Ajiboye said some of the teachers lost their certificates due to terrorism but have been restored by the intervention of the council. According the TRCN boss, bringing back the teachers would improve knowledge impartation on students in northeastern part of the country. He said, “Actually, it is disheartening we are affected we cant pretend. We have lost so many teachers to insecurity especially in the northeast. It created trauma. Pupils left the schools. They dont want to come. “The teachers themselves left because of what has happened to their colleagues. What we are doing is to bring back our teachers especially in the northeast. “A lot of interventions are going on to remotivate the teachers and change their psyche. so many of them left the teaching profession they dont want to come back but now sanity is returning and our teachers are coming back. Some of them lost their certificates to insurgency.” On the deadline to register as professional teachers, Ajiboye disclosed that full enforcement against unregistered and unlicensed teachers would begin in January 2020. The TRCN boss said that any teacher not registered by the Council by December 31, 2019 will not be allowed to practice anymore in Nigeria. According to him, a letter of reminder is being written to Commissioners of Education and the Education secretary in Federal Capital Territory on the need to ensure that practising teachers in their states get valid license before the deadline. “That deadline stands. Infact the Minister of Education has directed that TRCN should do a letter to Commissioners of Education and Education secretary in the FCT to remind them about the deadline. “By December 2019 anyone not registered and licensed by TRCN may may not allowed in our classrooms. by January 2020 enforcement will begin.” read more: https://gistok.ng/boko-haram-trcn-brings-back-teachers-who-have-fled-terrorism-secretary/

Cameroon refugees to take over Nigerian communities ,More than ten thousand refugees have seized all the refugee camps in the local government area of Ogoja in Cross River State. The Ogoja refugee camp was intended for four thousand refugees, but it is being occupied by more than ten thousand refugees; with most of them from Cameroon refugees to take over Nigeria Comunites. Speaking while receiving members of a sociocultural organization, the National Association of Marine Dogs that visited the camp to donate food to the refugees, Mr. Hilary Agida, staff of the State Emergency Management Agency of Cross River, regretted that the influx has spread too much The facilities in the camp. He said that an additional camp was created to accommodate the influx, but that too much has been flooded, which makes the situation desperate only for the state government. “There are two refugee camps here in Ogoja, one in Adagom and the other in Akpakpanga, and both camps have witnessed a constant influx of refugees sprawling over the facilities here and something must be done to address the situation before witnessing a disaster here. ” As a result, Agida said that the camps are under the supervision of the United Nations, which registers those who enter the camp to keep information on how many people have been displaced so far by the violence in southern Cameroon. He explained that the struggle between those who were agitating for independence in the southern part of that country and the security agencies began in 2017 and that the association was moved by the plight of refugees who are experiencing difficulties. By donating food to the refugees, the zonal president of the National Association of Sea Dogs, Prince Joseph Besong said that the donation of bags of rice, yam tubers, garri and toiletries would help to keep the refugees. “These people live without any source of income and we believe it is necessary that we provide them with help by providing them with some food and supplies for their children.” He called on the United Nations to help quickly resolve the conflict so that refugees can return to their homes and live in peace and develop their country. “In addition to providing an agreement for these people, the UN must intervene and ensure a rapid resolution of the crisis so that these people can take their children home and provide them with an adequate education,” he said. read more :https://gistok.ng/all-cameroon-refugees-to-take-over-nigerian-communities/

Contrary to the official position that a former governor of Lagos State and one of the national leaders of the APC, Bola Tinubu, was absent at last week’s visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos because he was out of the country, ThisDay gathered that Tinubu deliberately stayed away. It was learnt that the Lagos State former Governor stayed away because he had personally asked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode not to inaugurate any of those projects but leave them to his successor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, an order the governor eventually defied. Buhari had during his visit last Wednesday, inaugurated some of the major projects of the Governor Ambode administration. The president’s visit also attracted Governors Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Sanwo-Olu and his deputy-to-be, Obafemi Hamzat as well as many other dignitaries, both from the capital city, Abuja and the state. But Tinubu was conspicuously absent. However, Tinubu’s media office had quickly reacted to the barrage of questions that attended the absence of their principal during the president’s Lagos visit, especially against the backdrop of insinuations that it could be in retaliation to the president’s absence at the colloquium organised last month to mark Tinubu’s 67th birthday, saying it was not deliberate. Mr Tunde Rahman, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media, had on Thursday tried to explain that his principal could not meet the president because he was away from the country. Asked yesterday night to respond specifically to whether his principal at any time directed the governor not inaugurate the projects, Rahman further stated in a text message to ThisDay; “His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was out of the country at the time. He was working on the initial schedule under which President Muhammadu Buhari was to be in Lagos April 29th and 30th. So he had planned his itinerary abroad taking that timing into cognizance. Even the President was aware of Asiwaju’s trip. So he did not boycott or deliberately stay away from the event. If you claim Asiwaju told Governor Ambode not to inaugurate the projects, I’m really not aware of that. And that’s the truth.” But investigations revealed that Tinubu and Ambode have actually had a conversation on the matter and the former Lagos governor was alleged to have pointedly told Ambode to forget the idea of inaugurating the projects and letting Sanwo-Olu come in, finish them off and then inaugurate them. Believed to have felt inadequate by that charge, Ambode was said to have run his conversation with Tinubu with a few people, including the president, a majority of whom felt it was unfair to have compelled him not to take the glory for his own work especially, that he wanted to inaugurate them by himself, even though time would not allow him to completely finish them off. Therefore, when the development was communicated to Tinubu, he considered it a slight and therefore chose to be away about the same time, since it would be indefensible to be in town and not attend a programme that featured the president, whom he recently led to victory for another term of four years. Incidentally, this is happening at a time Ambode is said to have been pencilled in for a ministerial position, representing the South-west slot, the reason all the South-west governors apart from Osun, who is currently being ruled by one of Tinubu’s cousins, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, were in attendance. The decision to bring Ambode into the Buhari political family, often referred to as the ‘Abuja boys’, was believed to have been informed by the fact that the president did not like the way the outgoing governor was treated to the ignominy of not returning to office, more so that he personally intervened on his behalf on two different occasions, but his intervention failed to save Ambode from losing his re-election ticket to the perceived prebendal politics of the state. It was against this backdrop that Buhari was said to have consulted with other stakeholders from the region and came up with the decision to include Ambode in his next cabinet, albeit representing the South-west geo-political zone, a move many believed would soon set the President and Tinubu on war path. Curiously, however, the last may not have been heard of Ambode’s many battles with the political forces in Lagos state, a crucial example being the refusal by the state House of Assembly to pass his 2019 budget, which he struggled to lay before the parliament sometime in February. source: https://gistok.ng/why-tinubu-stayed-away-from-buharis-lagos-visit/

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being desperate to remain in power at all costs. The main opposition party made this known in a statement by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Sunday. The PDP accused the present administration of being desperate to stay in power so as to exploit Nigerians, protect APC corrupt leaders, cover their incompetence. The statement reads in part: “APC and the cabal at the incompetent Buhari Presidency resorted to violence, intimidation as well as manipulations and alteration of results at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the February 23, Presidential election.” “This also explains why APC agents and certain Presidential aides have been making desperate efforts to distract the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal and derail the course of justice by making and promoting baseless judicial interpretations and externalizing the proceedings of the court. “President Buhari-led APC administration wants to remain in power to prevent investigation into the N14 trillion allegedly stolen under its watch; including the N9 trillion stolen from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, as detailed in the leaked NNPC memo; the over N1.4 trillion alleged oil subsidy sleaze and the N1.1 trillion worth of crude diverted using 18 unregistered companies linked to APC interests. “This is in addition to the N33billion National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) fund, and the over N18 billion stolen out of the N48 billion approved by the National Assembly in the 2017 budget for the rehabilitation of IDPs in the Northeast, among others. “Furthermore, the Buhari-led APC administration is desperate to avoid an investigation into its unwholesome borrowings that led to the escalation of our nation’s debt stock from N12.12 trillion in 2015 to an overburdening N24.39 trillion in 2018. “Within a space of three years, this administration has borrowed a total of N12.27 trillion, yet it cannot point to any significant development project into which the money was invested. This includes the N2.66 trillion borrowed in 2018, ahead of the 2019 general elections. “These and many more are funds meant for infrastructural development and welfare of Nigerians but have been cornered by APC leaders. “That the Buhari Presidency lacks the competence and integrity to run a creative, transparent and credible administration that can guarantee economic growth, wealth creation and a dependable system has become a globally accepted fact. “The negative effect is the further dipping of our economy, as investor’s confidence, which shored up at the expressed resolve by Nigerians to elect Atiku Abubakar as their next President, slumped with the rigging of the Presidential election.” source: https://gistok.ng/buhari-vs-atiku-presidency-desperate-to-remain-in-power-pdp/
