"I called the principal on the phone immediately after Favour got home because I was shocked because I was about to leave the house, and this man started insulting me on the phone and cutting the phone off.

A local official and state media in Lebanon said an Israeli strike on a southern village on Sunday killed several people from the same family, with Hezbollah announcing rocket fire in retaliation.

Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group have been engaged in cross-border fire since Hamas's October attack on southern Israel sparked the Gaza conflict. In Lebanon, at least 390 people have been killed in nearly seven months of cross-border violence, with Israel claiming 11 soldiers and nine civilians killed on its side of the border. Health / UK Revokes Doctor Oluwafemi Tijion Esho License Over Sex For Free Botox by Gistmedia10: 1:10pm On Apr 29
Nigerian cosmetic doctor Dr. Oluwafemi "Tijion" Esho has lost his license to practice after being found guilty of giving Botox "in return for sex."

Esho confessed to an improper emotional relationship with Patient A, who he exchanged "inappropriate" sexual messages on Instagram. While arguing that he never had any physical sexual contact with Patient A, an MPTS panel ruled earlier this month that Dr. Esho did have sexual intercourse with Patient A at his clinic in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2021 and administered Botox free of charge. The tribunal also established that the doctor had stroked her hair and rubbed himself against her after making inappropriate comments about the shape of her bottom.

The tribunal found Dr. Esho's fitness to practise was impaired because of his misconduct and announced that his name should be removed from the medical register. The reasons for imposing the sanction will be released next week.

Among the "inappropriate" Instagram messages sent to Patient A between July 2019 and February 2022 were an exchange in September 2019 when he said: "What you doing to me lol. Morning Glory. Bloody have me wanting the real thing. That’s like every man’s dream." In November 2019, he posted: “Why you making me bulge lol. Send more, don’t be sorry lol.” The following month, he wrote “Lol loving the tongue” and “Ha free mls [millilitres of botox] I’d need the whole booty and more”.

Dr. Esho was featured on the ITV morning program to provide his medical opinion and comment on cosmetic surgery discussions. He was also regularly consulted on Body Fixers for Channel 4, which aired for two seasons in 2016 and 2017 and made appearances on segments of BBC’s Morning Live until the summer of 2022.

Crime / JAMB: Father Arrested For Impersonating Son During UTME by Gistmedia10: 5:13pm On Apr 24
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that a father has been arrested alongside his son by the police for impersonating his son during the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who disclosed this while on an inspection tour of the UTME centres in Kaduna on Wednesday, April 24, said the 2024 examination is largely well conducted, except for a few cases of impersonation, which became possible because some people now have multiple National Identity Number (NIN).

Prof. Oloyede warned that those who cheated in the exams will be arrested either now or much later after the examination, saying that JAMB has improved its technology to check those engaging in all forms of examination malpractices.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the inspection at Kaduna State University (KASU) CBT Centre, the JAMB Registrar said: “For those who engage in cheating, they should know that it does not pay. The technology is helping to check that.

“Across the country, most of the problem we have is impersonation. For instance, now, we say we have NIN, we now have cases of people with two NINs and therefore, that has defeated the purpose of identity verification. We are going to take that up with NIMC, that there are people who have two NINs.

“We have a case of a father impersonating his son, writing an examination for the son and I wonder, are you not destroying your son’s future? Of course, two of them are now in custody. I can’t understand what the father will now tell his son when they are both locked up in the same cell. This happened not in Kaduna, but I don’t want to disclose the state.

In a letter to the NCAA Director-General titled Immediate Suspension of Dana Air Pending Safety and Financial Health Audit, the minister said the move was necessary to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

“As the supervisor overseeing our nation’s aviation safety and regulatory compliance, it has come to the Honourable Minister’s attention that recent incidents involving Dana Airline have raised serious concerns regarding both the safety and financial viability of their operations,” read part of the letter signed by the Permanent Secretary to the Minister, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole.

“This audit should encompass all aspects of safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial health to ensure full compliance with our aviation regulations.”

Keyamo explained that the recent incident underscored the urgency of the matter, and the need for swift and decisive action to be taken to safeguard the interests of all stakeholders involved.

“I trust in your expertise and diligence in carrying out this audit thoroughly and expeditiously. Please keep me informed of the progress and any significant findings throughout this process,” he added.

The incident on Tuesday, had led the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), to temporarily shut down runway 18L/36R at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos for flight operations.

The runway was reopened on Wednesday morning after FAAN’s emergency response team evacuated, and recovered the aircraft from the site.

FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, announced this in a statement.

She said subsequently, comprehensive clearing operations were conducted to ensure the runway was free of any Foreign Object Debris (FOD) that could impede flight safety.

She added that the FAAN Operations Division and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) had jointly conducted a thorough inspection of the runway surface and deemed it safe for the resumption of operations.

She also said an appropriate Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) had been issued in this regard.

“We acknowledge that the area affected by the overshoot was significantly muddy,” she said.

“A concerted effort was made for the thorough and efficient cleaning of the area to facilitate the swift resumption of operations on Runway 18L/36R.

“FAAN wishes to express its gratitude to the travelling public, our airline partners, and all stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the temporary closure.

The Dana Air aircraft, with 83 passengers and registration number 5N BKI flying from Abuja to Lagos, suffered a runway excursion at the Lagos Murtala Mohammed airport on Tuesday.

A runway excursion occurs when an aircraft veers off the runway in use during the take-off or landing run.

Dana Air said in a statement after the incident, that all the passengers were safely disembarked with no injuries.

Events / Nigerian Party-goers Now Spray Money Into An Open Box by Gistmedia10: 11:19am On Apr 21
In response to increasing scrutiny from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigerian party attendees have introduced a new approach to the customary practice of spraying money at celebrations.

Instead of directly showering cash on the celebrant, guests now discreetly deposit their monetary gifts into a designated "Money-Box" placed at the venue. This innovation aims to reduce the open practice of spraying naira notes, leading to naira mutilation, and to mitigate the risk of EFCC arrest. shocked

Politics / The Elusive White Lion : A Tale of Political Maneuvering by Gistmedia10: 1:17pm On Apr 20
Once upon a time, in the lush and vibrant land of Kogi, there roamed a majestic white lion known far and wide as Yahaya Bello. With his striking mane and powerful presence, he ruled over the land with an iron paw, earning him the moniker "the White Lion."

But as the seasons changed and time marched on, whispers began to circulate among the creatures of the land. Rumors of misdeeds and shadowy dealings swirled around the White Lion's den, casting a dark cloud over his once-glittering reign.

One day, a band of vigilant eagles, known as the EFCC, spread their wings and soared across the skies, their keen eyes fixed on the White Lion. They had heard tales of his alleged money laundering schemes, rumors of vast sums of wealth disappearing into the depths of his kingdom.

With their emblem of watchful eyes emblazoned upon their chests, the EFCC descended upon the White Lion's den, determined to hold the White Lion accountable for his actions. But much to their dismay, the White Lion was nowhere to be found.

Despite their best efforts to track him down, the White Lion remained elusive, slipping through the cracks of the kingdom like a ghost in the night. Some whispered that he had fled to distant lands, seeking refuge from the watchful gaze of the eagles.

As days turned into weeks, the White Lion's absence only fueled the flames of speculation. Some wondered if he would ever face justice for his alleged crimes, while others feared that he had vanished into the annals of history, leaving behind only whispers of his once-mighty rule.

But the eagles of the EFCC remained undeterred, their resolve unwavering as they continued their quest to bring the elusive White Lion to justice. For in the end, no creature, no matter how powerful, could evade the watchful eyes of justice forever.
