Dr Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, a lecturer at the Federal University of Lafia, and his children were filmed attacking a lady named Blessing Mathias in Nassarawa state.

Dr. Fred is shown in one of the attack videos chopping off Blessing’s blouse with scissors as she begged for compassion.

Blessing is heard telling Dr. Fred’s sons to take her hand away so their father may successfully rip off her blouse without touching her breasts while she is still holding it tightly in order to preserve her modesty.

On Friday, October 14, 2022, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Enugu Zonal Command detained twelve (12) bankers on suspicion of insider fraud.

In the end, a statement by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Emmanuel Osodeke when he said, ‘We have seen light at the end of the tunnel’ has finally come to pass as the union suspends its eight months old strike.

The Union made this known via a statement on its official Twitter handle, Friday morning.

A more detailed statement by the Unions’president is however, expected later this morning.

This follows an all night closed door meeting held by the National Executive Council of ASUU before which it’s branches had met in a bid to determine the Unions’ next line of action.

Recall that the Court of Appeal had ordered the body to suspend it’s industrial action on or before October 17th, 2022, before its appeal of the ruling ordering lecturers to resume work can be heard.

Members of the union’s National Executive Committee, which comprises the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive, attended the meeting at the ASUU National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, no police officer should stand in the middle of the road conducting a stop and search while wearing a mufti.

Adejobi emphasized in a series of tweets he posted this morning that conducting a stop and search while not properly dressed is extremely unprofessional and a serious violation of the IGP’s mandate.
