On September 26, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission clarified what transpired in court during the hearing for the money laundering case brought against Olisa Metuh, a former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.

As previously reported, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Abuja Federal High Court dismissed the EFCC’s request for a new trial against the former PDP national publicity secretary. He stated that the lawsuit was “an abuse of court procedure,” and that it was “a blatant abuse of the court for the commission to have submitted the same matter for retry before him” while the Supreme Court case was still underway.

EFCC’s Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement released on Tuesday September 27, said the report was “a gross misrepresentation of the status of the case.”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the top Igbo sociocultural organization, has urged the federal government to prevent letting Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), pass away while under the care of the Directorate of State Services (DSS).

Following a normal visit to the Department of State Service cell, his brother Emmanuel Kanu and lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor raised the alarm about Kanu’s health condition. They claimed that the DSS has denied the Biafra leader access to his doctors despite the fact that he is in serious condition.
Kanu “is presently afflicted with stomach disease, necessitating the frequent use of antacids and other accessible medical therapies,” according to Ejiofor.

The DSS disallowed him from consuming even the tiniest quantity of a prescribed painkiller, which might have provided him with some relief.
Ohanaeze responded by stating that “Nnamdi Kanu Must Not Die in Prison” and that the report should worry any patriotic Nigerian with a clear head.

Cardi B, an American rapper and songwriter with a Grammy Award for best rap performance, was sentenced to 15 days of community service after entering a guilty plea to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Cardi B accepted a plea deal and admitted guilt to two misdemeanor offenses on Thursday. Queens Court then handed down her sentence.

This occurs almost four years after her imprisonment for a strip club brawl in October 2018.
Twelve charges were included in the initial indictment from 2019, including two counts of felony attempted assault and other less serious offenses related to the altercation. Ten of the counts were dropped, including both felonies.

Cardi B in a statement said,

“As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now.
