A farmer chose to propose to his girfriend in a way that is unique to his line of profession, so he placed the engagement ring on a cow's udder.

Well, the man's "romantic" gesture was not well received by Facebook users when the photo made it online.

Facebook users on a group were horrified after a woman shared the photo to a marriage shaming group, known as That’s It I’m Ring Shaming: The Wreckoning, and group members had a lot to say.

A number of Facebook users said wedging a ring on a cow’s udder was practically animal cruelty.

"F***ing gross. This animal does not deserve being abused in this fashion," one Facebook user commented.

Some made jokes and puns about the method of proposal. But some were more concerned about the ring and condemned the man's choice of rings to propose with.

One wrote: "This is udderly terrible. Sorry had to go for it. But really this is gross. The ring is a mess of clusters and the band is too thick. Like the person thought how can I make this ring bigger without spending any more money."

EFCC Arrests 24-year-old Suspected Internet Fraudster… recovers SUV, Apple Laptops, charm

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested one Victor Idahosa for Internet fraud.

Idahosa, 24, was arrested at Cristolyte Close Diamond Estate, Lekki Ajah Lagos, following intelligence report received by the Commission about his alleged involvement in the criminal activity.

Items found on the suspect, who hails from Edo State, include one SUV, two Apple laptops, scam emails, payments slips, cashier cheques, charms and several fraudulent documents.

He will soon be charged to court.

The police on Monday arraigned two men and a minor in a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N2.7million from a church offering box.

The police charged Osita Egbo; 32, Joel Okafor; 18, and a minor with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

They pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the defendants committed the offence at midnight on July 2, at the Mountain of Fire Ministries church (MFM), Onike area of Yaba, Lagos.

Olaluwoye said Egbo, was a night security guard at the church while the two teenagers were members of the church.

The prosecution alleged that they stole from the church offering boxes three times in the last one month with a fourth accomplice, but were never caught.

Olaluwoye said that a fourth accomplice, another minor , confessed to the crime after he felt cheated by the defendants.

He said that the defendants stole a total of N2.7million from the church offering box.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for stealing while Section 411 provides for two years in prison for conspiracy.

Chief Magistrate Oluwatoyin Oghere admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N1million each with two sureties each in like sum.

Oghere ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State government.

She adjourned the case until September 25 for mention.

Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile – Ife, has said Opeyemi DARA, the 400-Level student who committed suicide was not doing poorly academically.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju on the death, the university noted that Opeyemi’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), which was 2.68, was on the Second Class Lower (2.2) band and could not be said to be poor academically, contrary to claims that she committed suicide because of poor grades.

The statement also noted that Opeyemi had no outstanding course to write and was only preparing to submit her final year project as a student of the English Department.

The statement reads: “The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile – Ife, will like to commiserate with the parents, guardians, colleagues, friends and well-wishers of late Opeyemi Dara, a part four student of the Department of English, who was said to have committed suicide allegedly because of poor academic performance. The authorities of the University would, however, like to use this medium to put the records straight.

“Miss Dara is on a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.68 which qualified her, at least, to be an average student on a 2 – 2 class of grade. It is, therefore, our firm belief that a student who was on Second Class ((Lower Division) cannot be said to be poor academically, talk less of committing suicide because of such. In actual fact, Opeyemi DARA did NOT have any outstanding course except her project which she was yet to submit. The project could not have been a challenge to her because she had authored two books – ‘Heels on Steel’ (a play) and ‘ Let Me Run Mad Today (a poem) both published by the Words Rhymes and Rhythm Limited (www.wrr.ng).

“Opeyemi DARA was admitted to the University in the 2014/2015 academic session and her graduating year result (2017/2018) indicates that SHE HAD PASSED ALL THE DEPARTMENTAL COURSES except. Research Method and Project (EGL 420). She had NOT submitted any essay for grading which is understandable by virtue of her encounter of April 22 and the fact that she had not reported in the University since then.

“Opeyemi DARA, who resides off-campus, allegedly first took the Sniper on April 22, 2019, but the Security Unit of the University, on getting the information, went to her house, took her first to the University Health Centre where she was referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC). She was treated and discharged home to her parents. She was said to have been brought in by the parents and readmitted at the Intensive Care Unit of the OAUTHC last Thursday August 1, and she unfortunately died the next day. There are indications that she had an underlying medical condition

“The Obafemi Awolowo University has a very robust Student Advisory System which has been in place for decades, and the university has the highest number of dedicated Guidance Counsellors of any university in Nigeria.

“The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede has appealed to all staff and students of the University to take advantage of the mechanisms put in place by the University administration in addressing all academic, social, medical and other challenges. All youths are advised never to see suicide as an option, since tough times do not last but are only passing phases in the lives of all mortals.”

Mr. Tony Okecheme, the Federal Capital Territory High Court's Director of Finance was swept away by a heavy flood in Galadimawa roundabout area of Abuja, while on his way to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The High Court Finance Director didn't survive the incident that occurred after his official 2017 Toyota Camry car got stuck in the flood, but his driver was rescued by some young boys and taken to an Asokoro hospital.

It was further learnt that officials of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reportedly got residents of the area infuriated over their failure to rescue Mr. Okecheme after arriving at the scene.
