dragged him up.
3 . His brother was in the bus and was composed enough to have borrowed a passengers phone to call me.
A lot has happened between then and now but most importantly my son is alive. I have had the task of carrying him when he cannot walk. He had undergone a major surgery on the leg and the consultant tells me he has to observe him for another week or two. Meanwhile I'm fixed here in Lagos to the exclusion of every other thing nursing him.

I remain most grateful to God that he spared his life. God is great. However I m shocked and surprised that ABC transport company that I handed my under aged sons to transport back to Owerri has as I post this not officially informed me of the where're out of my children neither has the Eko discos on their attempts to kill my son.
The bills are on me according to the Doctor of the hospital my son is being treated. I will soldier on and save my son first. Every other thing will follow thereafter. Please help me all and thank God. Only He would have made this possible. May his name be praised. He said".

AgricultureNigeria Rice From Niger & Kebi States Hit The Market As Price Of Tomatoe Crashes by Gistarena(op): 2:52pm On Aug 01, 2016
According to a social media user who shared the photos, 'Made in Nigeria' rice has hit the Nigerian market and it is expectedly selling at lower prices compared to the imported ones.

The social media went ahead to provide price tags for the most popular staple food in the country produced in Kebbi, and Niger States. According to the poster;

"Made in Nigeria rice from Niger State at N7,000 only. And by the time the Enugu and Kebbi Rice hit the market next month, expect a price crash".

"Labana Rice from Kebbi state also in the market 50kg bag sells for N13, 000 This one is proudlyNigerian".

"This is a welcome development. Let us be self-reliant as a country," he concluded.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria's statistics, Nigeria expends as much as N1billion in a year in the importation of rice and N365 billion in year.

A small basket of tomato, which sold for N25,000 in May, is now going for N800 in Kaduna. And, no, it is not a joke.
It had been all anger and pain for households as the price of tomatoes hit the roof across the country as a result of scarcity caused by tuta absoluta, also known as ‘tomatoc ebola’.
This affected the crop in most parts of the north-west, notably Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina and Kano states.
As a result, the basket prices jumped from the range of N800-N1200 to between N25,000 and N40,000 at the height of the crisis.
At the Line Dogo (Rail Line) tomatoes and vegetable market in Kaduna on Saturday, it was a beehive of activities.
Buyers could not believe their eyes as tomato prices had crashed to a two-month low.

Abass Mai Tumatur, chairman of the tomato sellers, told TheCable it was a “pleasant relief” for everyone as tomato is now available and in large quantities.
“Tomato scarcity is nothing new, but it was made worse this year by the invasion of the moth,” he said.
He said the insects mutate more during the dry season but don’t survive during the rainy season.
“The rains coupled with the efforts of government have helped tremendously in making tomato available,” he said, praising the government for the “timely intervention”.
He assured the public that the fear is gone now “and hopefully for good”.
Farmers were left stranded and helpless as the moth ravaged their farms and left destruction across the farming community, making a pot of soup as expensive as gold.
Hotels and restaurants, in particular, faced a nightmare as the crisis also shot up the price of canned tomato paste.

Many were not aware of the reasons for the scarcity as frantic efforts were made to to address the situation.
Nasir el-Rufai, the Kaduna state governor, declared a state of emergency and dispatched officials to Kenya to find ways of tackling the ravaging insects.
The cost of the destruction in the state, according to el-Rufai, was close to N1 billion.
Audu Ogbeh, minister of agriculture and rural development, also commissioned experts to find solutions to the disease outbreak “as soon as possible”.
The insect originated from South America around 1912 and has spread to other parts of the world.
Reports suggest the insect came to Africa through Republic of Niger.

PoliticsNigeria Makes Headway In Securing China’s Funding Of Projects by Gistarena(op): 7:58pm On Jul 31, 2016
Budget and National Planning Minister, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, at the weekend, in Beijing, made a strong case why the Chinese government should assist Nigeria financially in funding critical major infrastructure projects in the country.

Senator Udoma who was in China for the Coordinator’s meeting on the implementation of the follow-up actions of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) also used the opportunity to discuss issues of vital economic interest with that country’s Vice Minister for Commerce, Mr. Qian Keming; and officials of China EXIM bank, where he stressed the mutually beneficial relationship the two countries will eventually enjoy if Nigeria’s economy is assisted to grow rapidly.

At the Johannesburg Summit in South Africa in December 2015, China had agreed to Assist African countries in ten strategic areas that will help their economy. It pledged $60 billion in aid, grants and concessional loans.

Nigeria is trying to get as much of the Chinese funding for projects in the form of grants, aids, investments and loans. The loan component will however be within the country’s debt sustainability limits. Projects proposed for the facility by Nigeria is in the region of about $20 billion, and the Minister said Nigeria will be in a better stead if the Chinese government will assist with a substantial part of the funds required.

During the various meetings, Senator Udoma stressed the need for special consideration for Nigeria given its strategic relationship with China, its economic potentials, and its capacity to redeem its part of the transaction obligations.

The Minister said following the meetings, both countries expressed satisfaction with the proposals and are very anxious to take proceedings to the next level.

During the Cooperation meeting attended by ministers from various countries in Africa, China’s President Xi Jinping said the meeting was an important step taken by China and Africa to implement the consensus of Chinese and Africa leaders and the outcomes of the FOCAC.

“It is a significant measure to boost China-African cooperative development. The meeting demonstrates to the world once again that no matter how the international landscape may change, the resolve of China and Africa to pursue unity and win-win cooperation will never change”, Jinping said.

The President noted that the weak performance of the world economy brings both opportunities and challenges to the economic development of China and Africa. “We must stand shoulder to shoulder and march forward hand in hand,” he admonished.
In his keynote speech, China’s State Councilor, Yang Jiech, explained that his country initiated the meeting at this time “to take stock of the delivery of summit outcomes, to align our thinking, built consensus, overcome challenges and difficulties, share experience and promote cooperation, so that we can pool the wisdom and strength of both sides and give a leg up to the implementation work”.

At the plenary session, China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, was pleased that both China and the African countries have attained a high level of implementation of the outcomes of the summit, have acted promptly to take forward the five pillars and ten plans of cooperation and have made substantial progress in enhancing friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation across board.

He added that China has delivered on its commitments and made every effort to advance follow-up actions.

SportsI Did Not Make Any $30,000 Donation To Olympic Squad - Mikel Obi by Gistarena(op): 9:08pm On Jul 28, 2016
John Mikel Obi has denied media reports making the rounds in Nigeria that he gave 30,000 dollars to his team –mates in the U23 team presently camping in Atlanta, USA.

Speaking from the team's camp at the Hyatt Place, the Captain of Team Nigeria to the Rio Olympics was furious:
"I was first told of this unfortunate story by a friend who called me from Nigeria. I thought he was joking until he sent me the link. I don't know the source of this story which to me is all out to divide us as a team. I would have thought that stories that should be coming out in the media are stories that will unite the team instead of dividing us. Our target in Rio is to excel, but if they continue like this, then I wonder how we can be united."
Wondering why the writer thinks that the players are hungry that needed his money, Mikel asked:

"Tell me the players who are in this team that are so hungry that will be looking up to me for survival? Is it (William) Ekong, (Oghenekaro) Etebo, (Shehu) Abdulahi, (Daniel) Akpeyi, (Kingsley) Madu, (Okechukwu) Azubuike or (Stanley) Amuzie, who are my team –mates in the Super Eagles, that I will be donating to, or other players who are plying their trade abroad and are doing well for themselves? To me, this is just mere distraction that won't help this team going into a major tournament like the Olympics."

The Chelsea FC ace then appealed to the sporting press and Nigerians generally to rally round the team and wish the players and officials well as they get ready for the men’s football tournament of the Rio Olympics.

PoliticsAddress By Pre Buhari On The Commissioning And Flag Off Of Abuja-kaduna Rail Lin by Gistarena(op): 2:39pm On Jul 26, 2016
ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AT THE COMMISSIONING AND FLAG-OFF CEREMONY OF ABUJA (IDU)-KADUNA STANDARD GAUGE TRAIN SERVICE ON TUESDAY, 26TH JULY, 2016
Protocol.
I am delighted to be here today to commission the Abuja – Kaduna railway track and flag-off the Abuja-Kaduna train services (Passengers & Freight) on Nigeria’s first ever Standard Gauge Rail track to go into operation. This project was conceived by a previous administration, started by the last government and I am pleased to complete and commission it.

2. It is on record that between 1963 and early ‘80s, Nigeria had a vibrant rail system which conveyed agricultural and livestock and solid mineral resources to Lagos and Port Harcourt sea ports from where they are exported to other parts of the world. It is our vision and hope that those good old days will soon be back with us and indeed in a more prosperous way with the restoration of rail transport system which today’s occasion symbolises.
3. The construction of the Abuja-Kaduna Standard Gauge rail track commenced in 2009 and happily, seven years after, we are on the threshold of presenting to Nigerians a Standard Gauge Railway Train Service that will be safe, fast and reliable. The Abuja-Kaduna train service will provide the much needed alternative transport link between the Federal Capital Territory and Kaduna State, a corridor which has a huge potential for industries, agricultural activities and a growing labour force.
4. The Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi and his team have put great efforts in the last few months to ensure the successful completion of this project under this Administration. Completion and Commissioning of this project is indeed in keeping with our vision of bringing about the desired change to make life easier for the generality of Nigerians through the development and provision of the necessary social and physical infrastructure.
5. In this regard, I wish to assure Nigerians that most State capitals and major commercial and production centres will be linked with railway system as a way of bringing about rapid socio-economic development and improving the quality of life of the Nigerians and promoting social & regional integration.
6. Furthermore, I wish to also reassure Nigerians that due attention will be placed on pursuing the 25-Year Strategic Railway Master Plan which is aimed at rehabilitating the existing 3,505km narrow gauge rail line and developing and constructing new standard gauge rail lines across the country.

7. As we celebrate the symbolic return of rail service today I wish to reiterate the commitment of this Administration to pursue with greater vigour and determination rehabilitation and construction of other rail lines including the major Lagos-Calabar and Kano-Lagos lines.
8. As we get down to work, I look forward to flagging off many more lines outlined in our transport policy programme.
Thank you, and safe journey to all our travellers.
